RE: Electric Chevy Silverado Debut

Even without trying to tow something I doubt if you will get 400 miles in the real world. Running the air conditioner or heater will take a bite out of it.

RE: How to see grand canyon

Not sure of your rig; but if you are not over 25' and willing to dry camp, there is the option of Desert View Campground at the east entrance to the park. Not nearly as crowded as the village area.

RE: 2022 Trip Planning- Advice for Newbies

I always carry at least a 1/3 tank or more of water. This way you can make rest and lunch stops at your convenience. For provisioning, stock food as you would at home and clothing the same taking in mind the climate you will be visiting. Plan to have a day every week or so for grocery shopping and laundry. Over night stops can usually be accomplished without reservations. Longer stops may need reservations depending on where they are especially on holidays.

RE: Looking for a campground around Sarasota

Unless there is a specific reason to make a stop in Sarasota you could overnight further north where your chances for a spot should improve.

Hard to tell by picture what is going where, but this is the way they should be wired. https://i.imgur.com/m157b2rl.jpg

Scary GMC commercial

While watching football yesterday I saw a GMC commercial promoting its' hands free driving feature that is very scary. It shows it being used with the driver not paying attention and also in traffic and towing. We have enough distracted drivers on the road without manufacturers promoting it.

RE: Furnace flames cycles off before temp is reached

Sounds like it is cycling on the high limit which is an indication of an airflow problem. Make sure that nothing is restricting the return air and that all registers are open and unrestricted.

RE: TX HWY 21

Have not been on that route; however, most Texas State highways are in very good condition.

RE: Mildew pre treatment

A cover will defeat the advantages of having the roof vent and a window open for cross ventilation.

RE: Wheel Bearings - re-grease?

My biggest concern would be the tires. OP stated they were installed in 2019; however they could be older. Best indicator is the date code on the tires.

RE: plastic sky light over shower

If even tinted has more light/heat transfer than wanted, put a coat of white water based exterior paint on the top most part of the cover.

RE: Propane tank cover modification

As said cut a hole in the front. If you don't like the idea of an open hole; make a cover with a piece of plastic a little larger than the hole and attach with one pop rivet above the hole. Now you have a little door to swing open and see the indicator.

RE: Mildew

Ventilation is the key. Leave at least one roof vent open and a window at the the opposite end partially open. With good ventilation you shouldn't need anything else. In mold prone areas (like showers) use Mold Armor.

RE: Figuring Mileages

Use your GPS the way you are using Google. I would not use the route laid out by any GPS or other mapping program without doing a review of where it is sending you. Even with a GPS if you enter the whole route to get the overall distance and then later you run it in segments there will be differences in the results.

RE: Natchez to Abbeville

Not sure how far down LA1 you plan to go since you are heading to Abbeville. I suggest that once you get to US190 you go west on it then to Lafayette on I49. The area below Plaquemine was hard hit by hurricane Ida. For eating - pick a local restaurant and you won't go wrong.

RE: Help troubleshooting TT AC airflow

Right. The "dump" vent on the unit itself should be closed except when you want extra airflow in that immediate area.

RE: Help troubleshooting TT AC airflow

That is because you have increased the static pressure in the system to the point that the blower can no longer move the air. Keep all the registers open. If you have an area that has low airflow; first check that the register there is properly sealed to the main duct. In fact it wouldn't hurt to check all of them. Depending on how the duct work is laid out you may be able to add an additional register in the bedroom area.

RE: cleaning 7-pin receiver connector on truck

Fine emery board or if you are near your trailer, plug in and unplug several times.

RE: "Use Both Lanes Until Merge Point"

Traffic circles can work; however, many of the ones being built today are too small to work properly. I've even seen some so small that to get thru them with a trailer you jump the inner curb.
