RE: Ways to Save on Fuel at Pilot Flying J

You need to swipe your credit card first. It then asks for your loyalty card. However, the largest discount (14 cents on diesel) is available if you get the Pilot/Flying J/Goodsam credit card. Ken

RE: Rv Trip Wizard question

You use the RV Life App. Available Free in the app store. Middle tab on the bottom will bring up all of your planned trips. Ken

RE: Any Denver area C owners? Alignments???

You don't say what chassis you have, but we used to take our 2010 36FK Seneca to John Elway Chevy (old Burt) on South Broadway. I believe they can do the chassis work. We had the C5500 Chassis. Ken

RE: Please read the signs....

We were coming back from Denali last year back to Wasilla following two rentals. Both drivers were not from Canada or the US, but had rented from Canadream. They stuck to the speed limit EXACTLY. The problem was they were driving exactly KPH instead of MPH. I thought I was going to go nuts. It took almost the entire trip down to get around them. Ken

RE: Saving Planned Trips

I finally gave up on the GS Trip Planner. My issues: 1. Cannot upload to a GS GPS 2. Cannot save a trip. 3. Only shows campgrounds on route. The old one you could see all campgrounds with a click. 4. Keeps randomly changing the route. 5. Limited to 25 stops. We purchased the RV Trip Wizard (annual subscription). So far the app and website are awesome. We have completely planned our 2020 Alaska trip and are ready to make reservations and key stops. Ken I got info that the GS Trip Planner is still work-in-progress and promises features inputted by members (???). Looking forward to getting update on your Alaska trip on a separate thread. I kept hearing it's not doable on RV and people kept on suggesting a pricey ferry in between to make it viable.. This is our 4th trip up from Florida. We spend the summer but do something different up or back. Ken

RE: Looking for long-term stay west side of Denver...

Have you looked at Dakota Ridge on Colfax? I had a buddy stay there about a year in a 5er while his house was being built. Ken

RE: GS Trip planner

We used the old trip planner for years. I am really frustrated that GS took it away. The main reason we used it was to upload the trip to our GS GPS. That option is gone. As a result, we will just plan the trip on the GPS. I see no reason to use the new GS trip planner. Ken

RE: East Texas love bugs

I cannot tell you about East Texas, but in Florida, this is the worst we have seen them in over 15 years. So far this breeding cycle has lasted nearly a month. Ken

RE: WiFi Extenders that work for public WiFi routers

We run into this periodically with our PDQ Bullet. Sometimes you can repeatably try to open various pages on the internet. It takes patience, but eventually it will redirect to the login page to accept T&C. Quite a few use Tengointernet. If you type "startmywifi" you will get the login. Ken

RE: Good Sam Online Map search gone!

RE: Alt Route to Edmonton

My last two trips up we crossed a sweetgrass. Easy and fast. There are not many pullouts where you can camp for free in Canada legally. Our last stop in the US the last two times was in Shelby. We stop in Edmonton for a couple of days before heading up to Dawson Creek. Ken

RE: Max tire pressure

In November, we drove a car up to Michigan for Thanksgiving (cold PSI was normal when we left). The temps got down into the negative teens. The low air pressure warning came on so I filled them to the cold level which was 44PSI. When we got back down to Southwest Florida, the cold PSI was 65 PSI. I guess you can add to the discussion...also depends on the ambient air temperature also. Ken

RE: Redplacement Awning Fabric

Try Sailrite.com. We have been buying from them for many years for our boat canvas, outdoor furniture, etc. Even purchased our canvas sewing machine from them. Great prices and selection. Ken

RE: KVH Tracvision L3 will not rotate

Changing the sat on the HR24 should not affect the seeking. The power inserter and the tracvision should be powered up before the HR24. On my Tracvision M3DX. I use the HR24-100. My settings are the 18x20 triple LNB, International, and Multiswitch. However, 18" Round will work but not switch to Sat119 for locals (just stays on 101). Ken

RE: Roadside Assistance

"Available" got us in quite jam in 2014 when our Seneca broke down in Seward, Alaska. We were still under warranty, and the only authorized facility was in Wasilla, Alaska. The "Towing Service" refused to take us there. Thank God for GEICO as they did the 170 mile tow without an issue. Ken

RE: How to optimize my wifi reception while camping?

If you are just trying to improve signal strength, an extender/booster works. We use the PDQ Connect on our RV and Boat. However, as others said the access to the internet at campgrounds is sometimes useless. I always say; the campgrounds advertise "free wifi". Notice they do not say "free internet". :-) Ken

RE: Direct TV Genie System

We have what other have said with a little minor difference. We use our HR44, a wifi bridge and a mini genie in the master bedroom all using the Winegard Trav'ler dish. Works great everywhere we go until we travel north past Dawson Creek BC. Ken

RE: truck stops

Flying J has a debit card for rvers. With the goodsam and the debit card you receive 14 cents off per gallon at the truck lanes. Ken
