RE: Rapid City Area RV Parks

Three years ago, we stayed at Rapid City South RV Park. It served our purposes. We had our car in tow and traveled from the RV park daily, to surrounding attractions for two weeks. Very convienient location and reasonable. Felt safe and comfortable.

RE: Anyone use a battery operated blower?

I use a "Green Machine" 40V. Does OK. This time of year, leaves and debris get blown in under the toppers. Blower works good for that. I adapted a vacuum extension with a 90 on it so I don't have to climb.

RE: Slide Support

Not god. There is always "movement" of the RV and supporting the slide will cause it to not "move" with the RV. That will wear the slide mechanism and cause failure.

RE: Good Sam ERS Hung Us Out to Dry

What I want is an emergency roadside service I can count on. Good Sam Raodside Assistance is the wrong choice. Good luck! They all fail, at some ponit/time. This was a simple tire/wheel change - no towing required. Any garage that does roadside service would do the work. Maybe the GS representative misunderstood your problem? Maybe I do?

RE: What do tow behind your Class C?

You will see all kinds of stuff being towed.

RE: We attempted to use the service today

We have had GS Roadside Platinum+ for 4+ years. Used it once for a rear dually blowout, we had a mounted spare. 45 min. from my call to being back on the road. And we received several follow-up calls from dispatch asking how things were going. We are well satisfied, for now. Hope to never need the service again.

RE: Border Crossing Headed To Alaska

Hoping things change by early 2022. I live in the US, on the Canadian border, and there is a crossing within 2 miles of me. Eventhough allowed, current restrictions are still too bothersome for casual travel back and forth; in my opinion. Still not much recreational travel to Canada happening here. Mostly folks with family in both countries.

RE: Steering problems w/ 30 ft Winnebago

Take it to an alignment shop to have frontend parts checked out and get it an alignment.

RE: 2015 Ford Focus flat tow damage

More info please. Tow setup, speeds towed, brake system. What reason is Ford giving for denying warranty? Your Focus was a 2015, when did this happen? How many total miles had you towed the Focus?

RE: Black tank valve replacement

I don't know your specific setupb - PICs? If in that predicament and there was enough exposed pipe I would cut it, cut small section out to give yourself the room needed, install an appropriate sized Fernco fittting, and install the new valve.

RE: Internet question????

GMail does have an import feature. You will need to deal with all your accounts that use your earthlink account and have those changed along with any other users you want to continue corresponding with. arthlink should allow forwarding and if you keep that account for a bit, you can respond to any correspondance with your gmail account. Good luck. I've advocated gmail, yahoo mail, etc. over provider accounts for may years. Loose your provider and you loose your mail account. Gmail will work on any provider's network.

RE: Help finding floorplan

Winnebago Sightseer 36z, or Winnebago Adventurer 36z. The Winnebago Adventurer 38q is also a nice unit. May have to do something about the recliners, depending on model year. There also Tiffin Allegro Open Road models that might fit in, but you will likely have to go a bit older to get into your price range. The thing we don't like about the Tiffins is that they don't seem to include dual pane windows. A necessity for us. Good luck. We found a 2018 Sightseer 36z that has all our/your wants - the recliners is actually a reclining sofa with footrests. If that doesn't work for us, we will remove it and install two recliners. Still waiting for the title to transfer.

RE: Canada barring folks still

Apparently, they are reopening to fully vaccinated folks on July 6th. NHL should have just waited I guess. That's tomorrow at 1 minute after midnight - and only for "eligable" fully vaccinated folks. Like Canadian Citizens. The border is not opening to the general public!

RE: Alaska advice

Get on line and search for Ferry to Alaska. Lots of expensive options. Tools there to estimate fares and times, etc. No Canadian Customs unless de board into Canada, can't do that at this time anyhow.

RE: camping world service

I have been trying to get a CW catalog and no luck, what do I have to do?? thank you Bob Look on-line! You are on-line to this forum? Paper is on the way out for more than one reason. Wasteful, expensive and, I know; you like the paper version.

RE: Propane hook up for peripherals

Without seeing your particular setup, no one will be able to reccomend anything specific. Better to get a knowlegable individual involved, on site.
