RE: California Non-commercial class A license ***New question***

My truck and trailer are an RV. (Heavy on the R) I will not be stopping at the weigh stations. I too am curious to hear from any actual citation recipients for out of class operations. For as many "stories" we hear about check points at Glamis and Pismo there should be many cuz very few I know are properly licensed for the trailers they are pulling.

RE: What do I need to know - smart car- toy hauler

What exactly should I look for in the loading ramp? Most ramps on toy haulers are rated at 3,000 lbs (that I have seen) One problem you may have issues with is high centering at the top of the ramp and possibly angle of approach and departure at the bottom. I solved all three for my 12ft Fiat by making ramps out of 2x10 boards about 10ft long to lay on top of ramp to extend out the loading length of the ramp. Then of course you have to figure out a way to secure it.

RE: California Non-commercial class A license ***New question***

I think the real rub is if you are ever involved in a traffic incident and you are not properly licensed you could be in a world of hurt. Both insurance and LE.

RE: California Non-commercial class A license ***New question***

While I cannot answer OP's question, are the laws for such licenses for residents of that state only? Kinda crazy if someone is passing thru or staying in such a state and his/her state does not require a "X" type of license but that state does. Sorta like a very small road in Syracuse that's off limits to commercial trucks which includes pick-ups (not all, but most). However, a DPW pick-up (same type as mine) can travel down same road that I cannot. Can a out of stater (non CDL RV holder)be ticketed in a state that requires a Non CDL RV license? You just have to be properly licensed for your home state.

RE: You may have shocks but are they mounted right.

I have seen many out there mounted nearly horizontal. Totally useless.

RE: Freshwater Hookup Port Question

we use a heavy duty sponge for tile grouting. Cut it to shape of the hole with a slit cut into the inside hole for the hose. x2 works great!

RE: Nascar Follies

The best part of the races is at the end to see what kind of pout-fest "he" will provide. Well, that and watching the Monster Girls jocky for position behind the winner during interview ;-)

RE: Water Heater Problems

The gap in the ignighter may be too close or too far. Either one can cause your problem. Try adjusting it slightly further to get a stronger spark.

RE: Replacing Roof - Should I buy new vents?

Did mine not too long ago. Pretty much all plastics got cracked during removal (they had become very brittle.) Figure on replacing them all (just the covers or lids not the entire vent assembly.) I THINK they used 1 gal of adhesive on my 41ft. roof.

RE: Electronic Self-adjusting brakes

Just get the proper replacement brake/backing plate assembly. 4 bolts, two wires and you're in business. Also, a good time to do a bearing repack while you're at it.

RE: Time so sell.........

We sold my Dads motorhome through Camping World consignment. Took about 3 weeks. They have good exposure but we definitely felt like they were on the buying parties side when it came to negotiations. But it did sell.

RE: Nascar Follies

I wish the would award the first place “win and your in” to the actual X and truck that is running for THEIR championship. I am finding it more difficult to watch races where the “ego” drivers take rewards that are lost to drivers of their own series. This is my opinion from a FANs position that is taken also by all my race buddies. I agree!

RE: Anyone replaced their Schwintek slide with a pulley system?

For two years we have struggled and had so many problems with our Lippert Schwintek slide that we were wondering if any of you have replaced or had it replaced your Schwintek with the pulley system? I understand that the slide needs to come out of the trailer but looks like a straight forward install. I have found one brand and am wondering if there are others and which system you prefer. Thanks in advance for any help. David Just in case you don't know, most scwintek issues stem from not holding the switch long enough after the slide motors stop. This extra couple of seconds will allow the motors to sync every time.

I think Kes made it look good but had no intention of actually passing him. Now they are both in the playoffs. Team work!
