RE: Just curious?

We bought a Beacon back in April. We traded in a Cameo which is an excellent trailer. Still the Beacon is a step above the cameo.

RE: Onboard genset

I had a Oman that came out of motor home. It had the take out boat tanks. It would run a long time. Bought a Beacon and it has propane gen. To be honest I like the propane.

RE: Is Good Sam worth joining?

We went with lifetime membership. We now have a Gander not far away and I got some good discounts. Also 10% discount at most campgrounds.

RE: Dish Tail gater walk away ?

We live in Texas and spend most summers in Colorado. I’ve never had a problem and just don’t worry about in. My wife was raised in Memphis Tenn. if I took Rv there I would chain it down. Just depends where your at.

RE: Tripod stabilizer

We used one for 10years. Definitely helped. We had a 31 ft. cameo with the Big Foo I had t hyd. Stabilizers. Stabilizer helped. It only had 4 legs. Now we have a Beacon from Van Leigh. It has 6 legs. We don’t need the stabilizer any more

RE: Disc Brakes in along with 8k axles.

Looks like you did a good install. Just bought a Beacon that came with disc brakes. Problem they did not work. Factory had installed wrong.

RE: Cleaning Question

When we hit Colorado (Southfork) there is a crew that comes through and washes fiver and then will polish if you want. Amazing how little they charge.

RE: New Duramax owner hitch question

I would only consider the B&W. I’ve used a lot of different hitches over the years. Got a Ford F-350 with pucks. Installed B&W and was shocked at how well it worked.

RE: Leveling help

I have used the plastic blocks. Later had a pillow that you aired until level. Course you must carry air compressor. Later got Cameo with big foot levelers. Love the big foot. We have just traded for a Beacon and has the Lippert levelers. I’m really scared of Lippert but no other choice. Any way my experience with levelers. Check big foot leveling system.

RE: Kingpin Tripod Stabilizer

I’ve used one for years. My Cameo has Big Foot hyd stabilizers. Very steady but with tripod no movement. Another reason I use it it keeps me from banging head on king pin. I’m on blood thinners and have been to drs more then once.

RE: 2017 F250 Diesel

You will be ok as long as 250 is set up to haul the weight. They need the towing capacity as well as camper package. I had a 250 2011 that could not handle the weight. The rest should be handled by making adjustments either at 5th wheel hitch or king pin.

RE: You know it's slow when........

I’ve been on since 03. Got tons of helpful information. Today things are really slow.. I don’t even see enough action during summer months that I get on very often. People have always argued and cut others down. That does not help newbies stay on the forum. Hopefully we can keep forum up and gaining good quality information.

RE: RV Quality

I have a high quality rv. We were thinking about trading for a newer model however could not find one with equal quality. We have a Carriage Cameo that has very little if any Lippert parts. I’ve dealt with Lippert and they are a poor excuse. Anyway we will stick with our 31ft. Cameo, that looks like new.

RE: Ever worry about hanging limbs?

I’m definitely concerned. Hit a limp in Amarillo Tx. And took a new roof. I was very upset with myself. Now I’m watching even closer.

RE: Cameo Running Gear Option

I have the 2011 Cameo. I use a B&W hitch in 2014 DRW Ford F-350 and everything fits perfect. Not saying you don’t need to lift. Thought about getting newer trailer and realized there are very few trailers built like the Carriage products. Ours still looks new in and out.
