RE: Why 4.1 axle?

I love my 4.10's for towing. I had a 3.73 truck and the 4.10's pull and tows circles around the 3.73's and I still get 15 mpg solo

RE: Installing a clean out at home

You might have him put a concert collar around the dump so it will stay the same height. we found when we put in my father in laws the cap disappeared after a few years of the grass growing around it. we had to find the opening every time we used it

champion gen set

I bought a new champion genny 3400 single fuel electric remote start. I thought long and hard whether to get a duel fuel or not. it is too heavy for me to be loading into the bed of the truck by myself so will be using it mainly for power outages at the stick and brick. I have it on a garden wagon so I can have it mobile to lock up in the shed and move to the patio. I am having my son install a fixture so I can run the gen on the patio without getting fumes into the house. I have three 2000 gen sets I will give to the kids so they will have one to use while camping or hunting. with my wife in hospice I don't see much sense to keep a lot of my stuff. I am even thinking of maybe selling my rv.

RE: Advice for a trip up the west coast

be sure you call and make reservations at the parks you want to stay at. this time of year it is almost impossible to get in to them. don't wait do it now

RE: Campingworld Tallahassee

personally I am getting very tired of seeing posts about how horrible CW is. everyone knows about CW and if you are foolish enough to buy from them that's your problem. I haven't bought anything from them since the eighties and I don't plan on buying anything from them in the future Why do you continue to read these posts? that's a good question, I wondered that myself after I wrote the last entry

RE: Tap into my 30 amp Dryer outlet for an RV outlet???

me thinks you need to seek out an electrician to do this for you. it's cheaper then blowing everything up in your camper by not knowing what you are doing

RE: Slide out leaks

RE: what are these bits for?

the black ones look like grommets for the grate on the gas stove. I might be wrong but that's what they look like to me

RE: Snow: how deep is too deep for camping?

sounds to me like you have never driven in the snow before and are more then likely unprepared for doing so. I would stay home if I were you or take a grader with you to get yourself out of the snow banks

co pilot

I'm losing my co pilot guys. saddest thing to ever happen to me. back in 2016 she went though the fight with ovarian cancer. In February they told her she had liver cancer and this battles is the one she is losing. Dr told me a few weeks ago that she only has at the most four weeks to live. Hospice brought in the bed and meds for her and the house is just packed with people. we finally had to put up a no visitor sign on the door. Luckily we have family members that are nurses and friends to help her. it has been hell my friends, pure hell.

RE: winterizing with compressed air

back in the 70's I winterized late and only blew out the lines, the following spring I had a leak. since then I have blown out the lines and then pumped in anti freeze. I learned the hard way and will always use anti freeze from now on

RE: Best way to run fridge while not level

if you are a half bubble off you are good to go. but in saying that it is best to be the half bubble off front to back then side to side. the tubes run front to back in the back of the fridge so that is the logical way to be off a half bubble

RE: Suggestions on what vehicle to pull 18-20' trailer?

I had a forest river, I sold forest river, I worked on forest river products. I will never own one again. salem is an entry level model. when I had my forest river I towed with a 1/2 ton then a girl hit my truck so I bought a 3/4 ton. man what a difference in towing experience. like night and day difference. I'll never tow with a 1/2 ton again

RE: Gas prices.

they blame gas prices on shortages which I think is BS since the east coast doesn't seem to have that problem this year. it's all on the shoulders of the oil companies. they raise their prices at the drop of a hat and they always make sure they have a hat to drop. they are crooks 100%

RE: Looking for advice on GMC rear shocks

it might be something as simple as the sway controller you have. you might make a few adjustments to the set up and see it that makes a difference
