RE: Went TT shopping this weekend 8-(

my kids are looking also and they say the same thing, junk and not cheap. face it I've said it a hundred times on here, building a tt is not rocket science. they have a quota and they simply throw them together faster than you can blink an eye

RE: Bumped Trailer Jack Tube

I had a Barker jack and we did not raise it entirely once and came out of a parking lot and hit the cement and the foot bent back about two inches. when we got to camp we hooked up a chain to the footing and yanked on it with truck a few times. we bent it back almost perfect but we used that jack for another 15 years.

great son in law

We went camping here in eastern Oregon last weekend. What made it so great is my kids were there and my grand kids. we camped, fished, went mushrooming and hiked. the hiking was while looking for mushrooms. found several mainly because of the grand kids. their eyes are so much better than mine. My son in law and my daughter do not have a camper this year but he came the day we were to leave and hooked his ram diesel up to my TT and towed it up to our campsite, helped set up camp and went home. came up the next day with wife and kids and we had a great time. sunday they did the same but on monday they came back up and pulled the TT back home for us and parked it here by the house. he took a lot of work out of the equation for me by doing that for me and as he said it will take a lot off my truck by doing this. his is a nice diesel and mine a gasser. He was amazed by the heavy weight of my TT. he said he knew it was back there. Just wanted everyone to know I have a great son in law

RE: Bedroom tv mount

I would drill a small hole in the wall to hit the stud and if you see wood on the drill bit then you know what it is

RE: "dimples" on one of my tires

back in the 70's when they first came out with radial tires I panic while in reno and I went into a tire store to buy new tires. I got lucky because I asked an honest tire man about the possibility of the tires blowing out and he told me this was normal for radial tires and the dimple was where the belts met inside the tire.

RE: Hot water tank

I think I would use vinegar instead of clr. if you don't get it all out of the tank I don't want it on my body while showering

RE: Mailing weapons

you need a dealer with a FFL in both states to ship to one another. they will charge you a fee

RE: Rattle Snakes

I heard some very good advice in Yuma a few years ago IF you kill a rattle snake, if nothing else cut off the head and bury the head. if you do not bury the head and some of the biting insects get on the head they may pick up venom and IF they bite you it will be as if the snake bit you and they can inject venom into you body. when in snake country I always carry a 22 with shot or a 357 loaded with shot. it also helps to carry a shovel. great tool to lean on.

RE: Awning has moved. How easy to move back?

just make sure the ends on the TT and the drum are the same. after you pull on the moved area, roll it up a few times to make sure it rolls up smooth

RE: How to prevent food sticking on Weber Q1000 grill?

buy some of the stuff they advertise on tv. the copper sheets that protect your grill from stuck on food. you can buy this at wally world or bed bath and beyond. might try amazon to see if they have it. what it amounts to is non stick BBQ sheets. the sheets are washable and reusable if you have a porcelain grill you don't want to use a wire type brush on it since the wire brush ruins the grill coating

RE: Stinky Holding Tank

use happy camper additive. it gets rid of the smell not give it a perfume treatment like the other stuff on the market

RE: Water heater drain plug

you must have a suburban water heater and as old bisquit stated try to tighten the rod first then loosen it. at the dealership when we had one that was too tight or rusted we would always tighten then loosen to get it out. use Teflon tape when installing a new rod.
