RE: Myrtle Beach Camping World

Typical dealer response; can't get authorizations or parts... Blah, blah, blah. I admit it is hard to get authorizations and parts when no one actually calls or places an order. I also like the line about being 7 techs short. Well then fire 7 sales dudes and stop selling until the shop catches up. Yeah right.....

RE: Deceptive traffic citations

Google traffic lawyer for that town and give them a call. Chances are they can get the ticket reduced to a non moving violation which will not affect your insurance.

RE: I Think I'm Outta Here

It seems like there is less and less posted here lately. Don't know why but it seems kind of dead. I'll check in from time to time but this site likely won't be on my daily list any longer. Numerous ongoing Forum error messages that apparently aren't being addressed or at least publically I'm sure is keeping many members from participating. Not sure what the problem is and really confused as to why no one in authority is commenting on this problem.

RE: Error Messages

Only way I can get in is using IE. Google and Firefox always gives the error message. Edit that: Seems logging in causes this issue. My computer auto signs be in. If I disable that and log in as a guest it goes right through. Are there are mod's or admin's here anymore? Interesting that no one in a position of authority is responding.

RE: Hearing aids

I got mine at Costco, for less than half the, price of the “hearing specialists “ Same here. Very satisfied and the aids cost 1600. Great trial period (6 months) too.

RE: When do you throw in the towel?

If the old vehicle left me stranded while towing a trailer, it would be gone before sun down. I can stomach fixing things when I'm home and on my terms. It's a whole 'nother story when you are sitting along side some interstate with big rigs whizzing by you at 75 mph and 3" off your mirrors.

RE: Hurricane Dorian

There are some land masses on this earth that should not be inhabited by man on a full time basis. The Bahama's is one of them. Beautiful place to be sure but every fall, they get wiped clean.

RE: Ram Sales Increasing

Wow, talk about a topic going sideways ! OP posts about sales numbers and next thing is we are arguing on how to wash a truck.

RE: Saw my first 2020 GMC HD camping this weekend

Not sure why the wheel wells need to be so darn large and open. Makes the wheels look like toys. Definitely do not like those lights over the wheels.

RE: Looking into a 2017 Grand Design

Own a 2015 27RL. Long time member of the GD forum as well as several GD FB groups. IMO, GD has gotten to big, to fast and as a result, quality control has suffered. In general, the rigs being pumped out today are no where near the build quality of the early years. Additionally, customer support is hit and miss proposition as well. Some owners call and get 5 star treatment ehile others are left dangling in the wind. Two years ago, I was convinced that our next RV would be nothing other than another GD product. Today, if I were looking, I would be comparing offerings from the competition as well. I don’t believe the GD units are built any better then those coming from other manufacturers.

RE: Video of why 1/2 tons shouldn’t tow 5th wheels

He's not a vehicle or RV salesman. He's a self anointed YouTube expert who has garnered enough followers (AKA Sheep), who has attracted the attention of truck and RV aftermarket sellers that provide him with a plethora of free **** which he then "reviews". I believe his real job is a 911 dispatcher. So no way he can afford all the toys, trucks, modifications and **** he installs and "reviews". Obviously his channel is popular enough that hundreds(maybe thousands) flock to his videos to listen to him pontificate and babble on about topics that he thinks he knows all the while being entertained by videos of the camera shooting out the windshield of his newest truck filming his ride driving down roads. He trades trucks like a normal person changes socks.

RE: Traveling to Myrtle beach

When you get to Charlotte, take I-485(Pineville) which takes you around Charlotte. Better road and adds no time to the trip. 485 will drop you back onto I-77 below Charlotte. I-77 thru Charlotte is a ***T show.

RE: Ram 2500 - which towing features are best/good/unnecessary?

CarMax is overpriced and they get their vehicles from the same places as every other used car dealer out there. To the OP, you found out what many others before you have found; used diesel trucks are not much of a bargain compared to a new truck.

RE: They don't make em like they used to.

I would look at the grand design lineup. They seem to be at or near the top for materials and quality and still in the realm of affordability. That statement might of been true 3-4 years ago. Not today. They are no better then FR or Thor offerings.

RE: Are Idaho Ram dealers worth the drive?

Just an fyi. At Dillon, you have to finance the vehicle through the company they use. You can then refinance later if you wanted to. I thought that was a little odd but did not go through with it. He definitely have very good prices, just be sure to read any fine print. I did not buy a vehicle through them. All this is irrelevant, if you are paying with cash I think. No you don’t unless you want to qualify for another $1000 off or something like that. They had a 3 -6 month min carry without penalties too. It “could” net you about 1/2 the finance discount if you played it right, but not significant if you have cash or a better rate Bought mine from Dillon. Said I had to keep their financing(at the time it was through Bank of America) for 6 months. I drove the truck home and refinanced through our credit union the next week. No issues and not a peep out of Dillon or BOA. Dillon beat the 10 or so local dealers by over 4 grand on price too. This was on a factory ordered truck.

RE: Texas RV Dealer makes a good move

If it were me, I'd run the new RV thru the PDI bldg. leaving it hooked up to the delivery vehicle and finding any defect, I'd tell the delivery driver to drag it right back to the factory 2 miles up the road and let them fix it.

RE: New Camping World Bash

Same ole bashers everytime. I'm sure you feel that badmouthing CW is hurting their sales. Each of you say you will never spend another penny there. I'm sure Marcus is happy that you do not take up space in his stores. Based on recent news of the CW empire, I think that we are having an effect on the sales (or lack thereof). The good news is that our absence leaves plenty of space in the aisles for you and your shopping cart.

RE: Camping World shuffles executive management

Isn't there a forum rule about just posting a link without any commentary? If not, there should be. This is what one writes when one happens to run short of prunes for breakfast. --------------------------------------------------------------------- From the press release "We will also have an intense focus on dramatically reducing our retail inventory levels and aggressively reducing capital expenditures to maximize and drive free cash flow". That can't be good news for Thor as they supply most of the RV's for CW.
