RE: Cost of dental work on a small dog?

Prices can vary greatly but probably at least $500 for just a cleaning. I have heard any dental work can be dangerous for the dog also.

RE: Honda 2000I versus Cpe 2000 inverter

I do not mean to hijack this thread but it does make me ask a question. I have one of the new CPE 2000 watt inverter generators. I want to upgrade my converter but I do not want the generator to rev up so loud like is being mentioned with the 75 amp converters. Right now it just idles with the stock converter. Does anyone have a suggestion on how big a converter I can get and still keep the generator quiet? Thanks.

RE: Recommendations for quiet portable generator

We were tailgating for a college football weekend in cold weather last week and were surrounded by every kind of generator imaginable. Since all I really was concerned about was battery charging due to the furnace, my little Champion 2000 watt suitcase was one of the quietest ones there. All of the builtin Onans drowned out mine so I could not tell if mine was running by just listening

RE: furnace while driving

Actually it is the Va Tech game

RE: furnace while driving

Thanks everyone. I think I will probably stop about 30 minutes before my destination Friday and start the furnace to knock off the chill before I get there.

furnace while driving

One quick question, how many of you run your furnace while towing in cold weather? Thanks.

RE: trailer size and campsites in National Parks

If you plan to focus on national Parks, you might want to consider tank size and room for extra batteries as well since you will most likely be dry camping

RE: Lock for generator

I have the Masterlock cable shown above but it probably just makes me feel better than really accomplishing anything against a determined thief. It will slow down the opportunistic person wanting something easy but won't stop anyone who really wants it. My plan that I am currently going with is "if it is running, I will be around. If I am not around, it will be hidden"

RE: Cellphone boosters

I have us cellular also. Below is what I bought for my shop. I take the booster with me when I travel and use a magnetic antenna on a pole 850MHz Cell Phone Signal Booster for Home GSM CDMA Verizon AT&T 3G 4G Band5 DATA

RE: Cell Signal Booster

I have a Weboost on my house and a no name kit from Ebay on my shop. I can't really tell that much difference. I take the one out of my shop and use it in my trailer when I go out. It helps a lot

RE: 5th wheel with largest tanks

While my 60 gallon tanks are not the biggest out there, they are the biggest that I have had in an RV and the room that I have for 4 batteries basically just has me spoiled I guess

RE: 5th wheel with largest tanks

We have really come full circle the last 20 couple years. When we first started, all we did was dry camp. Then we felt we needed full hookups all the time. I am back to the original version now so if I ever buy another, it will have the biggest tanks that I can find. In an earlier life, I added both fresh and gray water tanks to trailers that did not have them but I want it already done for me now.

5th wheel with largest tanks

Good morning. My current rig is a 2003 Crossroads Cruiser, 31' with 60 gallon fresh, black, gray, and galley tanks. As I get closer to retirement, I think i might want to upgrade to something newer but I want something in the same size range with the same tank sizes. Self leveling would be an added plus also. Does anyone have any recommendations for something like that? Thanks.

RE: US Cellular?

We have US Cellular and I don't know about Yuma but it worked fine when we were in northern Arizona a few years ago.

RE: 2000 watt Champion Inverter Gen worked great

Is this the black suitcase model or one of the others? I got the black one on sale at Tractor Supply. So far, I am loving it.

RE: Anyone use "Get Upside"?

I live in a rural area with two gas stations convenient when I am going back and forth to work. Most of the time the pump price is about the same but I can only use the GetUpside app at one of the stations. I probably average 16-18 cents back on every gallon as the amount back changes fairly often. I've gotten around $90 back since I started in the spring. Probably isn't for everyone but works for me.

RE: Old magnetic cell phone antenna-UPDATE

I tried an old antenna that I had and did not have real good results so I broke down got a new magnetic antenna and 15' up in the air, my signal goes from 1 bar to 5 bars. Now I just take the repeater out of my shop and use it in the fiver

RE: Personal experience with having slides and no slides?

I have had two travel trailers without slides and three 5th wheels with slides. I definitely love the added room of the slides but the most important aspect to me is being able use what you need without opening the slides so truck stops and rest areas are an option if necessary.

RE: Old magnetic cell phone antenna-UPDATE

The reason that I asked is that I have a booster in my shop which works great and is easy to get to and take out. For kicks and giggles I took it to my 5th wheel and hooked it up using a steel plate on the roof as a ground plane and an old ('90s vintage) magnetic antenna left over from the old bag phone days. It barely got me one more bar on my phone. I am taking a chance and ordering a new Wilson magnetic antenna of the right frequency. If it works-problem solved. If not, it certainly will not be the last $20 that I have wasted. I figured the distance between the indoor and outdoor antennas is not quite the issue with a magnetic one vs. a yagi antenna like I have on my shop

Old magnetic cell phone antenna-UPDATE

Does anyone know if a 20 year old magnetic cell phone antenna would work with the new booster/repeater. I am thinking the technology was too different but maybe I am wrong
