RE: My windshield nightmare.

Sometimes they use a blower like you may have seen to dry carpet or you can use a blower out of a home heating & air cond unit. The blower can be made to blow
through a window or door that is sealed with plastic, cardboard, etc

RE: A&E Weather Pro Awning Replacement

Check out StoneVoss http://stonevoss.com/
They are RVers and started the business because of the lousy fabrics and
threads being used . They research and use the best of both .
They can walk / talk you through what ever you are trying to do .
They also now do other RV service too . Really good site for other items too

RE: Need seals for differential

There should be a tag on the differential to identify it .
Any big truck parts or NAPA should have what you need .
Unless you are planning to replace them yourself why not let the shop
identify and locate parts ?

RE: tv reception with air antenna

Maybe your TV is like mine . Each time we set up camp in a different
location I have to do a channel search .
Its not like old tvs these newer TVs have to find and program themselves for
each channel it finds .
Go to menu then channels then auto channel search .
Mine is annoying because it takes so long it tells me this may take up to 20
minutes .
Don't think it ever took that long but its still to long .
I have a sensor device that helps me locate the direction of stations first .

RE: New RVer with some diesel fuel issues.

Tell us what coach and engine you have
Was you looking for 3 fuel filters ? That's how it sounded but all I have
seen is 2 filters , primary and secondary . If you have crud in the tank it
can clog the primary fairly quick so that's the one I would replace when it
acts up until it cures it or you find another problem . I don't think the
crud hides on the bottom , it lurks at different levels .
Startron makes a product for diesel that is supposed to digest the crud in
diesel , you could try that along with Biobor (sp) to stop crud from forming .
The fill necks on my Monaco are not replaceable . When you say the fill necks
are disgusting , inside , outside or ?
The tank should have a vent tube on top , make sure it is clear .
You don't want a vacuum forming in the tank .
Did you hear air rush in when removing the fuel cap ? That would be after
driving for awhile .

RE: 2006 travel supreme

Sounds to me like your hot water valve is not stopping the flow of hot
water through the heater core . The hot will easily over power your A/C .
Usually when this is the problem it will cool at first before the engine
warms up . You also should feel more heat on one side of the valve if it
working . My valve is on the firewall where the heater hoses enter the HVAC .

RE: Electronic Driving Systems

In the Monaco line, only the luxury coaches were built on a steel frame. All the others are aluminum. Only if you're concerned about rolling your coach over from time to time. Rarely do you find coaches rolling over although it does occur...Dennis
Sorry Dennis , I think you meant to say the metal cage ( frame )
the house / body is built around is aluminum on some models .
Monaco started using aluminum frames for the body in 03 AFAIK
The actual chassis / frame is steel on all of them .

RE: What The Heck???

Be sure you actually have 12v batteries and if so that they are wired in
parallel .
Many coaches have 6v batteries that must be in series .
For some reason the batteries are running down . See if you can get them
charged back up , you may need to use a battery charger if the coaches
battery charger doesn't seem to be charging .
Slow down , your answers are confusing , tell us with more words what you
are seeing and doing .

RE: What The Heck???

When you say nothing works do you really mean nothing ?
Or is it just certain things ? Does it even try to start or make a noise ?
Headlights work ?
Grounds are often the problem , I would look at the battery ground cables .
When the engine died were you doing any thing like trying to start he gen ?

RE: Boat versus RV Generator

I agree there is a need but sterling doesn't appear to be the answer
after a couple hundred yrs little progress has been made .
Steam probably has more promise .

RE: Boat versus RV Generator

The thread has gotten a little off topic and appeared to even be getting a
little arguementative then it morphed into interesting .
I've always been some what of a gadget guy . When I was a kid I took
everything apart but now I wouldn't know much of what I was seeing .
I have messed with Sterling cycle model engines but nothing useful .
They are silent but do not generate much power generally .
Here is a company that makes claims, still not a lot of power and quite large
http://redhawkenergy.net/qnergystirlingengine.html
At one time ( 100 yrs ago not sure ) a sterling fan for the desk was
manufactured & sold in this country but elect fans soon took its place .
Some are still around as antiques
However I think that same fan is still manufactured in India and is / was
available here . The most useful I have seen is also from the past
In parts of the country that had natural gas piped to homes for heat/lights
etc a sterling engine 2 or 3 ft tall was married to a well pump to slowly fill
a elevated water tank presto running water , pretty fancy stuff back then .
Here is another novel use of heat generating elect to drive a fan .
