RE: sceamig help for my 2000 rexall airbus

Load an app called Blue driver. You purchase the dongle for about $50. FANTASTIC PRODUCT! Reads more than just the check engine light codes.

RE: If I went to a Progressive Dynamics Converter.......

Doesn’t sound like much of an upgrade for a bunch of money and time. Sounds like a FANTASTIC upgrade! I purchased a 93 Pace Arrow Diesel that had 4 toasted 6v GC batteries. Canned the charger and went with a Progressive Dynamics 60aml model with the charge wizard. If your not 100% sure about your house batteries replace them! I installed the PD and purchased 4 Sams Club GC 6 volters. Make absolutely sure you cables are 100%. I got 12 years off that set of batteries!

RE: black tank chemicals

As stated we full time. We are hooked up to park septic. We keep black tank valve closed and dump about every two weeks. We do keep gray valve open but if its going to be below freezing during the day i will close gray. Shower nights, 2 times/week. If black tank nearing full I'll close gray b4 showers. After showers will dump black then open gray. No pyramid in our black tank.

RE: DIY battery cable supplier

Yep, us IT folk have lots of pc's and parts but I got rid of my stash when we went full time. Kinda nice to be able to say, I don't have the room when offered free stuff!

RE: black tank chemicals

If anybody told me my s--t didn't stink I wouldn't believe them. I don't believe yours doesn't stink either. It simply defies reality. If you're using only water, I sure don't want to be around while you're dumping or for long while afterwards. Water only works, but if you don't get it, you don't get it. Thousands of people using only water with no issues. But I guess they are all wrong.... EXACTLY Can you say roof vent stack? Plus, I'm connected to septic and dump about every two weeks.

RE: black tank chemicals

Gee all you folks throwing money down the drain,, LITERALLY THROWING MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN. I use water Amen I'm a full timer that uses water as well! I did install a couple of those wind vanes that put slight negative pressure on tanks while driving down the road! Hmmm, i need to get into the black tank chemical biz! Sounds like a money maker!

RE: Atwood Furnace Problems

Might be a good idea to give us the MODEL of the furnace. Sounds to me like the sail switch. On some of the Atwoods they have couple of crappy wire taps off of the control board. I know one of the blue wires that feed the sail switch feeds off of one of the two taps. While the furnace is running I shook/moved the wires in front of the plastic cover over the heat exchanger blower and the blower would stop. That switch your referring to, I believe its a circuit breaker. I'm sure others will chime in. Thanks for the post.

RE: DIY battery cable supplier

Chum lee, McMasters good suggestion. I will look into them as well GDEtrailer Nice write up & pics. Great idea making your own lugs! I noticed those quality lugs can get up to the 5.00/pop! One pic looked like you sleeved that one end. You guys got me thinking! Thanks

RE: DIY battery cable supplier

and if your going to use cable larger than about 10ga (small wire number) look into a good hydraulic crimper, avaiable on ebay at reasonable prices. especially once you get to cable sizes from 4ga down to #0000. crimp, cover with adhesive lined heat shrink. All of mine I used welding cable I cut to length, again cable cutters avaiable on amazon or ebay. Since welding cable is usually only available in black, I use red or black heat shrink as appropriate. I do have a cable cutter that kinda looks like a big pair of pruning shears. I have a cheapo hydraulic crimper from I believe Harbor Freight. Xantrex Freedom 458 feeding house batteries. Going with 2ga stranded with 5/16 lugs finishing off with the sealant type heat shrink tubing. Oh, on the heat shrink tubing, what size for 2ga with bell shaped lugs? I noticed they also sell the little solder pellets but im sure crimp vs solder lugs would be another thread, subject. I will have to google that one. Thanks again for the reply's

RE: furnace fan

Trailrider Both Doug and myself are very aware that the OP did not state that his furnace was an Atwood. ZRuss, the OP joined this forum back 2004. Perhaps, someday he will return to this post and let us all know what model furnace he has. Atwood or not, interesting information being passed around. I have done my own work on my Discovery and many other rv's. Not as much as Doug and some others. Again I would like to thank Doug as well as the others for their contributions to these rv forums. Waiting for the day Zruss posts the make of his furnace and of most importance, the outcome.
