RE: Honda 2000: surprisingly poor oil fill tube design

our honda 1000i will get it's oil changed before we hit the road for Az. Not that hard but easy to have a little clean up. Not much of a chance It will be running but nice to keep it ready. chevman

RE: 2020 Eco Diesel

The GM engineer for the 3.0 Duramax reported the new diesel had a design life span of 150k miles. Ford made a lot of diesels that would not go that far! Which Ford made diesels? The one you love! Do we have to add trucks to Ford for you to understand? Maybe so... I still don't understand your point. As long as we are being silly what dodge diesel was made by dodge? chevman

RE: Post your tow vehicle pics here

All these beautiful trucks... then there's me... 2016 Kia Sorento towing a 19' Jayco Jay Flight around the Pacific Northwest and yes, we get strange looks. https://i.imgur.com/MTM7oI9l.jpg Howdy Towbo, We all started out somewhere, as one who has gone from why less then what you now have to the other extreme and I do mean extreme when it comes to tow vehicles and trailers, its not what you have but how much you ENJOY using it. Welcome to the forum. Dave Dave I am happy about your comments. I have said similar comments to rv'rs though the last years. chevman

RE: Old truck vs new truck

I had to deal with our 05 surging 2 winters ago in Az. Dealer and a local shop both said maybe 3 days to know the problem. In my mind I felt HPF regulator was the problem so the day I drove to the chev shop it was really surging and very soon I was told it is the HPF regulator. At this time I can't get over how sweet it runs. chevman

RE: Replacing Tires on my GMC

We have bought defenders for a GMC acadia and 2 sets of defenders for our dually 2 WD chebby truck. Drove to wash st in december 2 winters from Az. Bad road winter conditions both times and never spun a tire. Lots of michelin tires have had crack issues for years including MH's. We have had none. The 1st set was rated for 70K on the truck be replaced them at 50L. Nice even wear but tread was getting thin. I don't try to exend the miles because of towing. 50K was the warranty on the 2nd set. Nothing like fresh tires. Still waiting for a tire issue for us. Been driving for 62 years 'LUCKY' chevman

RE: Puzzling problem with Dish

We also had problems with a new tailgater and a walley receiver. Headed for Az from WA st and it was working great. Later i Casa Grande it needed to be programed and check switch every day. That sucked all winter so after calling dish and a dish outdoor tech the answer was I was on the wrong side of the road. Cable and postion on the rv were correct for their instuctions. I asked both dish ladies do you know what an rv is. The tailgater is sitting in my garage. Dish downloaded the software fix to late for me. chevman PS $2200.00 fix the problem

RE: Generac generator quits power output...UPDATE

Generac service center did a lot of testing and determined that when the GEN was under heavy load (AC) the voltage regulator would get warm and the voltage would increase. When that happened an internal resetting circuit breaker would open and cut power output from the GEN. The voltage regulator under lighter loads such as coffee maker or microwave wasn't drawing enough power to heat up the voltage regulator as this only happened with the AC on. They replaced the voltage regulator and ran the AC for over an hour and everything worked as designed. $100 labor and $100 regulator and so far, so good. Where did you get the repair done? chevman
