FYI zantrex charger inverter in 2001 Discovery

This summer we found the source of all our electrical issues with the motorhome. According to all the EXPERTS I talked to the coach and chassis electrical circuits are separate, but when the electrical in our motorhome failed 100%, I still had good battery charge but absolutely no electricity anywhere, When I changed out the inverter, everything came back on. So all circuits run thru the inverter/charger. Just wanted to pass along what I learned

RE: Double Towing Length Laws

I am right close to 70 feet with my DP , trailer toad and toyhauler. Toss like a dream on all but the worst roads

Odometer error

My 2001 fleetwood DP odometer reads a lot more miles than I have actually travelled. Could this be due to a shorter tire installed by previous owner, and what can I do to correct it?

Interstate 80 thru Wyoming and Nebraska

We are planning a trip to Nebraska, and Illinois this summer and I was wondering do I need to be overly concerned about winds thru Wyoming and eastern Nebraska. I know there are issues during the winter understandably. Has anyone else got information. Thanks in advance. Merrill

RE: Can I use a WDH on a DP

My DP hitch states to not use WDH with airride. I got a trailer toad to go with the 8000 lb toyhauler and it was the best decision I ever made for towing. No sway or swerve from passing trucks except for the worst roads. I definitely can recommend the trailer toad, it does add another 3 feet to your O/A length, but definitely worth it. Good thing The limit here in Nevada is 70 because I am at 68.5.. Tows like a dream

RE: Have no electrical power and no propane on one side of coach

Made it home safely, when I got to where we needed the heater, I found a wire hanging off the propane tank that apparently went to the gauge panel to tell me how full the tank is. Got home and plugged coach back in to my 110 plug and all seems to be working now. Will have to check the power connection next trip to Texas.

RE: Have no electrical power and no propane on one side of coach

Turning on the generator has given me back the missing power, so do you think the transfer switch is failing. We are in a rest area 150 miles from the New Mexico border and heading home.

RE: Have no electrical power and no propane on one side of coach

Thanks for the many suggestions. I should have been more specific, we are staying with family here in Texas. I am plugged in to a 30 amp plug just to keep things charged up, that’s why I was trying to run the appliances on propane so as not to take too much electricity and that is how I came to find no 120 V power on passenger side of coach, save for 1 outlet in the bedroom. I am going to try and locate transfer switch in the morning before we leave and check voltages. Will let y’all know what I find, but the kids have to be back to school Tuesday so we gotta get going. IS IT POSSIBLE FOR THE INVERTER TO BE BAD ON ONE SIDE AND GOOD ON THE OTHER

RE: Have no electrical power and no propane on one side of coach

The power issue is either a GFI outlet that has tripped or the inverter. These are the outlets with a red reset button on them. You may have only one or two on your coach. The other thing to check is the circuit breakers on your inverter itself. Most usually have two circuit breaker buttons that can trip. These are on the inverter and NOT in your main circuit breaker power panel. I should have added that your salesman switch, usually by the door, may have be switched off which would keep 12 volts from going to either the WH or the furnace. With no 12 volts, neither will work. 50 amp service, 2 switches on inverter, do not act like breakers, no click when moved, could 1 of those be bad

RE: Have no electrical power and no propane on one side of coach

Need help, 1800 miles from home, I have lost the 120 volt power on passenger side of my 2001 Fleetwood Discovery and the propane does not work to the heater or refrigerator. The other day I started the coach as the batteries were low and let it run for about 15 minutes. I also Reset the a/c out 1 and 2 on the inverter and when I checked the bathroom lights, they came on. I releveled the coach and shut off the engine. As it got dark, I turned on the heater and it was working fine. Came back later to put the boys to bed and heater was blowing cold, ignition failure on the hot water heater and again no lights in bathroom.. Any advice as to what is wrong, we need the heater going home as it will be colder. Merrill What is the salesman switch , what does it look like

RE: UPDATED: Arizona (not Nevada) roads question

last week I traveled I 40 east in Arizona and the road was terrible. I am a motorhome towing. Next week I have to travel it again. Can anyone tell me if I 10 would be better? I could take that and connect back to I 40 via I 25 later. Does I 40 get better after Arizona? .Thoughts? thx We drove 10 to Texas back in June, road wasn’t too bad but getting there via 93 from kingman was horrible, much much worse than 40. My opinion FWIW.
