RE: Replacement axle question.

Original Poster here. I got back under the trailer and took more measurements. The axle is aligned correctly and centered as it should be. I feel like an idiot but when I sighted down the trailer I was lining it up with the concrete pad it was on. I was showing my camping buddy how off it was. He said, "no it's not, the trailer isn't straight on the pad!!!" Dang, he was right!!! That's when I remeasured the axle. Thanks for all the replies sorry for being a dunce. I don't drink but maybe I should start!!! LOL

RE: Replacement axle question.

H Got under the trailer today and the new axle is 1/2 inch narrower than the original. Diameter or length???? The axle is 1/2 inch shorter in length.

Replacement axle question.

Hey guys, I have a question some of you might be able to answer. I had a bent axle replaced by a local company. The trailer tows fine and braking is good. I had them replace the springs and brakes all around. So the only thing original is the front axle. I thought it looked a little off but told myself it was all in my head. Got under the trailer today and the new axle is 1/2 inch narrower than the original. You can see it on the drivers side. The curb side is lined up like it should be. Is this going to be a problem down the road? Thanks.

RE: Torklift Glowstep Revolution Review

I love ours, I have had both knees replaced and going from a 3 step to a 4 step is awesome!!! The steps are rock solid. They are a bit pricy but worth every penny.

RE: Wearing under bedroom slide ???

The rollers are wearing on the underside of the bedroom slide, I priced stainless 10" by 27" 1/8 thick was told $750. for 2 pieces, seems a bit high, is there an alternate material I can use that's more reasonably priced. Thanks 1/8 inch thick seems a bit extreme to me. Thin aluminum would be cheaper and easier to use I would think. I haven't done it yet but have been thinking about it as I have had to rebuild our bedroom slide. I also used a short piece of aluminum drip rail to help stop the wicking. Seems to work well. Good luck.

RE: Exterior Stairs

laknox: To expensive compared to other brands. As I stated I tried some modified repairs to my old steps and they are holding just fine. Hope it continues. I can think of other things I can do with $700 than a flight of accordion stairs. Perhaps, the price will come down later, or another brand will allow me to purchase at a "reasonable" price. "Reasonable" price is in the eye of the beholder I think. Went to the local RV show this weekend. Almost all of the units had the one piece design steps. While they where solid feeling they also we more narrow then the Glowsteps. I am not a fan of the price of the Glowsteps either. After much debate with myself, I finally let go of the money but didn't tell the wife how much I spent. She was very happy with the Glowsteps and while she didn't like the price either, she says she is glad I bought them. Should the OP'er decide to buy them I don't think they will regret that purchase in the long run. Good luck.

RE: Bicycles

We mounted a front hitch to our F350. Put both of our bikes on there. You can clearly see them and the view of the road isn't obstructed. We use a bike rack that the bikes rest on their wheels and not hanging. It works very well for us. Only drawback is that they do catch a few bugs.https://i.imgur.com/y5Ypb7Ml.jpg]https://i.imgur.com/y5Ypb7Ml.jpg

RE: Exterior Stairs

Another GlowStep satisfied customer here. Hands down the best mod I have done to our 5er. Couldn't have been easier to install, 4 bolts and done. I have had both knees replaced and going from a 3 step to a 4 step made all the difference in the world to me. Good luck.

RE: Eternabond over Dicor on PVC roof

Eterna Bond makes a cleaner for use with their tape. Just Google it. Good luck on your project.

RE: Roof tear along edge ...

No need to remove the molding. Just use the Eterna bond tape up to the edge of the molding. First remove as much of the Dicor as you can. Install your Eterna bond and cover edges with fresh Dicor. You should be good to go. Good luck.

RE: Truck Scalping

Just an FYI for people wanting to order a new truck. I had a co-worker that ordered a new F350 with the gas 7.3 on December 31 last year. He just got it last week. Wow!!!

RE: Rec Pro ???

We bought the love seat recliners this spring. Fast shipping and good communication from Rec Pro. We shall see how long they last.

RE: Solitude leaning to one side.

I just replaced mine on my 2019 Momentum. Mind sharing what shop you took your trailer to? Thinking about changing mine out and not sure where to go besides Croft.

RE: Trailer sway milestone 377mb

And the truck is handling weird unloaded. I would start here. Off hand, I think you should have kept the F350 but I am biased.

RE: B&W fail or Operator Error?

OP'er here. My buddy and I have discussed this over and over and even he says it had to be operator error. And what is really amazing to me is the estimate to repair the truck, over $5400!!!! Wow, just wow.

B&W fail or Operator Error?

Not my truck, trailer or hitch. Buddy of mine had this happen to him a couple of weeks ago. Said he did a pull test, all was good. When he pulled out of the campsite it disconnected. I do not have anymore pics than what are shown here. I think he must have missed the second hole when he pinned it. He has had this setup for about 4 years without a problem. He did hook it back up and drove 3 1/2 hrs to the next campground. What are your thoughts? https://i.imgur.com/Pe84l3Ml.jpg https://i.imgur.com/8LGP9kRl.jpg

RE: Water pump woes UPDATED!!!!

SUCCESS!!!! I did find the air leak. I went to the hardware store and bought a fitting to plug into the end of the hose from the water tank. I then attached my blow out plug that I use for winterizing and applied 20psi of air pressure. I'll be darned if the leak was where I thought it was. In the last pic above it was behind the little block of wood. So all in all I have $70 in a new water pump (thought originally that was the problem), and $80 in pex tools and clamps. I think it would have cost me more than $150 if I had to take it to a dealer. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. You all are awesome!! Thanks again. This is how I hooked up the air from my little compressor. https://i.imgur.com/y077pGcl.jpg The short red section of hose is where the leak was. That is the new piece in the picture. https://i.imgur.com/OSSZNzYl.jpg

RE: Water pump woes UPDATED!!!!

OP'er here. I checked and no o-ring in the cap for the winterization port. I found one in my plumbing stash and installed it. I have the hose from the water tank disconnected and stuck into a bucket of water. The pump sucks the water out of the bucket just fine and the pump will build pressure and shut off just fine. When I open the bathroom sink faucet it runs good for a few minutes then will start spitting again. It's not as bad as before the o-ring but it still spits. I have ordered a set of pex plumbing tools and will start replacing sections of the manifold. I am at a loss so that is my only recourse that I can see. Thanks to everyone who has responded. The encouragement is definitely a help. Here is some pics of my water setup. All the fittings appear to be tight except one. It is behind that block of wood. I will replace the pipe and the clamps when my pex tools come in. Again thanks. https://i.imgur.com/GLbqBuVl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/irGWonul.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Mu7ckCAl.jpg

RE: Water pump woes UPDATED!!!!

wa8yxm I had thought of that and checked if the cap was tight. Is there supposed to be a gasket in that cap? Thanks midnightsadie I had thought of that too but the pump works as it is supposed to when I attach a hose and stick it in a bucket. When I do that the strainer is still attached. What really puzzles me is there is no water dripping anywhere I can find. I would think if it was sucking air it would leak also.

Water pump woes UPDATED!!!!

I need help!!! They say that's the first step admitting you need help. LOL Okay here are the details. Trailer is a 2015 and has been flawless for the 2 years we have owned it. Last month we were camping without a water hookup. Ran out of water and refilled no problem. Ran out again a few days later and tried filling from the winterization port. Got the water into the tank but when using it started sputtering and spitting like it was still out of water or sucking air. Ended up blowing air into the inlet line and it started working! We went out this week when we ran out of water the same thing happened. This time blowing air into the inlet line didn't do any good. I removed the inlet line again and attached a hose and stuck it in a bucket. Water pump works as it is supposed to. Replaced the inlet line and then removed the line going into the water tank and put the line into a bucket. Still spitting air. I am at a loss as what to do next. I am hesitant to start removing pex fittings but will if I have to. Is there a way to pressurize the system to check for a leak? I haven't seen any water leaking anywhere. Some times the pump will pressurize and shut off other times it just runs. Any suggestions are welcome. I don't want to take it to the dealer. Thanks.
