RE: SLC-Teton-Yellowstone-SLC Trip Advice

What ages are kids? Can you borrow/do you have multiple pairs of binoculars? If you can spring for a scope that would be great too. We just arrived Friday at Colter Bay in Grand Teton N.P. Hubby works with the NPS and we will be here til early October. (Our 3rd year here ) Have seen 6 moose, 2 fox, coyote and a large Grizzly 3 days straight. She/he has found a field full of something it is digging and enjoying! Ask away. ;) Nancy

RE: Obesity in America

Who needs a BMI survey, who needs Doctors estimate, who needs a McDonalds opinion to relate to obesity in the USA? I agree with OP even if it's not 83% YET!! just watch a 1960's Andy Griffith Show, 1970's Columbo, 1980's Hill Street Blues, 1990's Friends.... LOOK HOW SKINNY EVERYONE WAS!!!! There, my scientific survey is done.

RE: Bear Spray

We worked Yellowstone/Canyon Village in 2011. That was the year with 2 fatalities 3 miles from us within a month or so apart. Another day, a guy came in to buy replacement can as he had just used it on a bear. Buy spray before you get in the Park. It will be more expensive inside Park. This is our 3rd year at Grand Teton N.P. At Colter Bay. Talk about daily sightings of bears!! Bear bells are a waste of $$. They are just not loud enough!! Just listen when you pass someone who wears them, how inaudible they really are! If you don't want to spend the $ on bear spray, at least talk, sing, call out loudly as you are walking ANYWHERE there is a tree. Bear spray works on angry Moose, angry elk, angry buffalo too...

RE: Amirillo to Denver via 87-25?

We have traveled 287 in the past. But instead of getting on IH-70, in Limon, we drove north on highway 71 to Brush. We then traveled west on highway 34 toward Greeley, then on to IH-25 north. We avoided the Denver area. (Greeley has many, many cattle pens so roll up your windows!) Or....you could follow the advice about going up to Limon and then getting on CO 71 BUT no need to get off on US 34. Stay on CO 71, it continues north into Nebraska where it is still 71, and intersects with I-80. Avoids Denver AND all the smells of the feed lots outside of Greeley, and minimal traffic as well. Well thank you both! We are going to use both your suggestions. Watching weather, but we plan to leave Texas on Sunday and head towards Grand Teton. Stopping at campgrounds on the way up and arriving on Friday if all goes well. Nancy

Amirillo to Denver via 87-25?

Heading out 4/15 to the Grand Tetons. Yes we are watching any weather issues. Comments on using 87-25 or going for the 287-70 route? Thank you. Nancy (40' Motor home and tow)

What are you using for external water filtration?

Due to a recent freeze while we were away, the filtration system in our bay got destroyed... Looking to use an external one now and probably under sink. As full timers moving to unknown water systems all the time, what are your recommendations?

RE: Replacing water filtration under Rv...help

The freeze shattered the thick holders for our water filters in the bay. It also killed our mani-build(?) that distributes the water to all faucets after entering the RV. So getting parts and nothing $ can't buy to get us on the road again (hopefully) Will start a new string about getting an exterior filtration setup. Thanks again.

Replacing water filtration under Rv...help

We have 2001 Monaco Dynasty. In the recent Texas freeze, it damaged our water filtration system in the bay. (We were away on a family emergency) I cannot find the replacement parts so my question is, do I really need the filtration or can I install an under the sink system for kitchen uses? Any thoughts ? Wondering if any damage to pipes or ? If shower, etc aren't filtered enough? Thanks. Nancy

RE: How to listen to MY own music on my phone?

RE: How to listen to MY own music on my phone?

The music was in Googel Play and now it won't let me access them. I will try and see if they are stored somewhere else on the phone. Our son was instrumental in getting the CDs we recorded onto our computer, and then moved to the phone years ago. He has since passed away and this is so frustrating ..

Not very techie, so plain English please. :{ Have a Samsung Note 9 that came with Google Play. My music was there because the kid transferred it from my old phone. Now G. Play has gone away. Want me to switch to YoutubeMusic. I can't figure out, is this FREE? I want to play the playlist I made from CDs I BOUGHT, the artist has been paid already! I have transferred some of the music, but it keeps asking if I want to extend my'free' trial.. I do not want to pay $10 a. Onth for something I own ! OR, is there another app for me? Thank you.

RE: Sharing our location/travels with others

I have been looking also for something besides FB lately. 8-10 yrs ago when we hit the road, we used Photobucket. I wrote a story of our travels in our email and had a list of people as a group ( @ 100 people) Then attached a link to Photobucket with anywhere from 10-30 photos and sent it. It was very easy to do. Got away from it and now PBucket is like everyone else, they want $ per month to host. Still looking..

RE: Grounds maintenance- janitorial volunteers

Sounds like a nice spot for someone! Sometimes pay is NOT the most important part of taking the job...
