RE: Extending Wifi Range???

Not to hijack the thread, but has anyone had any luck with the wifi extenders working through a metal sided building?

RE: Advice on Best Type of Internet

I can only speak for Hughesnet and I would not wish it on my worst enemy. I had their service for 4 years because it was our only option but what they promised and what I got was not the same. I was supposed to be getting 20 mbps but the average was closer to 3 mbps and that doesn't even include ping latency

RE: Water damage self repair?

You always have the option to get the outside sealed back up to prevent further damage and leave it alone. Unless it is a true structural issue or you just can't stand it, you could spend your time camping rather than working on it.

RE: Cleaning A/C coils: DIY or hire a pro? (See March 8 update)

When mine started icing up, the taping had come loose in the plenum, mixing the hot air and cold air preventing all of the air from flowing through the evaporator coils. When I got everything sealed back properly, I had much better air flow though the duct work and no more icing

RE: Potable Water Transportation

I bought a 25 gal ATV sprayer with a tank and pump already attached. Did away with the spray wand and put a garden hose quick connect on the pump and a regular 7 way connector on the electric cord to plug into the truck. Some might not like it but it works for me.

RE: DIY storm shield / cover for inverter generator?

I do not haul it there on the road but my small generator sits on a rack on the back bumper when I am using it. I bought a sheet of corrugated plastic sheet from home depot and folded it in half to form a "a" frame to sit over the generator and rack.

RE: Colter Bay RV Park - Tetons

When we were there in 2016, we had a long bed crew cab pulling a 38' fiver and had no problems in our site. I think I actually called to make reservations instead of doing it online and I made reservations nearly a year in advance

RE: Help with Texts with no Service

My regular texts are sms, which will not work on wi-fi with my phone and provider. I do have a Google Voice account with which I can call or text on wi-fi. Your phone and provider might be different

RE: Masterbuilt or Char Broil

I have a larger electric Masterbuilt and a smaller gas masterbuilt for travel. I love the electric one, the gas one wants to cook a little hotter than I want sometimes but both get the job done. I have no experience with CB either.

RE: My water heater drain plug is metal, is that a problem?

Of the ones that I have seen, Atwood usually has a smaller plastic plug but Suburban has a larger metal one with an anode rod attached

RE: Skool me on cell phone boosters and install tips, please

Waste of money - we have stayed at over 400 parks with Verizon and I can count on one hand the parks where we have not had service
I don't even have service at my home without a booster. Those who have often don't realize not everybody has, regardless the topic.

RE: permanent mount for Yagi antenna

Here's how I mounted my twin Yagi MIMO antennas above my batwing OTA antenna:

I had thought about something like that but I was afraid the yagi antenna and inside antenna would be too close together to work properly

permanent mount for Yagi antenna

I want to mount a Yagi antenna for a cell phone booster somewhat permanently on my 5th wheel. Has anyone come up with an easy inexpensive way to do this and still have the ability to point the antenna? Thanks.
