RE: Anybody still tow with an old GM?

Our 05 duramax dually is sitting in the garage waiting for and if we can go south again this winter. 112K miles and still seems like a new truck. Downsized from the alpenlite to a TT because of health. chevman

RE: Cleaning shower with grey/white "water spots".

We did 6 months each winter and Az water will make deposit's on showers but really didn't show up until 6 months of sitting at home and during the hot days that was when it showed. We sold the alpenlite in July and the shower was like new. chevman

RE: 2021 Cummins 1075 lbft peak torque at 1356 rpm

How many want any truck to pull an rv with 3 to 400K miles. Farm truck maybe. Our 05 with 111K miles drives like it is a new 05 truck. towing down the Cabbage hill that most from Wash st have driven I touch the brake 2 times to go to a lower gear. Almost 15K fifth and the 2001 8.1 liter gas was the same. Probably nobody cares but happy is good and happy new years guys if possible. chevman

RE: Cleaning shower with grey/white "water spots".

To say more about what I did first was in the home and then the fifth but I decided to past wax the walls. I was a concrete finisher for half my working life and know hard work and rubbing that past wax off was about the hardest I had to rub off and then many years later I did the easy off and the wax turned yellow and had to redo many spots but finally I did and as I type I realize that was last summer. The wax was not needed but made the removal more work. a 2001 alpenlite fifthwheel that had a shower looking new when it was sold in July. The shower was of high quality. chevman

RE: 2021 Cummins 1075 lbft peak torque at 1356 rpm

that low of rpm's probably will be higher to get up the mountain faster for most fifth pullers. Just my thinking only with no facts. chevman

RE: Cleaning shower with grey/white "water spots".

the blue can of easy off says not for aluminum. I didn't get any on our gold color Aluminum. Remember the blue can only. chevman

RE: Cleaning shower with grey/white "water spots".

Buy a blue can of easy off oven cleaner. I have had wonderful easy to do results. No fume is on the can. You could stray a small area and wait for maybe 30 minutes and wipe it off. When I do the whole shower as I have done 4 times 2 at home and 2 in fifth wheel I get in the shower and with a big plastic glass I throw water on walls and a rag to wipe off. No effort to do this . chevman

RE: Dometic RV Toilet - Model 300

This model can have this issue if you hold it open and brush inside to clean. this can move the pivot on the left side and the ball will not seal and leak. easy to fix and a u tube video showed me how and that fixed the issue. Had it for 5 winters and really like it because so easy to install a new seal. chevman

RE: 2010 Duramax Auxiliary fuel tank plumbing.

My 55 gal inbed tank switches over with a toggle switch on my sash and fuel gauge still works for either tank and also fuel used. Had it made when our 05 truck was new do march 06 before we headed home it was made and installed. We really have enjoyed what it does for us. chevman

RE: DRV height

I have a 2016 DRV 38RSSA does anyone know the exact height. Looking a an rv lot with open shed roof but have to get under 13.1 header What is the header made out of? Is this the gable end or is the header carrying the rafters? If it is 2x12's, take it out and replace it with a flitch beam. You could probably downsize it to 2x6's. My first thought was what you said but not seeing something makes it for a hard decision to give. chevman

RE: How will my new F350 behave in cold temps?

So nothing is perfect still is my thinking. I had to replace the HP valve on our 05 chev in Az 3 winters ago and when the call came to explain it was needed to be replaced ( something I already new and happy to hear) the service guy told me did you know 2 glo plugs are not working? I asked how would I know and WELL IT'S YOUR TRUCK so I said always been in Az and I understand was his comment. Funny we both laughed. The pig tail in dash I noticed was not showing when hitting key. A clue I saw but didn't understand. Always like good information for any brand to be posted. chevman

RE: Heater Motor Squeal

2015 winter we went home for Christmas. In Oct I hit the furnace and the bushing squealed as it had done for 2 first times on startup and no more but this time we were to be gone so a new motor with a bearing was installed. Not easy to remove . chevman

RE: 2021 Ram 3500 H.O.

That sucks. I give some thought every time we tow down mountains on what would I do NOW if the brakes are gone. Merry Christmas guys. chevman

RE: RV Entry Stairs - Replacement ???

We have the steps that go inside on the 2021 TT we now have. Alpenlite had the best steps we feel for strength and easy to use. Wife feels like she is not safe on the new steps and we added another hand rail. Nice steps but on a bad rainy day on a travel day might be not that great. Of course we may never travel again. chevman

wheel balancers

The centramatic wheel balancers arrived today for our 2021 white hawk. Anybody here have tried this product? I hope to test them next spring. Not thinking it will be a WOW these are great or even know they are working. Happy Thanksgiving to my new TT friends if that is even possible now. chevman

RE: Cost if Class A diesel pusher inspection

My friend had 28000 miles on his 40 ft tiffin and the cost to get it home and repaired was $47000.00. 4 different tows but mayor engine work plus other issues. Looked new also needed new injectors and a new radiator from the repair but not included. Shop paid the cost. wish you the best result. chevman Meanwhile, the other 999,999 are on the road trouble free. :R As far as an inspection, call your local truck shop and see what they have to offer. That would be nice but no one I know has been that lucky. Chevman

RE: The price of new trucks is beyond comprehension!

The 05 chev 3500 dually duramax runs better that the day we left the lot in Dec of 04 and still feels new when we tow so guess who is not buying a new chev or any brand. 111000 miles. We have a TT now so not many rv trips planned. chevman
