RE: storage door lock

My truck cap lock was the same way. Watched a youtube video that said to squirt some penetrating oil inside where the key goes. Let it soak for awhile, then get a set of pliers and grip the key as close to the lock as possible and wiggle it, then slowly try to turn it. Be careful as to not put too much pressure on it as that will bend or break off the key-then you've got a bigger problem. Tried it and after a few more squirts of oil and with the pliers it finally worked. Again, be careful not to turn the pliers too hard as to break or bend the key. gary

RE: Dually towing TT

Towed a TT same length as yours, about 1500lbs heavier many thousands of miles with a dually. Never used WD or sway bars. Only time I ever had any sway was with a utility trailer that was loaded with way to much weight on the rear & not enough on the tongue(my fault). Kept the speed low and all was ok.

RE: Two-wheel down car caddy .... can I tow with rear wheels up?

If it's front wheel drive, probably not. But your owner's manual should have the final say. :h

RE: Help Deciphering CAT Scale Weights

Not an expert at this, but I think we need more info-truck size(1/2 ton 3/4 ton etc) load range of tires on truck and trailer, weight rating of axles and tires on trailer., For me all those weights would mean I'm good to go, but I have a diesel dually.

RE: 2 dump valves for one tank

I have a leprechaun also. I dump mine just as you do with the exception that I have a black tank rinse. Where you add water to your tank to rinse I close the passenger valve and rinse. So basically I do it exactly as you do.

RE: Ft Worth campground

Thanks, looks like Valentines is not available for 2 consecutive nights(maybe one site Thur and move to another Fri}. There's a Cabelas up the road, does anyone know if they allow overnighting there as it will probably be very late Thursday when we arrive?

Ft Worth campground

Any decent campgrounds between Ft worth and Grapevine TX? Headed there next week, possibly Thur & Fri. Don't need anything fancy, just a place to park with electric. Headed to Watauga-maybe within say, 20 miles or so. Gary

RE: What did you do to your Camper Today?

Checked and aired up the tires, drove to propane dealer and filled the propane. Getting ready to take grandson to Texas next week for college. Praying that the weather will be cooler then than it is now-107 around Ft Worth today-not much fun when it's that hot.

RE: Dinghy Tow Tacoma w/Manual Transmission

Was considering a tacoma last year to tow 4 down. Went to Toyota dealer to enquire-after going through the service department, and them telling me that they had called Toyota, I was told that towing a Tacoma(manual trans.)4 down, was not recommended or couldn't be done(don't remember which one). If I remember correctly they said that Toyota makes no vehicle that can be towed 4 down(but I'm not positive on that one). Did not consider a disconnect

RE: Kent’s Island MD camping nearby

Stayed there many times. all sites wooded, spaced a fair distance from each other, well patrolled by rangers. Usually full on weekends. We usually are there 2 or 3 times a year. There really aren't any bad spots. Gary

RE: Coating epdm roof on our fifth wheel.

A couple years ago we had a 28' TT that we coated with dicor epdm rubber roof coating system. The TT was a 2000 model and the white roof was nearly gray with spider cracks all over it. I believe we used 2 gallons. It only took 2-3 hours and the roof looked like a brand new roof, shiny and smooth. When we gave the trailer to our daughter it looked(thanks to the roof) like it hardly ever been used and had been kept inside. Oh I forgot to say we washed it with a soft bristle brush before we painted it.

RE: towing Prius with tow dolly

I have a '17 Toyota Camry Hybrid that I have towed many miles on a tow dolly-no problems. Only issue I ever had was using a set of magnetic tail lights and put the wire across the hood. There's now a set of scuff marks where the wires blew back and forth. :S:M

RE: UPDATED - Ran over Gator

'Gator' is trucker slang for those big old pieces of tire tread laying in the road.

RE: Travel When Restrictions lifted

Had planned a New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland trip for May-June, but that may be too early after they are lifted. Possibly, hope not, they could start again(Lockdowns) and I don't want to get caught in another country. Maybe will do that this fall. Probably do the Blue Ridge Parkway. Sorry, non essential travel from US into Canada such as a vacation is banned by the Canadian government.I know, that's why I wrote "after they are lifted"
