RE: Need batterys.

A Study on CEF lead acid ... "More importantly, notice the dramatically lower efficiencies for the increments above about 80% state of charge, where most values are below 60% efficiency, and full charge is represented by less than 50% efficiency. "

RE: Propane leaks during storage.

Time + thermal cycling w/leaks causes vacuum to suck in air. the longer closed and not used yields more air. Yes, but HOW MUCH VACUUM needs to be generated to PULL the outside air IN thru Rubber gaskets/seals? I doubt atmospheric Vacuum can pull air in thru a tight almost completely sealed system. Doug VERY LITTLE, I have no doubt (goes both ways). Open and close over short periods and there is little issue, close for weeks/months and the issue is there. If 15.5 psia can leak to 15 psia then cooling and the pressure drops to ?? 14.5 psia or less? The stick lighter flicker is my clue (long periods of closed) that it ain't propane causing the flicker.

RE: Solar charge question

some fancier controller have diversionary loads when the controller is limiting power production, like using excess power to heat water stored in the water heater.

RE: Portable suitcase solar panels

Gave brother 100w folding with ecoworthy cheesy 13.8v controller, he's giving it back, I intend to wire a better controller near the battery with the panels connecting via a plug and long wires.

RE: Solar energy when battery disconnect is applied

how will the energy be controlled? open circuit (disconnected) panels do not make power. Leave the panels connected to controller and controller connected to batts.

RE: Panels don't run things

Sounds like a cranky answer to me - same as someone referring to a hot water heater. I don't know which answer is cranky, but what do YOU say to people who ask this? I say the storage tank is full of hot water that gets heated all the time, over and over.

RE: Propane Bleeder Valve

How many years since it was certified? If somewhat close to the 12 years mandatory I would just have it updated and stamped. Frame mounted tanks do not need re certification. They fall into a different category than the free standing tanks. I am not a Motorhome expert but I "ASSUME" they don't all have "Frame Mounted Tanks" ??? The OP did not mention what he has unless I missed it??? I believe 'pliers' is the give away that it is not a bleeder valve built into the OPD valve.

RE: Solar and Charger into one?

A load tester apples a large load to a battery and hopefully the voltage does not drop below 9v. Turn it off and the voltage returns to near where it started.

RE: Solar charge current

Battery and/or bank of batteries will accept all they can until a voltage set pt is reached. Then the controller limits power to the battery to maintain the set pt voltage. High current into a small bank will cause the bank's voltage to rise quicker and then be limited by the constant voltage set pt.

RE: WFCO WF-8725 - How Do I Add Another Circuit/Breaker

the wfco 8725 has a neutral and ground bus with 4 slots each. Ground: Main incoming green, converter green, #1 circuit green and chassis bare. So you would double one if allowed by WFCO. Neutral should have one available. An alternative is the daisy chain (pigtail) off the existing outlet, no new breaker needed.

Wow, 4 hrs at the push of a button. Longer than generator time, nothing new!

RE: Not A Joke Top Off With Gasoline or Diesel

Topped off my scooter's 1.1 gallon tank with .9 gallons of $2.58 91 octane. Last time the sky was falling locally (N. TX, as hurricane Harvey hovered over Houston), there was a local shortage as folks were storing gas (topping off) in their vehicles. That's a lot of storage.

RE: 6 Volt RV batteries

People that have dug deeper have allegedly discovered that the maker of what was the 'good' Costco batts is now the supplier for Sam's (Johnson Controls IIRC). Anyway, here's my disclaimer: I didn't go out & validate that myself but rather took the cumulative info I saw saying the same thing & went with it. YMMV They change supplies often!!! As best I can tell sams has E Penn Deka (duracell) all across the lower 48.

RE: Charging ?

I'd use ye ole manual 6A charger overnight on a slightly discharged G24, 12hrs later I had tiny bubbles @ 15.3v, ~70F (charger analog meter very low amps). Considered it a top charge.
