RE: Unable to identify model of trailer

Check out Jenniesgarage videos regarding a complete rebuild of a Shasta trailer. The frame and aluminum siding were all that were salvaged, so a complete rebuild. https://www.youtube.com/@jenniesgarage/search?query=shasta They are a fun couple to watch;.

RE: Unable to identify model of trailer

looks like a possible utility flat bed trailer project...if the frame hasn't rusted away.

RE: Leaking fresh water tank

Speaking of fw tanks...I was filling with water before setting up camp and couldn't get the water to go in as usual...it burped and splashed back like never before. You could feel air being forced out the inlet past the hose. Hmmm. Crawled under the coach and found the overflow tube, sure enough a mud dauber wasp had plugged it. An ignition key for the truck (old school) was the right size to dig the mud out. Filled fine after that. I guess that's another thing to check when readying the coach for travel. As water goes in air is forced out the overflow tube, unless it's plugged.

RE: Do Some Travel Trailers Have Levelling Jacks?

I have the little stick on levels on my 19' coach. Just be sure you're looking at the correct one when levelling. We just got back from a trip, had the Anderson levelers under the tires in the usual driveway spot, but couldn't get the bubble in the middle! We were looking at the end to end level (on the trailer side) instead of the one on the trailer front for side to side level. Tired maybe?

RE: The Sewer Valve

Maybe a local portable toilet company would be a better bet...their suction hose would be smaller, probably a smaller call-out fee too. Good luck.

RE: Fluctuating water temps

When doing a submarine shower (wet, cut water, soap, run water, rinse) I point the shower head away from me. For some reason it will get what feels like straight hot blasting you when you push the slider over for flow again. Only took once to realize that, and you can't get far away from the blast in a tiny trailer shower/tub stall :)

RE: Custom Built Travel Trailer

Yeah, Brad's coaches were 1 year out when we bought in 2014. Now they are 2 years at least. But worth it. I know many of the coaches are built for US customers. It makes a nice trip to drive up to Ontario and pick up your coach, then camp your way home. Taylorcoach only makes 25 - 30 coaches per year, so each one has individual attention all the way through. If you've seen the Jayco video where they follow a coach from one end of the factorhy to the other in 6-8 hours...it's nothing like that. Brad welds the frames, they form their own aluminum siding, aluminum sheet roof and floor bottom, no chance for mouse infiltration. Overall a great choice. Even if you have to rent or borrow a camper until your Taylorcoach unit is completed, you wouldn't be sorry. Ralph

RE: Custom Built Travel Trailer

Taylorcoach.com in Ontario Canada. They custom make coaches from 8 feet to 24 feet long. You can get whatever you want built in...no slides. I have a 19foot loaded coach, old school design, 2600 pounds empty, 4000pounds GVW. Brad Taylor has videos of walkthroughs of completed coaches and a couple of time lapse builds. ralph
