RE: I think I'm stuck.

Which is cheaper driving to the dealer and winterizing the trailer or have them do it? Driving to the dealer is cheaper, then them doing it.

RE: I think I'm stuck.

Take 2 gallons of antifreeze and go winterize it on the dealers lot. You might want to take a spare battery with you also; or some jumper cables. What about if the dealer says I can't NOT winterize it on their property?

I think I'm stuck.

Good morning to all. I took my T.T. to have some minor issues fix to the dealer which I bought it from. It has been a month and the dealer is waiting on manufacture to approve the 2 windows that are leaking. I called Friday to find out the status of my T.T. and they asked me if I wanted to have the trailer winterized, I asked the person if they were going to do it at no cost to me, and she said no. I feel if you have my T.T. well into winterizing time they should do it. She said for me to get the trailer winterize it and bring it back. This dealer is NOT around the corner. Please advise, and thank you all in advance Respectfully.

RE: Material on outside of slide out warping

I have a 2013 Springdale with a single 12' slide out and when it is out I can see the thick plastic material (panels) on the front and back is warping pretty bad. The sealant around it on all sides looks fine and all the screws are tight and intact. It seems to be getting worse and I have no clue what can be causing it. IS there supposed to be some sort of adhesive behind the panels keeping them flat against whatever is behind them? Please show a picture.

Is there something wrong here?

On my last trip when I was opening the slide I noticed and heard the slide shake, make loud noise as if was to fall apart. And just now I try to open it, again and the same issue. Please advice if all it needs is grease, oil or service? Thank you all for your help... :h

RE: State Park.

:oIllinois state parks are hit or miss as far as how nice they are. The older ones tend to be in need of some upkeep. I stayed at Lake Le-Aqu-na a few weeks ago and they will be shut down next year for repairs. Rock Cut near Rockford is pretty nice. I was at Illini and starved rock this weekend. Illini is small and tight for many bigger trailers. Starved rock is nicer and just 15 miles down the road. Depending on how far you want to drive if you are sightseeing near Springfield I stayed at the Army Corps of engineering Frank Bo woods campground about an huor form Springfiled Il. Full hookups. Most illinois state parks are electric only. Just goes to show how subjective this can be. We stayed at Rock Cut a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty bad. I always try to get either site 501 or 502. 502 is a concrete pad. Sites 100-124 are not very level at all. If you were in one of those sites I feel your pain. I live only 20 miles from rock cut so it's kind of a get away weekend place for me. I prefer the COE campgrounds because of the price difference with the America the beautiful pass.

RE: State Park.

The only state park in IL I was in recently had electric only. No sewer, no water. Interesting. Park was nice, tho. Chain-of-Lakes in Spring Grove, IL. Thank you for your input LadyRVer!

RE: State Park.

My wife and I spent several days at the park several years ago returning from a trip out west. We stayed at the park when we visited the Lincoln Museums. Nice park - very quiet and well maintained. Good to know, thank you.

RE: State Park.

Do you mean, Sangchris Lake State Recreation Area, IL? If so, I've never been there, but the on-line photos in Google search look awesome. We've been to a few state parks in Illinois. Never had a bad experience. Yes, Sangchris. Thank you for your input.

RE: Mosquitos

They bother my wife more than me, so she takes the box fan, turns it on facing her on either medium or high and it works. ( Never leaves home without it). Stays in the T.T. all the time. :B

LED LIGHTS

My wife can't stand the led lights on our new T.T. she would like to change them to a more warm looking type. I told her that's going to cost us an arm and a leg if we are going to change every light inside of the camper specially if it's led. Now she brings lamps into the camper for that reason, just to make it look more warm looking. I really don't know what to do:( Please help! Thank you all in advance.

RE: Slide out seal (HAVE THE PICTURE ! )

That upper bulb seal appears to be too short, as it should meet up with the vertical bulb seal. Those seals are on a track, and are slid on to fit, and in my experience have a screw fastening it at each end. The screw should go right behind the soft bulb, through the hard part that fastens to the rail. It would normally be just inside the bulb about 1/2 inch. The ends are then sealed with a silicone type glue. It looks like your glue may still be there, but did not hold, maybe for lack of screw. If the seal was simply cut short, showing this pic to the dealer, should get a replacement seal under warranty. I would do the repair yourself, it is very easy to slide old out/new in. Just have the dealer supply the replacement. Jerry Thank you Jerry..

RE: Slide out seal (HAVE THE PICTURE ! )

If you are speaking of the bulb seal and it has slid down then you are speaking of the same issue I had on one of mine. The manufacturer used a screw on the flat portion under the bulb and the rubber tore. I placed the screw above the torn hole and have not had any issue since. Gluing would be an option. I will look into this Charlie. Thank you,

Thank you.. Here's the pic.. https://i.imgur.com/U7YkW5Il.jpg

RE: Slide is slightly scrapping the vinyl floor.

Brand new Travel trailer one slide, I have the unit parked on our property and the lot is not completely level I have noticed a slight scratches on one side of the vinyl flooring. Could this be because it's not level or the slide may need to be adjusted? the scratches wipe off easy, I'm leaving on a trip this coming Friday for a week and I don't want to drop it off at the dealer for fear of not getting it back in time for my trip. Any help is appreciated... It's a brand new trailer, take it back to the dealer. I know that's a pain but its worth it. I had the same situation and accepted the small barely noticible scratch at delivery last summer but when I took it camping that scratch became a hole and eventually as I used it more and more it ripped a huge section of the flooring up. This is after the dealer said they fixed it. Took pictures and scheduled a time over the winter to bring it in. They ended up fixing the slide and replacing my entire floor. I am supper picky about every little thing within that first year and let the dealer repair it. Sounds good kfp, thank you.

RE: Slide is slightly scrapping the vinyl floor.

Jerry is right on track, open the slide, get under it and run your hand under it to feel for rough spots or debris. Address any issues you find. A call to the dealer would be good as well, but it could be something simple that you can fix quick. Will do..
