Fiberglass polishing

We have a fiberglass travel trailer. One side seems to have kept its shine the other seems to have oxidized some. Is there something to special to use to get its shine back or do I have to polish and rub with regular stuff? Any advice?

lol Thanks but AOK is booked. I swear I've tried them all. In the process saw some pretty rough campgrounds.

RE: Cant find a place to stay near Harrisburg, PA, help!

Thank you all for the suggestions, and I will be checking out each one. The problem is because EVERYONE now has an rv EVERYWHERE is full! No one will take a monthly, not many will give you a week and not alot of day available at least without charging absolutely ridiculous fees. This is about the worst rving has been in all the years we've been doing it. We cant even buy a house. Had at least 20 offers last summer and no house. NOW to ad insult to injury we cant even find a place to live in the rv until we can find a house. An all time low on everything. Sorry for doom and gloom but its been a very hard year and I'm on the brink of totally giving up.

Cant find a place to stay near Harrisburg, PA, help!

Hello all, I am out of options so I thought of posting this to see if anyone had any ideas. We need a place to camp in the Harrisburg Pa area or within half hour or so. We want to try and find a house to buy, with emphasis on "try". This alone may be impossible these days, but now since the whole world owns rv's we have no where to park that doesnt charge 60 or more dollars a night. Looking for a better monthly rate so we can survive while trying to find a house and am coming up empty. Sorry to be so blunt, but I'm stressed to the max and out of options. Any ideas?

RE: Need an Education

Wow the big rigs certainly have more to know than 5th wheels or travel trailers. Thanks for the info. I keep looking at all them and are amazed how many there are. Other than the gorgeous paint jobs, the one word that always comes to mind in capital letters is BIG. To me they are just big. Which when in it would be wonderful but I am a panic pulling a small trailer, I think I'd be a mess on the road with one of those. I'm jealous of you all who can drive them so easily.

RE: Need an Education

Nope, no drama, just dont like someone telling me what I think and feel, and that my questions have underlying meanings, thats all. I'm sorry your life is so empty you feel the need to attack someone on this forum. No big deal, that's your problem not mine. You have a great day!

RE: Need an Education

Well way2roll, I had thought this was a friendly forum, I was wrong. You are exactly the type of person we try to avoid anywhere we go, now I guess I will avoid this forum also.I'm amazed everyday of what this country has come to, and you've just proven it to me yet again. Thank all of you who DID explain why you leave your rigs running. We had no idea jacks and slides needed the motors on, and learned alot more about the big rigs we also didnt know, so thank all of you FRIENDLY rv'ers who didnt tell me why I posted here at all. I got more of an education than I needed.Thank you

RE: Need an Education

I will say I took offense to your post Bill. I am an adult and you dont know me from Adam, so please dont tell me why I asked the question I asked. I never claimed to like the ritual, just didnt know if there was a logical reason why they did this since I've not had a class A in many years. So maybe next time, read a post and try not to analyze and put your own spin on it. None of the other posters seemed to have a problem with answering the question.

RE: Need an Education

Okay, case to point. Sitting here reading all your posts a guy came in and the rv has been running for 15 minutes. He's out there sitting down. It's not a big enough battle, hence just ads to another reason why I'm done rv'ing, but certainly didn't make the decision. To one who asked why I care? Well I see nothing good about sitting next to or within hearing of all these rigs and having to listen to them for so long. If it wasnt a big deal, maybe you'd see more rv's sitting in truck stops. There are some campgrounds that honestly are mostly the big rigs, some not so much. But I have noticed over the years that consideration for your neighbors which are right there, is less and less. One thing if your the only one in the camping area or campground, but most of the time, YOU ARE NOT. Have a little consideration for the other campers, that's all I'm saying and honestly only posted this because I do not have a big rig and wanted to find out if this was nessesary. We figured it was not.Maybe some with think about it now, maybe not. lol

RE: Need an Education

3-5 minutes seem reasonable, but most leave them running for 15 or more minutes, and heard them run for almost 30. They turn them on and they havent even disconnected water and sewer. I would never think to start my truck before I was disconnected at least. Also, why do you need the motor to be running to get slides in? Cant you get them in by being plugged in? No I'm not quiting rving for this reason although we've been on the road for 2 yrs, one the past in the pandemic and we've had enough. Way to many people with rv's anymore, its just not like it used to be, but I do appreciate finding out that its not me being to stupid to figure out why people leave there rigs running so long, but sadly then that means there are many more stupid people out there. lol lol

Need an Education

We have been on the road now for 2 years and honestly we are nearing the end. There are a few mysteries to rv'ing we still have not figured out, and with the pandemic making everyones patience short, there are a few annoying things we do not understand, so thought we should ask the reasons why. SO, the most irritating thing in regards to the big rigs and some big truck and 5th wheel truck drivers, mostly the big rigs. The question is :Why do most of you feel the need to leave your vehicles running for long amounts of time before you pull out and long amounts of time when you pull into a campsite? If there is no logical reason for this, I'll think I'll give up on mankind all together. Any logical reasons?

RE: Anyone know anything about Thousand trails? Good or bad

Thank you all so much for the info. We have fulltimed now for almost 2 years and this is for the second time. It was a way to sell a house and move but the housing market is out of control so we are staying in the rv for much longer than I wanted. I had started seeing TT and Encore but didnt know what there deal was, I more understand a little better, but its way to hard to keep track and puts even more planning time on us and thats not how we roll. I completely agree this is probably NOT something I can get my money out of or deal with keeping up with, and I cannot stand dumpy campgrounds, which most seem to be anymore.Geeze I wish Rv'ing could go back to the way it used to be before WHE WHOLE WORLD had a dang rv. Getting thru winter and we are done. Thank you all so much. I knew I could get some good advice here.

RE: Anyone know anything about Thousand trails? Good or bad

Okay so how do I buy "resale"? Sorry I dont know enough to understand your post biscuit. I would only get for the southeast, not for the whole country. What is a resale membership? And acampingwewillgo, did you find most of the campgrounds not "resort" like?I had the impression TT was really nice places, but dont really know.

Anyone know anything about Thousand trails? Good or bad

We are fultiming for the winter. Do not have any reservations yet as with the way this world is changing day by day, it's making it hard for us to plan much in advance. I've heard a few campers mention Thousand trails but cant quite get what sounds like reliable information on what exactly you are paying for and if you can really make your money back by joining. Someone said you stay free, but can only stay 14 days, then have to leave for 5 and then you can stay in any of there parks again for 14 days free. Free every time you go. Also was told there are always spots kept open for members so you wont be told that a place is booked. So can anyone fill me in on the truth? Good deal, bad deal?
