RE: Dead batteries

If your Sunova is like my 2003, you won't be able to start the generator until you have a charge on the house batteries. I should also ask if you checked the house batteries disconnect switch. It should be on the left of the entry door. If the batteries are disconnected it will seem like they are dead.

RE: How to sanitize new RV water system

I'm with Bumpy, tried the hose method and it was cumbersome to get the bleach in the hose and keep it there while connecting it to the RV. The filter method is so much easier.

RE: 1993 Itasca chev 454 will not start

I recently had similar problem in a 2003 on a Workhorse chassis. My problem was caused by a critter chewing through one of the many wires going to the engine computer. Found it by sheer luck when I noticed a bunch of chewed up acorns on the front of the computer.

RE: How often to disconnect from shore power

I'd disconnect the chassis battery if the MH is not being driven for 6 months at a time. Disconnect the house batteries when the MH is in storage. The house batteries need to be checked for water levels frequently when not disconnected.

RE: RV magazine

Plan to let my subscription run out in June. Not as good as it once was.

RE: Part for Winnebago 2005 Voyage

Have you tried Mobility R.V. Inc www.winnebagoparts.com? I last year I got a rear trim panel for my 2003 Itasca Sunova. New part in black which I had to get painted.

RE: Disney Transportation question

What we really liked about staying at the Fort was that we could easily go back to our rig for lunch/dinner or for a break. We'd also go back to the rig to avoid some of the really crowded times.

RE: Warm weather traveling

When we had a 24ft class C with factory air. The dash air was able to keep the cab area cool. I attributed this to the smaller glass area of the windshield and cab over bunk shielding the windshield from the sun and reducing the area to be cooled. Now in our class A there is no way that the dash air can keep the cab area cool. I attribute this to the very large windshield. We always run the gen and usually only one of the two ACs. I learned long ago not to worry about MPG when driving our house down the highway. It is what it is.

RE: ? "Easy" Toilet Blade Seal Replacement?

Not if you are careful removing the old seal and installing the new seal. I yank the old seal out using a needle nose pliers and then very carefully insert the new seal being sure to get the seal in the slot around the rim of the opening. You'll have to hold the blade back using the foot pedal while doing this. pay attention to the orientation of the old seal so you get the new seal in the same way.

RE: Water Pump and Battery Question

Since the pump load increases when running the hot water I'd check to see if you have a check valve on the outflow line of the water heater that is partially blocked or about to fail.

RE: Issue with house batteries

It was a box in the corner along the outside wall towards the rear of the MH. It is always on. You should hear its fan running a lot.

RE: Issue with house batteries

I have a 2003 Itasca Sunova 33L. Unless the previous owners replaced it you have a basic converter. In my unit it is located under the refrigerator behind the circuit breaker panel. It is accessed by removing the drawers under the refrigerator. Early on I replaced the OEM converter with a smart converter that does a lot of things the original converter didn't do. I also changed the batteries to two 6volt batteries in series.

RE: First time out problems

With the P30 chassis the park brake needs the be applied before the jacks will function.

RE: Tow Bar Age

I rebuilt my 14 year old Blue OX tow bar before our trip to Alaska in 2017. I took it completely apart, checked all welds for cracking, had it sandblasted, repainted it, and replaces all fasteners, washers, and springs. Now it's good as new.

RE: CITY WATER CONNECTION DRIP?

In my experience, the cheap male ends of the white hoses you get at camping supply stores get flattened over time which is the cause for the leaks. Even good washers don't help. Get hoses with good brass ends (hard to find) or replace the ends with good brass fittings.

RE: refer stopped working on gas

Sometimes the slots on the orifice deteriorate and the flame doesn't hit the sensor correctly. Have had to replace mine twice.

RE: no hot water from taps

My guess is the check valve on the out flow conection to the water heater. Happened to me.
