Speed has a HUGE impact on BEV range. RV's are typically a heavy non aero brick, and will not see reasonable range anytime soon.

Philh, remember that the suspension components you added, are =unsprung=, meaning that there's no affect on the =frame=. While they do affect your total weight, they should not be affecting pin weight. If you have weights pre-IS/disk brakes, subtract that from current weights to find out how much the mods added. Add that amount to your total GVW since you're NOT carrying that weight (only "towing" it). Also, and I've known people who freaked out when they didn't do this, make sure you're weighing with empty black and grey tanks and minimal fresh water. If you're still heavier than you'd like to be, pull everything out and see what's necessary vs what's "nice to have". See if there's anything you can transfer to the truck, especially the "nice-to-haves". Also, see if there's anything you can shift from front to rear. Lyle Your points are spot on. We're trying to figure out how much unsprung wt I added, and it appears it may be about 700 lbs. WRT pin wt, I'm struggling to figure out how I got so heavy on the pin. I'm actually leaning towards a bad cat scale wt. There's no way I've added that much wt to the trailer, but I may be surprised. We'll weigh it on the way home, and when I get a chance, I'll weigh MY truck too, as I am using a similar truck as a surrogate wt. It will be a little lighter than when I weighed the rig, but not by much. I'm barely into the helper springs and when I measured the ground to wheel well lip loaded vs unloaded, I went from rear 41.5" --> 39.5, front from 40.5 --> 39.75. This is not computing in my head with being near GAWR. I do have a lot of stuff in front compartment and under the bed, which is going to translate all to the pin, but there's now way I've added that much wt.

Keep reporting this is the same one we are wanting so all the info I can get is great. We want to upgrade from our artic fox 990 to this unit. We had a wonderful fireplace installed in the useless cabinet below the TV. I also put in a larger 40" TV with an articulating arm. Converted the wasted space above water pump to storage space.

2+ weeks into Artic Fox 27-5L

I love this 5th wheel more and more each day. Outside of a little bobble on our third night traveling to key west, trip has been remarkably easy. Stayed at Boyd's in Key West. The staff did a great job helping me get parked in a very tight spot. Set me up perfect to literally just back it into our "slot". Really happy for the eBikes, key west is not Superduty friendly, especially CCLB. I'm apparently older than I thought, party in KW doesn't get wound up until after I'm in bed :) Left there and drove north to Lutz (Tampa) FL, where the campground we're in is kind of anarchy on parking. We reserved our site over a year ago, and a well placed call that morning to the manager "confirming" our site reserved a year ago got some of the anarchy cleaned up before we got there. It was still tough parking tho, not a lot of room to get our trailer properly placed. The independent $u$pen$ion , has been worth every penny. Stuff stays on the counter instead of getting flung to the floor. Disc brakes, when you need them to stop the trailer, stops it right now. Pretty deep into the mods, which isn't a surprise, I am a project manager, and this is becoming my pre retirement project :) Trailer is over weight, and need to understand where the extra wt is coming from. I know IS and brakes added weight, but in my head can't figure out where the extra pin wt came from. I'll weigh it again on the way home. We'll be here for several months when it warms back up at our "home" in MI. Still working from home, and have a perfect setup for being on the road. Still need to find my wireless headset dongle tho. Hoping I didn't leave it back in MI.

As a new 5th wheel hauler, I went through this with several friends. Including a close friend that was in a very bad accident that has left him with brain damage, not unlike a pro fighter might experience. His comment really hit home with me, would you trust an Anderson hitch with the accident I had, and then sent me several photos of collapsed Anderson hitches. I love how easy it is to hookup the trailer.

This was about the destination as most of my travels while working are. The address they sent me was to the welcome center, not the campground.

Suggestion, do not try to find this campground in the evening, long after it's gone dark, in the rain. The address took us to the welcome center. Saw a sign for midway, but never did see a road. Led to an interesting almost two hours trying to find a place to park for the night. Ended up in a rest area, and no, I didn't take a spot away from a trucker.

5th wheel weights on the sticker hitch - 2265 (average dry wt) UVW - 11,135 NCC - 2465 GVWR - 13,600 Well time to load up the family, and 5er and herd to the scales! First weigh with 5er hitched. front axle, Rear axle and trailer axles. Then drop the 5er and reweigh the TV front axle, and rear axle. Then do the math. Already weighed the rig, and used someone else's truck weight. I will weigh my truck in a couple of weeks. It will be close enough to full travel mode for calculations. I'm dumbfounded by how heavy the pin is. I'm guessing the "average" wt on the truck didn't include any options, like the front AC or the extra solar

Hummer Edition 1 — the only version available for the first year — will have a 329-mile range, tow up to 7,500 pounds and haul up to 1,300 pounds. I'd love to see real world towing range. I'd bet it's between 100 and 150 miles. Then what happens after you run out of juice? I shoot for at least 500 miles a day with two or three fuel stops. On this trip to FL, not a single day has gone by that we haven't gotten stuck in multi mile backups.

I have wingard LGE modem/router, and it does a wonderful job for me. It has an AT&T SIM Card. I also have an AT&T personal cell phone and Verizon work phone. Since I'm working from home, multiple internet sources are absolutely required.

I guess the moral of the story is that anything can happen with install, even with a great company like Morryde... It's HOW they correct the problem that separates them They did pull out all the stops with that stupid error the truck was displaying. Bad part, we don't know what was causing the issue, but whatever it was got fixed. This type of problem will drive an engineer crazy.

heavy options added to the 5er are the front AC and 170 watt solar. I get that my truck will have slightly different weights, but using the numbers above give me a general idea of where things are. When I weighed the rig, it was in full travel mode and fully fueled.

2020 F350 SRW CC SB 6.7 4X4 Aux tank W 30 ga Diesel & slider 5th hitch in bed 8,560# 4720 FT, 3840 RE Thank you for that info! Either the CAT scale was off, or my bride managed to do something I didn't think was possible in this trailer, and blew right through GVWR. I'll get my truck weighed in a couple of weeks, but wow! According to the calculator, pin wt is 3820, trailer axles 11,940. Good thing I put in IS 7k axles! Pin wt is a huge surprise. I'm running through my head what was added to the trailer in front of the axles, and for the life of me not getting it. I need to find the factory sticker, as I believe it's actual weight. Worst part of the whole thing, I can carry 258 gallons, but only had 30 gallons on board when it was weighed.

If you have "DELAY" in your braking with disk brakes you most likely have air in the brake lines!!! My RV and Boat Trailer both have the same HydraStar actuator the biggest they make, neither have any delay. It's going to have some delay, it has to by design. When I get a chance, I'll look at bleeding the lines. I wouldn't expect Morryde to have an issue with air in the lines.

Artic fox 27-5L x2 but no bunks and they are HEAVY for their size. They are heavy, and I was a little surprised when I weighed mine. For a couple, IMO, it's literally a perfect 5er.

2022 F350D adaptive cruise, driving from MI to FL, Truck will downshift to hold speed going downhill. If that isn't enough, then EB kicks in, if that isn't enough, then the brakes are applied. It held downhill speed to 0 to + 2 mph. Uphill was a different story, it would drop to -5 before aggressively downshifting and getting deep into the power to bring the speed back up.
