RE: New Tires - too many options

I will need to replace my tires too, I am looking at the Michelin Defenders. Recommended by a friend who is a retired diesel mechanic and also has them on his truck. The have a great rating on the Tire Rack website. JMHO 2015 350 Dually, CC, Long Bed

RE: how do you keep sewer tank clear

never use chemicals. I drain the tank, use the built in flush, close valve and let fill up for about 8 to minutes (yes I use a timer) then dump, flush and then add about 5 gallons to the tank. We do have a water softener so that helps keep the tank "slick", sometimes I will put some laundry detergent in the tank.

RE: Installing a drain valve

We have an outdoor sink that I would connect to with a hose, this year I wanted to add hot and cold water lines to the sink and get rid of the hose. I drilled 2 holes in the floor (after triple checking the area!!) cut the lines added the fittings using a pex tool and pex fittings. Didn't take but an hour to do, so I think you can and should add the low point drains. It is a good idea to be able to drain down the pressurized lines when the temp drops. JMHO

I used the grease on the rubber mount, per the instructions I got with the hitch, other than that I did exactly as you suggested.

RE: Slide Out Making Banging Sound

The phone number I use is 574-312-6112. It's the service department number. A secretary will answer, she'll tranfer you to the service department case write up person. The case write up person will create a case number and then someone else will set up a schedule date for thr repairs. thank you!

RE: Slide Out Making Banging Sound

I'm going through something similar. My slide is moved in and out with a hydraulic cylinder. When I first got the loud noise when closing the slide, I found I had sheared 4 teeth off the pinion gear which drives the rack attached to the slide. Had it fixed once but they never really got it right. Loud noise continued. It happened again, slide was not closing completely on one end, stuck out 2-1/2 inches. Had another tech look at and fix. Pinion gear still intact, no teeth sheared. Made the adjustment to the pinion and rack so slide would close. Now it has done it again, slide sticks out 2-1/2 inches. So called Lippert and discussed with their tech guy. Long story short, the pinion gear is jumping out of the rack, which is why there is a loud noise. What is happening is the tube the rack slides through has bulged out and allows the rack and pinion to disengage for a few teeth. So now I have an appointment set with Lippert to fix the problem. They will fix the tube and add reinforcement so it does not bulge out again. They’ve had other customers with the same problem so they are well aware of the problem. The suggested fix makes sense to me. Perhaps you have the same problem??? same issue as yours- do you have a contact number for Lippert and maybe someone to talk to about it. thanks

RE: Heading to Maine-Need Suggestions

I would definitely suggest some time in Acadia and Bar Harbor, we have been here all season and still love it. Stop at Fort Knox State Park for the day and see the fort and go up in the observation tower. Lots to see in Camden and Rockport, just take a long walk around town. We did a nice walk a few weeks back around Belfast, you need to see if the shipyard is doing a tour, unfortunately we missed it. check out McCLoons Lobster Shack in South Thomaston with stop on the way in at the bookstore. we went on a lobster boat tour in ST George, that was fun day seeing how they pull in the traps and getting some history as we toured along the coast There is so much to do!! enjoy tour trip

RE: Recommend a sealant or caulk

I have used Geocel and one recommended by the factory called Manus bond 75-am, I was really impressed with both products. I purchased both from Amazon. I always use Dicor on the roof.
