RE: Calling all Road Warrior owners - RWS, RWT, RWM

KMiller Most times when I plug into shore power, the inverter circuit breaker trips. That panel is located at the bottom of the pantry. When that happens, the battery charger will not work because it is plugged in to the same circuit. I would like to know if this fixes your issue.

RE: Calling all Road Warrior owners - RWS, RWT, RWM

TheoWarrior Following up on our charging issue. I replaced the auxiliary start solenoid with a Redarc Electronics dual sensing smart start battery isolator 12v 200A. I purchased it from Etrailer, but it is also on Amazon. This isolator is good for marine and RV applications. I am currently traveling and the problem appears to be fixed. This is an upgrade to the OEM auxiliary start switch. This battery isolator allows the house battery charger to also charge the chassis batteries. Further information can be found on the internet and it does work as described. This was an easy upgrade. I was able to DIY it. Just take the old one out and put the new one in it's place. I hope this information is helpful to you.

RE: Calling all Road Warrior owners - RWS, RWT, RWM

kmiller - I need to make a correction. The solenoid located in the battery compartment is an auxiliary start solenoid, it is not an isolator. I have been unable to locate the isolator, but I did change the solenoid. It did not fix the charging problem. I am going to replace the auxiliary start solenoid with a Redarc Electronics dual sensing smart start battery isolator 12v 200A I found on Amazon and at Etrailer. It is pricey, but it will fix the charging issue. Your problem sounds like the house battery charger which is located in the compartment with the Xantrex inverter. Ours in the basement compartment left of the entrance door. I hope this helps.

RE: Calling all Road Warrior owners - RWS, RWT, RWM

kmiller, Thanks for checking. Just got the new isolator installed and also installed a battery charger. Apparently, there is another problem because it did not fix it. Going to check a few other things and I wil report back.

RE: Calling all Road Warrior owners - RWS, RWT, RWM

Our RWM 3400 is not charging the house batteries when the engine is running. With the engine running, engaging the emergency / auxiliary switch allows current to flow from the chassis batteries to the house batteries. Everything I have read suggests there is a battery isolator in the system and it is defective. Anyone had any experience with this problem? Is there a battery isolator and where is it located? Thanks for any possible help.

We had the same issue with our monitor. Here is how I fixed it. Using the minus icon, lower the screen as far as possible. Repeatedly press the plus icon. As the screen moves up, keep the slack out by gently pushing it up with your other hand. I have had to do this several times and it will fully come to rest against the dash.

Theowarrior To connect the new TV to the stereo, I ordered Prozor Digital Analog Converter (DAC) from Amazon. Connect the DAC to the optical audio out (TOSLINK). Remove the auxillary adapter from the stereo cables. Connect the stereo cables to the LR ports on the DAC. Turn on the DAC, select TOSLINK as the input. Turn on the Sony stereo by the door and repeatedly press the source button until you find which one plays through the speakers. Ours works on CD2. Hope this helps. Glad to answer any questions.

I can't help you, but that's interesting. My fan stopped working today. It isn't a plunger, it is a switch, but this fan may not be original to the MH.

RE: Calling all Road Warrior owners - RWS, RWT, RWM

Has anyone on their generator modified a slide framed tray which slides out or modify the frame for there generator so its easier to work on ? Its such a big job to change oil! If it is hard to change because you are removing the side cover, you don't have to do that. I found out after doing so. There is an access door on the bottom of the generator that makes it much easier. I also changed the fuel filter through that access door. If you don't have a manual, it can be downloaded at www.cummins.com/rv-generator-manuals That is how I figured it out. Wayne

WarriorTwin We did buy the one at Smitty's. It was originally in Louisiana and we brought it back home to the Gulf South. We really like this rig and have already put 2k miles on it. This forum topic is invaluable. Thanks to the OP for starting it and to all who have contributed. We are currently having an issue with the Jensen monitor. Thanks to you guys, we found out how to reset it.

Has anyone changed the wiper seals on the slide outs? If so, I may have questions.

RE: Calling all Road Warrior owners - RWS, RWT, RWM

Thanks for all your help Rigo, TheoWarrior, and kmiller. I was going to take photos while we had the tv down, but true-to-form, I remembered that just as the last screw went back in putting the frame back. There are several modifications we need (want) to make, such as putting in a larger TV in the living area, putting down new flooring throughout, etc. Right now, we are focusing on changing oil and filters in the generator and tuck enging. finally, finished that today and off to the beach for a week! Any suggestions for getting the musky, smell out without poisoning my dog will be appreciated. This rig seemed to have just been used for tailgating and was apparently stored in a Louisiana swamp for the past few years....whew! Anyway - Thanks again for you help!

RE: Calling all Road Warrior owners - RWS, RWT, RWM

Thanks KMiller! We have been in the Road Warrior for a few days trying to correct little problems and do some updates. So far, we think this is a great rig. We've had Class A, Class B, Regular Class C and a 5th wheel through the years. So far, this may be my favorite! The televisions really need updating though. Has anyone tried to remove the bedroom TV? At this point, we haven't been able to figure that one and would like to install a Roku. Another question for now. Does anyone have any idea where we might find manuals for the MH? The manual for the Kodiak is in the bag, but strangely, none of the MH manuals were left there. Thanks in advance for any help. Hoping to learn more from current owners.

RE: Calling all Road Warrior owners - RWS, RWT, RWM

Hello We are going to pull the trigger on a 2009 RWM 3400. I have searched for any information on this rig and am glad to stumble across this thread. I'm sure I will be back here asking questions. Nice to meet you. We are Wayne and Kathy.
