RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

How about the “Por” House.

RE: peak traffic times in cities

Before heading out, usually a week before, I’ll use Apple maps our Google maps to plot my route through a certain area. Each of those apps provide real time traffic and give me a general idea of what traffic congestion looks like. It’s certainly not perfect, but it helps us get a relatively good idea of what we might face. We do our best to avoid traveling during rush hour too.

Here is Lipperts recommendation. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-kpHL84z/0/a84ecc14/M/i-kpHL84z-M.png width=640 Here is a link to the tech sheet. https://www.lci1.com/assets/content/support/technical-information-sheets/Leveling%20and%20Stabilization/CCD_0002088.pdf Note: Moderator edit to enlarge picture for readability.

RE: 6 Point Self-Leveling Systems

Wondering if these new 6 Pt. Leveling systems make the 5er more stable? Yes, I think so. Can you lift the entire 5er off the ground? You can, but Lippert says not to do it. I’ve done it when I put on my Moryde 4000 and wet bolt kit and would use it to change a flat if needed. Do 5ers with this system still jiggle as a person walks around inside? Yes, we still have some movement. Is there a down side to these systems? I haven’t found one yet, and I wouldn’t buy another rig without it.

RE: Auto Leveling

have been good at reading and following the instructions but our leveling system has only worked correctly one time. Most of the time it has an error "Out of Strock". I would love to use it but no joy. I'm happy your is working correctly There are some great YouTube videos that you might want to check out or contact Lippert. There are two sensors that determine level. One is probably in the front near your battery and the other above your axles. It’s possible one of those is loose. We love our level up and I wouldn’t have a rig without it.

RE: Residence refrigerator

Will be upgrading our fifth wheel in about a year for going full time. Quick question, what is the upside to residential fridges? I've been using a small 2-way for 8 years now with no problems. We went to an rv show last month and there were a lot of larger 2-way frigdes in the models we were looking at. Plenty of space for the Wife and I. So why a residential, I'd like to know before I buy next year. Thanks. We just bought a new rig and I decided to go with the two way fridge as I thought of the few times we’ve overnighted without hookups where it’s been nice to run the refrigerator on propane. Well after a few months of dealing with cooling issues with our Norcold 2118 I’m regretting that decision. Our 2118 is a piece of junk. Out of the gate we’ve had nothing but issues keeping food at safe temps. Norcold support and our dealer have been useless at fixing the issue. I went over the entire installation to make sure it was installed according to specs and Cardinal did it right, but still no luck getting it to cool properly until I added more fans to improve air circulation behind the refrigerator. A friend has the exact same trailer and has no issues. I guesss it’s just my bad luck as the Dometic in my last trailer failed. If I had to do it again I’d go residential and be done with it.

RE: horse or cart first?

When I bought my DRW truck a few years back I ended up getting a 4x4 because it’s about the only thing the dealers order here, but I would probably have bought a 4x2 if I could have found one. For one the beds sits lower and two the extra payload never hurts. As for the 4x4 feature I’ve used it twice, both times driving on the sand. Driving in the snow, not if I can help it. I’d rather not have my 60k truck smashed by people that see snow a couple times a year and freak out. That’s what the AWD SUV’s are for. The truck is for pulling the fifth wheel.

RE: Norcold Refrigerator not cooling

I just added two 120mm computer fans to my upper vent to exhaust the hot air. Since doing this my refrigerator hasn’t gone over 34 degrees and the freezer hasn’t gone above 7. Before adding the fans I was hitting 42-45 in the refrigerator and 25 in the freezer. I wish manufacturers would stop putting refrigerators in slides or come up with a better ventilation system. After the factory it's better and my temps a running about where yours were before the fans. How did you wire these? Any chance you could post a picture showing mount etc? Just a quick update we moved the ice cream to the bottom shelf and it stayed almost hard! Last RV fridge said top left, no so in this one. Still like the fan info jtaylor1920 My Norcold 2118 came with 3 factory fans. One about 1/3 of the way up the back and 2 about 2/3 of the way up below the cooling fins. Those 3 fans are turned on by a button thermostat attached to the cooling fins. They come on at 130 degrees and turn off at 115. Unfortunately they haven’t proven to be enough to keep temperatures at safe levels, thus I added the two fans to the top vent to get the heat out. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-nbX89ZR/0/9b1288e2/M/i-nbX89ZR-M.jpg The fans are attached to the vent with zip ties. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-wJkRMR3/0/3f9ff105/M/i-wJkRMR3-M.jpg I grabbed power off of the hot side of the button thermostat that way the fans come on when the refrigerator comes on. I grabbed ground off of the bottom factory fan. The fans have blue LED’s so I can see if they are running while everything is closed up.
