RE: Bad odor when flushing black tank

The bathroom sink, shower, and toilet are vented through the roof, the kitchen sink has AAV under the counter. When I dump, I close the grey tank valves and then dump the black.

RE: Bad odor when flushing black tank

Thanks for the info, I know that the vent works or it wouldn't drain quickly. I'll get a new toilet flange gasket. All of the repairs were done by the RV Doctor in Fort Meyers, worst place ever. I had to redo all of their repairs and they wouldn't fix them because their tech have twenty years in the business and know what they are doing.......I'm not going to go into details here, but suffice it to say I can believe they screwed that up to as I have had to redo everything except the new vinyl floor that they did, and I still have to replace the door frame they damaged when they installed it.

RE: Bad odor when flushing black tank

Doors closed, Fans Off. I open dump valve first, and then turn on flush. I'm thinking of checking the gasket on the bottom of the toilet. I recently had some repairs done by a very incompetent repair facility. They had to put in a new connecting pipe between the toilet and the black tank. What they did leaked and I repaired it myself, no leaks since, but I didn't check the toilet gasket.

Bad odor when flushing black tank

When I dump the black tank and flush is causes the whole camper to smell. I close off both grey tanks, dump black tank with the flush system running while, flushing, then I close dump valve for a couple of minutes with the flush system on, and then dump again to get a good rinse. I do not over fill. The last few times I have done this I get a strong sewage odor inside the RV. No leaks that I can see. Any suggestions on what to check?

RE: Water pump on fiver periodically pulses

If you have no leaks, then it's probably the check valves in the pump leaking down. They make rebuild kits for most pumps which usually come with a new diaphragm and new valves. Look online with your pump part number

RE: clothes washer

Are you looking for a whirlpool washer dryer stacked or only a washer? The stacked units are usually to tall.

RE: Whats Your Real Weights? Truck and Trailer. The Real Deal

Well we had a bit of a surprise when we weighed this week. :E Not a Cat Scale, but ODOT road side scal accurate within 50#, scale was about one mile from park we were leaving. TV 2001 Ram 2500 with Camper Package. Trailer 2005 Sprinter 293 FWSWS 32' Unloaded TV with full fuel with most stuff loaded. Front GAWR 5,200# scaled 4,500# Rear GAWR 6,084# scaled 3,350# Loaded TV Front 4,550# Rear 5,950# Total 10,500# Trailer Pin 10,500# - 7,850# = 2,650 Axles 10,125 5er total 10,125# + 2,650# = 12,775 Total GCVW 20,625# This rig tows great does well on hills both up and down. This is stock 2500 with Camper Package and a full set of Bilstein 5100 shocks. https://i.imgur.com/9yiIhxR.jpg https://i.imgur.com/bIVQHFv.jpg https://i.imgur.com/clP6r2u.jpg If your truck has an auto, you might want to check into putting the 3rd gen front brakes on the truck, it's about 35% more brakes over the second gen. You will have to change your wheels and tires, but its a very big improvement and not that expensive. I have a 2000 2nd gen with bigger brakes, 19.5 wheels and tires, Allison auto, bigger drive line and more power, pulls great, towing a 16000 lb camper. I have yet to weight the rig. that's next.

RE: Extremely disappointed

The BS from them is becoming unbelievable. The Montana State Insurance Comissioner is now involved. I'll give a detailed update in a few days. This situation is pathetic.

RE: Extremely disappointed

1st off it will be a small claims court case. So I will sue the person who sold me the policy, he will most likely not work for the company and will be under Supeona to show. One of two things will happen he won't show, or a lawyer will show on his behalf, I will ask the lawyer for his first hand knowledge of the conversation, without that he is forbidden to testify. There's a little more involved but the situation doesn't look good. I will also try to purchase another policy to show that they don't disclose. I went to litigation school and have dealt with similar situations before and a friend of mine is an attorney, and he said that he never wants to go up against me. But I think a class action would be good. Is it worth it, no, should it be done, yes.

RE: Extremely disappointed

Latest update. I contacted two insurance comissioners offices, Florida and Montana, both of them said that they can charge the fees and nothing in the law says that they are required to disclose it, and that the are getting a lot of complaints. I also called my lawyer and asked him, he said that under contract law, a failure to discloseus a violation and in his opinion they would lose, and that I have one year and sometimes more to file against them.

RE: Extremely disappointed

Update: Got a call from National general, basically they said that the state allows them to charge thus fee and they won't waive it. I told them that there sales person never informed me of it and he said we don't, we only talk about our benefits. I said I guess I'll have to file a complaint with the insurance commissioner and file a law suit and he said he didn't care and I should do what I have to. I'll post his name here as soon as I have it.

RE: Extremely disappointed

The policy was written from Florida(what was recommended by sales person) as that is where I was heading at the time. My residence is in Montana. I was in the process of moving to Montana when the hurricanes hit and got called out to work, bought a 5th wheel online when I got asked to work in Florida for a 8 months, before I head back to Montana. A friend recommended Good Sam, and I figured I'd give the a try. I was with AAA in CA at the time who wouldn't insure the trailer. I should clarify; the policy with Good Sam was purchased over the phone, looked up online. The sales person never mentioned a 10% early termination penalty. I found out about it after getting quotes that were high, and even higher in Montana, BS meter went off so I started shopping and found AAA to be the best in Montana. So I canceled with GS. Hurricanes suck when you're trying to move, I now have stuff in three states. Lol.

RE: Extremely disappointed

I haven't paid it. They said I need to pay it immediately or they will send it to collections.

Extremely disappointed

Recently bought a new RV trailer and was recommended to use Good Sam, bought a policy online and planned to move my vehicles over as well. I got a quote from Good Sam that seemed high at around 3000 per year. So I priced shopped and AAA came in at less than half with more coverage. I canceled with Good Sam and switched. National General (Good Sam) called me today telling me I now owe the 175.00 for early termination. My biggest problem with this is that I purchased the policy online, they took my card number and mailed me the policy. No mention of an early termination penalty was ever mentioned, not one word. Who does that kind of stuff? It was bad enough that their prices were more expensive then everyone else, but this is just bad business.

RE: Need to get shot

If he's 440 lbs over now and he puts 600 lbs on the front, he'll be even higher on the axle, not less. Most axles are built with a 20-30 % margin for weight load, not counting road load, which means he already into a grey area. Axles, spings, bearings, wheels may be stressed, tires are the easy part.

RE: Need to get shot

I've asked this twice, so this is the third time, What size axles are on your trailer? If they are 7000 lb, then most of the suggestions are out.

RE: Need to get shot

3 maybe 4 cases of beer in the forward storage compartment. Done. Capital idea. That way you have your 'beverage' with you. That will only work on the way out. How about the return trip? Thats, easy, the person who drank all the beer must ride in the front of the trailer on the way back...lol!
