RE: whether you like him or not Marcus is standing for the flag

Just saw this on Fox News and wondered what was being said here. DH likes Marcus's stance, but I'm afraid I'm seeing a free ad courtesy of Fox. They LOVE stories like this.

RE: RV towable sales slowing?

I don't think the generation coming up has been given the thrill of camping and so no interest in it. and new TT's are not freebies IDK, it seems a lot of them, the 20-30 something crowd, are still tenting. They may move up to RVs in time, whether towables or self-driving. I hope so. Also some are building their own rigs and some of those set-ups are impressive...wouldn't work for this Grandma and Grandpa...we like having an air-conditioned camper with a full bath, at least for the night;) But it sure is nice to see the kids out with their little ones getting into camping!

RE: Leak-free Class-C?

My disagreement was with the idea that an owner who puts their rig under cover cares more and checks it out more frequently. Many owners will put it under cover and not look at it until the next season - that is not caring for the RV more than a person who stores it outdoors and checks it after every rain, etc. We don't have an RV garage or "carport" to store our MH under, but we do pay attention to what might be happening in that cabover area (I'd love to pull out that mattress and store elsewhere as we so rarely use it as a bed, but DH says it must stay...sigh) and DH has no problem climbing up on the roof and checking things over. Yes, we've had two leaks that required repairs and thank God our insurance came through and we could get it done right...well CW did the last repair and we still skittish...

RE: Follow up to living in RV by necessity

Congrats to OP and thanks for posting the happy ending! Regarding the smug snipes, it's not uncommon for those of us who have it relatively easy in retirement to attribute our condition to our own genius financial planning, self restraint, etc, etc. The fact is luck plays the major part in how this aspect of our lives turns out. More specifically, the absence of bad luck. Illness, derailed family, an economy that changes on the whim of others.... These things can bite anyone who was not lucky enough to have been born into affluence. This is so true. My family has been blessed. We are all in pretty good health and able to do what we need to and even what we want to. My dad is still taking care of us girls, so financially we're in a good place. But it could all go up in flames...look at what folks are going through in CA. We live where we could be wiped out by a healthy hurricane...look at the folks in Florida's Panhandle and North Carolina. You can take care of your health diligently and still be struck down by cancer or some sort of dementia. Or an accident. Yes, we worked hard to get where we are today, but I know all too well we have been blessed...with great luck and good fortune. Can't stick my nose in the air over anyone.

RE: Kudos to Coachnet.

So I take it that the both of you are CoachNet fans. We are looking at either CoachNet or FMCA and gathering pros & cons, but it appears that you two are both happy. Same here. Thanks for sharing your experience.
