RE: Border

He suggested finding a good field near Emerson and "drive it like you stole it". I replied that I do not want to make license plates in my dying days LOL! :B But the flat-bed towing scenarios sound very interesting. I still wonder if RV caravan Mexico outfits have a solution worked out for Canadians wanting to traverse the US from Mexico ? Hmmmmm..... There is no solution for Canadians in Mexico who want to land cross into the USA. Our RV Canadian market is gone as of March 2020. Our USA market is super strong though. I know of a couple of Canadian women here in Penasco that needed to get back to Canada for some kind of emergency, they could not land cross, so they took the bus to Mexicali and flew home, then a few weeks later came back to Penasco not planning to leave again until the blockage is over. I think it is a political strong arm thing myself.

RE: Doctor in Puerto penasco.

I have used this clinic a few times in the past, they are a very well trained team. San Jose Clinic, Blvd. Benito Juárez García 215, Centro, 83550 Ejido del Centro, Son., (01152)638 383 5121. Call them to see if they can do what you need, I am sure they can.

RE: Border

Apparently Biden wants the CDN. and Mexican border open at the same time. Presently Mexico does not have the virus under control. Therefore both will remain closed. Unbelievable!!!! If that was the case then nobody would be crossing to and from Mexico....yet our border crossing numbers are huge. Every condo hotel or house that is available has been rented this whole year by American tourist , who then can return to the USA from Mexico, every Friday there is a huge influx from the States and every Sunday or Monday there is a huge exodus from Mexico.....so the idea that Mexico doesn't have it under control is lost on that fact. My drivers who are Mexican cannot cross the border in the vans but the American Citizens drivers can. They are coming from the same country, the only difference is citizenship.....there is more to it than that!

RE: How we got to live in Mexico, it has to do with RVs

Great story. How is this year shaping up? Are reservations up from 2020? Thanks, 2020 was a great year, we got shut down (c-19 protocols) the day after I took our last caravan back to the border in March 2020, but we are booked from January to April with more than 100 rigs total, we have some smaller outings from October to November and still not sure what the numbers are on that but overall it is going to be a good year. Not a great year but a good year!

How we got to live in Mexico, it has to do with RVs

This is a story my wife wrote many many years ago about our adventure starting a caravan company. It has been updated to reflect the passing of time, I hope you like it. We did it!

RE: Fausto Proposes Free Access of RVs Into Mexico

Fausto is a good guy. We met over 25 years ago in Kino Bay where he owned a nice RV park that we used for our caravans. Glad to see he is still active in the RV community

RE: Telecommunications Reform (Cell Phone Service/Biometric Data

My online banking with BBVA is tied to my smart phone. In order to access my accounts on my phone which I need to do in my business I needed to have my biometric scan done for the bank. So I can be tough and say I won't, then lose my banking flexibility or comply and have it done. I have been with BBVA Bancomer for over 14 years, they have never messed with me (except for long waits in the bank) before so I don't think they will start now. Anything I can do to stay out of the actual bank is OK with me.

RE: Deleting and Closing A Thread

Why isn't there a concerted effort between the three North American countries? clay and lead don't mix.

RE: Ixtapa Trailer Park

Thanks for this post. As some of you know I am in an RV and tourism related business here in Mexico. My tour company has been shut down since March 17th 2020, that is for private tours in my vans. I have little to no overhead, and am debt free. So we are going to be able to ride it out. When the market comes back... and it will, I will be glad to see it. This year we did have 4 RV caravans come to Puerto Penasco for a combined 54 rigs over a 3 week period. All sanitary protocols were followed by everyone who came here plus all of my vendors on the ground here and it was good to see these folks travelling safely again. We miss our Canadian friends though and hope that restrictions are lifted for season 2022. I already have 6 caravans scheduled for 2022 (close to 100 rigs) so there is a big demand. Hasta la vista, hopefully next year!

RE: Baja Trip In 2022

If you are an adventurer, you will love Baja. We live in mainland Mexico where we can get anything we want commercially. In Baja once you get south of Ensenada that access changes, probably in a good way. As stated above gas stations can be far apart...especially if you are using a guidebook to direct where you get gas. Quick story on our first trip down, my wife was "nagivating" the trip and she had me pass a station north of Catavina, we were on our way to Guerrero Negro. The guide said there was a station in Catavina...guess what? The station was abandoned. We went a little further and realized we were not going to find any gas. We turned around to Catavina where we saw guys selling gas out of 50 gallon barrels. We got in line and we literally bought the last 8 gallons at about 8.00 us per gallon. We were glad to pay it as it got us to our next destination GN. It is raw, it is exciting, it is a great trip! We like to stop in all the small places along the way and discover the people who live there and find out about them. We will be back in Baja this winter from our home in Sonora when all this C19 stuff is over or waning. Have a fun trip!

RE: Reef RV in Rocky Point status

Its in good shape and very quiet, the cruise jetty is abandoned so no construction noise. Wrecked at the Reef restaurant and Mare Blu are both open and pretty busy, no hassles at the border as of today. Masks are required everywhere so be sure to have them.

RE: Big RV arrived in Zihuatanejo today

In Penasco it's a diferent story, Playa de Oro park is 30% occupied, Playa Bonita is about 50-60% and the Reef RV Park is about 20%, Concha del Mar which is on the water but has no hookups has a good occupancy right now and there are rigs coming in everyday. I expect 4 large caravans starting in February and continung through March and into April.
