RE: Recurve R3 vs Equalizer E2

Keep the bars clean and greased well where they go in the hitch. A shot of WD40 on the bars at the L brackets and I don't get any noise.

RE: Should I Buy The Dealer's Hitch

Not sure about todays 150s but P series (passenger car)tires were the most common. They have a lower load capacity and softer sidewalls for a smoother ride but will have more side sway giving a less desireable towing experience. Switching to LT (light truck) series will have a higher load capacity, stiffer sidewall and give a better feeling of control when towing. They will ride a little stiffer but worth the feel for towing. Any type of WD hitch will improve the ride with that size trailer especially on rough roads. And from experience working at an RV dealership most travel trailers actually had a tongue weight higher than advertised.

RE: 2019 Keystone 5th wheel - TPO lifting issue

Have seen it quite a few times on other brands that use that type of build after they get a couple of seasons on them. Unless opening the roof seams for other issues would leave it be as it did not appear to be causing any issues in itself at the time. Seems the metal was not rolled tight enough and would lift off of the deck as the staples pulled free. If repairing a damaged roof I would have material rolled to the correct radius and screw it down rather than staple it.

RE: Can't find my house water pump 2005 Fleetwood Expedition

Did you look behind the basement panel where your city water connection is?

RE: Trailer brakes not working

Control needs to feel inertia of vehicle slowing down to work. Manual lever works anytime. take it for a road test to check for normal operation.

RE: How to Best Run New Coax on Roof ??

I have used the AC duct in the ceiling to run cable through if reasonably close and accessible.

RE: How to re-caulk RV trailer roof?

Not a repair. Original self leveling lap sealant such as DICOR. Unless loose its almost impossible to get off of the rubber without inflicting damage. Just wash roof with a mild detergent and let dry. Recoat all joints, fittings, and hardware with lap sealant for rubber roofs.

RE: Brakes grabbing

hopefully OP has solved problem. If not I have seen wires get loose or pulled out of replacement 7 way plug on trailer pigtail and short or power a circuit inadvertently. Wintertime towing can fill them with road chemicals and corrode all the connections in them also. Always recommend replacing with new cord and molded plug.

RE: Ford V10 Running hot

If it has a fan clutch have that checked before replacing the radiator. Lower radiator hose may be collapsing internally and restricting flow of coolant returning to water pump.

zep wax high traffic or wet look?

A question for those of you that use zep wax on your rigs, do you use the high traffic or wet look floor polish?

RE: Kwikee series 32 step replacement Motor & Gearbox

If all you may need is the motor I used to get them from Orielly auto parts. If I remember they were Ford/Mercury window motors for 2 door applications. I cant remember if they were right or left side. Significantly cheaper than from kwikee.

RE: Motor Home GPS Phone AP

Trucker Path, Hammer are two of several trucking apps that will allow you to enter vehicle dimensions (height, length, weight) and route you around these obstacles and keep you on routes designed for larger units. Designed for the trucking industry they will also work for you. I have used several for Pickup w/38 ft tall cargo trailer and have no complaints. I'm sure there are others that work as well. Like Gdetrailer said these apps are not a replacement for watching road signs and conditions. Waze,Garmin and others were designed more for passenger vehicles to get from A to B quickest route possible not factoring vehicle size. Waze and Google maps do help with realtime traffic conditions and will change routes while driving but will put you in a tight spot with large rigs if not careful.

RE: Credit Cards For Fuel Discounts

Have you checked some of the apps for your phone from the oil companys. For example Exxon/Mobil gives points that give rebates at the pumps when using the app to pay at the pump. Upside is an app that gives cash rebates up to 25 cents a gallon and also a % at restaurants. Can be deposited in your bank account or varios gift cards.

RE: brake shoes

Have seen several where the linings come off the shoe itself then break into small enough pieces to come out of the drum. Most found when checking wheel bearings and not a brake complaint. seems like the bonding agent failed to hold the lining. Some still had the lining loose inside the drum.

RE: Motor Home GPS Phone AP

Try some of the truck apps such as Trucker Path, Hammer etc. you can enter your rig size (height length weight) and it will route around such obstacles.

RE: Running a/c off generator while towing

How are you going to plug the trailer into the generator? Does your trailer cord go out the front of the TT? Is your generator a built in unit? I would worry about the cord being pulled out of trailer if you have the generator mounted outside the camper or in the truck bed. I was going to mount generator in the back on the bumper, closer to cord, if it will work ????? Rear trailer bumpers are not built to carry any weight. Have seen more than enough torn off just from bike carriers or spare tires due to very thin material the bumper is made out of. A place to keep sewer hose is about all they were built to handle.

RE: Running a/c off generator while towing

The class A's and C's run while on the road because the dash air doesn't cool the whole rv. Just be sure your generator location vents the exhaust so it does not get pulled into the trailer or tow vehicle.

RE: Slide design by Grand Design

Changing lines won't change sequence. Lightest or least resistance goes out first. Heaviest last. Same on retraction lightest first heaviest last. Pump is pushing fluid to all 3 cylinders at the same time. Not sure if used anymore but some units a few years back had a manifold near the hyd pump with manual valves you could block off individual slides.

RE: Digital T-stat Upgrade

Fifth wheel? Ceiling is too tall to reach the fan switch. The heat a/c thermostat can easily be replaced with digital.
