RE: New trailer (almost)

To put it bluntly, NO way in hell would they be charging for **** that I am not responsible for. Is is a done deal with your bank, credit union or whatever? This kind of stuff makes my blood boil. If it's a done deal, not looking good for you but then again if you didn't take delivery you may have some recourse. I have a DH putting pressure on me to sell our perfect TC because we have a tt now but not going to agree to nothing until I know the new acquired tt is good. Good Luck!

RE: They're back ! --- Love Bugs

We washed vehicles Sunday and the CRV had them pretty bad. They should be gone in a couple of weeks. I have seen them worse, I think last year they were not bad at all, IMHO.

RE: Refrigerator Outside Vents

Glad your fridge is doing so well. We had the rv fridge problems for 3 years and finally got it right. All about air flow and chimney effect. We added a piece of aluminum flashing at the top vent to direct the air out after we slowed the outside air turbulence down.

RE: New Truck and 5th wheel

Go BIG! We wish we had on the first truck but didn't and hindsight is 20/20. Way, Way back we got a 3500 dually and haven't regretted it. Neither one of us have any problem with driving it. Sometimes we just have to park way out in a parking lot but walking is good for ya! No regrets this time around!

RE: What do you leave behind when gone for the day?

We used to leave our rug, aluminum table and grill. "Used" too until some low life stole our aluminum table and took the rest to ranger station and said we left all our stuff. That was at a Army Corp park in Virginia. Grrr....now we don't leave anything.

RE: seat covers

A boat guy replaced a panel on our 2006 dodge. It looks great and can't tell that it was replaced. I have a camaro convertible and had katskinz put in and it looks great!

RE: Need an Overnight stop off I-95 near Walterboro SC

There is a nice small state park right off the interstate, Colleton State Park. We overnighted there one night a couple years ago. Google is your friend!

RE: GVWR or GAWR

I have to post a question here, in my province of Ontario Canada the DOT says the door sticker of GVWR is not what they go by but the GAWR is what they use to determine if you are overweight. My truck says GVWR is 10,000 lbs but my GAWR is over 11,000 lbs, the DOT licensed my truck for 11,000 lbs because I am approx. 10,500 to 10,800 fully loaded depending what I bring with me so the question I have are you legal or not if I am legal in my province? I know this has been disguised before but I could not find any threads on it. Dave HI Dave!!!

RE: Non stop fan on AC

Thanks guys! Our fiver was ducted so now I know why. I do find that I sleep better with the noise because I don't hear anything from the outside. However, watching tv can be a bite. Knowledge is power!

RE: Non stop fan on AC

Thanks Rgtopda, but there is no auto fan on AC. On the ACs there is on, off and where you can adjust the temp of the AC.

Non stop fan on AC

We currently have 2 campers, both camplite, a tt and a tc. On both of our campers the fan on the AC runs all the time. If the AC is on then the compressor will come on and then shut off but fan stays on. Hmmm....why? Is it cheaper? Both of the ACs are Dometic, one a 9200btu and the other a 13.? In the tt it sure is loud. Inquiring minds want to know if anyone can tell me. Thanks!

RE: I’ve discovered why there aren’t many 80 year old RV Techs

Wow! I hate to see ya leave but you gotta do what you gotta do. You were one of the first few I remember when getting on this forum way back. Hats off to you and enjoy but sure going to miss your intelligent post as you know knowledge is power. Thank you for your time and enjoy!

RE: Trip Report -- WA to Northern BC and Back

Great pics and trip. We recently bought a tt but still have our TC and after seeing your post it convinces me to keep our tc. I love the TC but the hubby not so much! Your post makes me want to load up and go!

RE: Removing Silicone caulk

Acetone Will acetone take off the paint? It's painted aluminum.

Removing Silicone caulk

Any ideas on how to remove and apply something different? We now have a truck camper and a 21RBS livin lite tt. The tt has a leak and somebody did a crappy job of trying to seal it. I guess we should be glad it has no wood to rot but would love to get rid of the silicone and from what I've read silicone won't even stick to itself, hence our leak. thanks....

RE: Ocala National Forest RV campgrounds and Jeep Trails

Silver River SP is nice, we haven't camped there. Have they converted that park to FHU yet? Juniper Springs NF CG is closer to the trails but I'm sure it's no utilities. The same for Alexander Springs. Salt Springs is a very popular park too. They converted some of the sites at the Silver River to FHU but not all. The FHU sites are almost always taken first as you can imagine. It's still a very nice park. We've gone hiking there several times, a very nice park on the crystal clear Silver River. It's less than 50 miles from our home so we haven't camped there. 15 minutes for us...lol!

RE: Downloading at Campground

We always keep ours on. I like having my facilities with us at all times. Then again we don't travel on many dirt back roads. Another factor is the hitch and truss that we have on truck to tow our motorcycle trailer.
