RE: Starting Over - Heart Attack

You can rent a RV in many countries. Most rentals will be a class C or B. Several people on YouTube have rented an RV in Europe or New Zealand.

RE: Great Movie

My 2 favorite genres are sci-fi and westerns, although some sci-fi films contain bad language, especially newer ones. Westerns don't appear to have that problem. So you would probably like the movie Cowboys and Aliens. It is a good movie with Harrison Ford. Western and sic-fi in one movie.

RE: Question about window tinting

The dark tint of the RV windows will reduce the heat inside the RV. An additional automobile style tint will reduce the heat and UV light inside the RV but make it darker inside. A dark window tint does not attract more heat like a black painted surface does. Shades or curtains pulled down will also reduce the heat inside a RV. On a MH the passenger, drivers window and front window tint are regulated by state and federal laws. The rest of the RV is considered a house. You have to read the manufactures specification to determine if a reflective tint is better then a non reflective tint. Tint brands are different. Are reflective sun glasses better for your eyes then a non reflective sun glasses?

RE: Standard hitch vs. gooseneck hitch

You may want to look at the Reese Goose Box or the or GEN-Y Executive pin box adaptor. Others may damage your frame or void your warranty.

RE: New Dually - Need Hitch, Toolbox, Rolling Cover Advice

I have the Revolver X4 for one year and have had no problems. I don't live in a cold climate which may make a difference in appearance. The tool box will have to be an under the rails tool box if you want to use a cover. Even with the cover rolled up I don't know if you will be able to open the tool box. The new trucks are high so you may need a small ladder to reach the items in your tool box. It would be nice if they made a tool box were the lid would slide towards the middle of the box.

RE: Campfire story about "you and space?"

It would have to be a Toy Hauler so I could pick up all them Mars rovers we have sent to Mars over the years. I would use the rovers as my 4x4 side by side to go off road. The TH would have to be a 4 season TH due to the cold winters I hear they have on Mars.

RE: Disposable Razors Observation

I get my blades from the Dollar Shave Club. The back of the blade has a blade for trimming my sideburns. Much cheaper then Gillette blades. I use a hockey soap puck that I keep in a mug. I wet the puck and apply the soap with a shaving brush. I pay around $2 per soap. Some shaving cream/gel clog up the blades on a multi-blade razer then they don't cut well.

RE: Want CD player for new truck

I use to make copies of my original CDs and keep the copy in my truck to prevent the original from getting damaged. My new truck does not have a CD player so I copied many of my CDs to a USB drive and plug the drive into a USB port in my truck. Now I don't have a stack of CDs in my truck (clutter). I have 43 CDs on my USB drive. I also checkout audio books on CD from my library and copy them to a separate USB drive I keep all of my audio books on. I have also copied many of my old LPs to a USB drive and paly my old LPs in my truck.

RE: Truck Shopping for Fiver

As already stated a long bed ford has a 48 gallon tank and a long bed Chevy/GMC has a 38 gallon tank. Not sure what a long bed Ram's tank size is. Just make sure you get a small step ladder. They are making them really tall these days.

RE: Towing Travel Trailer without WDH from Dealer

Find the hitch you like. Then download the manual and read it so you have an idea on how the hitch is installed and adjusted. Even if you don't install the hitch yourself you will have a better understanding of how the hitch is installed and works. I like the safety of a WD hitch.

RE: It was a windy day

What was their hitch rated for? The safety chains attach to the hitch and the hitch held. Glad to see they were ok.

RE: Who can be the last poster?

Going to hit the 90s this week. It got down to 45 for a few days in January which was nice.

RE: CC&R dated 1973 says no RVs, trailers, boats can be stored

With no active HOA who is enforcing the rules? Who is going to fine you? Does the HOA have an attorney? In most states it is a civil matter and not a criminal matter so, government will not get involved. Do you have to pay HOA fees? If you pay HOA fees then, who is collecting the fees?

RE: How Important is Garage Storage?

Get the TT you like and worry about storing it in the garage or outside later. What good is a TT if it is to small for you to enjoy.

RE: Paperwork

That was a Hotshot driver who makes a living delivering RVs and anything under 26,000 pounds. Over 26,000 pounds he needs a CDL license. He is also limited to driving 11 hrs. So, he needs a log book.

RE: WDH or not?

The first TT went past a truck and I bet the wind from the truck cased that TT to sway. Several others were to large for the TV. Most people will not react fast enough to stop the sway or don't know how to stop the sway. Not all of the trailers appeared to be loaded tail heavy.

RE: WDH or not?

So you don't need sway control. Some of the trailers in this video are tail heavy.

RE: Your Fuel/Oil comments - please post here

WTI Crude for Feb 27, 2021 is $63.45 a barrel. In south Florida diesel has gone up $0.50 in two months.
