RE: Running your propane Refrigerators while traveling?

it is dangerous. by far one of the worst things you can do. I know I will get all kinds of flax from saying that but it is true. RV educating 101 guy says no don't do it. the RV Doctor says don't do it. I fought fires for 30 years and I can honestly tell you I have been on fires started by rv fridges that were running while traveling. One guy who owns a truck dealership built a super class C and he made it 30 miles before his Super C burned up. a group of band members were coming through the country side and their C class burned up. a woman who's relatives in a class A burned up with in 20 miles of our town. a gas station we had was leveled in a fire caused by a guy who thought he turned off his fridge before he fueled up started a beaut of a fire almost blowing up half the town but we stopped it before it got to the 10,000 gallon propane tank next to it. yes many on here have been lucky, pure lucky that they haven't lost their RV's or burned a service station to the ground, and that doesn't make it right. I have learned fro ours mistakes and I use reusable ice packs to keep my fridge cold and when I get to camp I refreeze the packs and use them over and over again. but it's up to you what you do. one guy a few years ago said that is why he has insurance. I just hope you are not next to me when it happens

RE: Detailing RV

there are truck washes around . not always in all big cities but truck stops may have one close to you. maybe cheaper then $300 or $9.00 per ft. saw a video on you tube made by the rv geeks seems they paid a lot less then $300.00. if you want to look up there series of videos on you tube and watch it you can get more info on it. I looked it up for you . they went to a place called blue beacon and paid $40 for a 40 ft MH and toad. wash only

RE: Riddle Me This Batman; Low Frequency Hum: SOLVED

many years ago I heard of people with certain types of fillings in their teeth would have radio stations and music in their heads. Not sure if that is the same with you or not. And when I was in the Navy my ship had a fathomator and I was the only one who could hear it ping and answer no less. one night out of a deep sleep the ping increased, don't know if a sub or a whale went under the ship. sorry but at least I knew what caused the noise in my head.

RE: Out of state storage insurance

insurance companies will keep quiet and will tell you things to keep from paying you money in a claim. my brother paid a company money for storage insurance and when his unit got burgled he put in a claim and they denied it saying they don't insure storage. so My brother got a lawyer and sued them and they paid for the unit and the lawyer. they took his money so they had to pay him

RE: Ever worry about hanging limbs?

I didn't use to until back in the 70's I pulled into a park in canada and a limb went all the way down my TT. thank God for metal roofs back then. I did not have an AC back then either.

RE: "Take-apart-able" portable generator box -- suggestions?

why don't you just buy a quiet on in the first place and eliminate the box entirely. by the time you cut hole in the box so the gen set can breath you are right back to being with out a box

RE: How much trailer can the new 1/2 ton trucks tow?

1/2 ton trucks are very limited to tow hauling in my book. many are rated at 10K but by the time you add people, gas, and everything else you throw into the camper and the truck, you really are limited to around 7K to 8K TT. get a 3/4 ton and you will be happier. like night and day towing with a 3/4 ton

RE: Portable Propane Fire Pits

we would use them in our area of the country. they are about 120 dollars and we used to let the kids make smores over them. you get a little marshmallow on them but what the heck, they are just kids

RE: Best Gravity Drop Toilet?

I wonder why dont any Rv builders use stainless steel toilets? Wouldnt those be easiest to clean, plus being unbreakable. https://www.neo-metro.com/toiletsseveral things why they don't use them, one is cost, another is weight, and most important they never need replaced. put dometic out of business

RE: Best Gravity Drop Toilet?

I had a dometic 310 in my older TT and with this one we put in a dometic 320 with the spray. it is taller and not round but oblong and with a porcelain bowl. easy to keep clean and we like it we will be SIL and daughter one in the spring
