RE: Heading to Maine-Need Suggestions

I would definitely suggest some time in Acadia and Bar Harbor, we have been here all season and still love it. Stop at Fort Knox State Park for the day and see the fort and go up in the observation tower. Lots to see in Camden and Rockport, just take a long walk around town. We did a nice walk a few weeks back around Belfast, you need to see if the shipyard is doing a tour, unfortunately we missed it. check out McCLoons Lobster Shack in South Thomaston with stop on the way in at the bookstore. we went on a lobster boat tour in ST George, that was fun day seeing how they pull in the traps and getting some history as we toured along the coast There is so much to do!! enjoy tour trip

RE: Recommend a sealant or caulk

I have used Geocel and one recommended by the factory called Manus bond 75-am, I was really impressed with both products. I purchased both from Amazon. I always use Dicor on the roof.

RE: Advice for newbies

We like to use RVParky, google maps and Passport America to find sites as we travel. When we find a park we like to us campground reviews to make sure it has a decent rating. RVParky helps us plan our route and find campsites along the way. Look into the Escapees Club they are all about full timing and have several parks you can stay at.

RE: Step carpet

Excellent! That's exactly what I did after the ones I purchased failed after 6 months. The ones I made lasted over a year and a half, I made extra so I could just replace if one went bad. I finally had to replace 2 of the 4 last month.

RE: Windows 10 Update - Frozen at Downloading 100%

I do a hard restart on my laptop- I hold the power button down until it shuts off then hit it again to start it back up. If you have issues with sound or something else go into the device manager and roll back the driver.

RE: Are these stickers needed??

I also like to pull off the stickers on the camper, I taped them on a sheet of paper and put it in the owner's manual that way they will stay with the camper. I used mayo to get most of the glue off and then the bad ones a mild buffing compound. Eventually they go away or you just don't notice them anymore. LOL

RE: Anyone use a TPMS for their trailer?

I use the Tire Minders, very happy with them and also enjoy the peace of mind while towing

RE: Bar Harbor Campground

when are you coming up? We are in site X22 so stop by and say hi. the Island Explorer is a free shuttle and stops at the campground and takes you to to Acadia and from there you can get on a another Island Explorer to go to Bar Harbor or any where else on the island, it starts running on June 23. there are a few places close by that will deliver lobster to the campground or you can just stop in and take it back. there is also real good ice cream you can walk to from the campground.

RE: 3 month stays

We use RV Parky to find campgrounds and also Passport America. We full time and find month long stays all the time, I don't think you will have any issues finding places to stay for 3 months or longer. The campground we are currently at in Maine you could walk in today and get 3 months no problem. Enjoy life on the road.

RE: campground in Maine??

last year we stayed at Hadleys Point and the Bar Harbor campground, the Island Express route stopped at both of the campgrounds. it would take you in to Acadia NP or you could jump on another bus to go into Bar Harbor and other areas. the Island Explorer is free, we rode for the 6 weeks we spent on the island.

RE: Late Fall Camping Smokies

last year we spent 2 weeks on the Tennessee side and 2 weeks on the North Carolina side and the NC side seemed to be quieter and less crowded. we stayed near Maggie Valley in North Carolina at the Pride Resort (found it on Passport America) very nice park. there were several RV parks in the area too. I would call the campgrounds to see if they are open.
