RE: Alarming spalling failures on 7.3 Godzilla

I'm assuming you use that service and can attest to it's reliability?
Just from previous posts, I'm thinking if he does use those services, it is not working for him. In all fairness, he's not been here that long, so a big improvement may be noticed as his post count increases.
Jerry I'm guessing a disposable "sock" of an existing member who feels compelled to post stupid/offensive stuff but hopes to dodge the consequences. Wonder who...?
Lol. Your interest for the well being of rv.net is noticed and appreciated. But I’m sure there’s an EV issue that you could better spend your time spinning yarns aboot…LOL, interesting that you would be the guy who responded.... FWIW, you won't see me in EV threads anymore. I figured I wouldn't discuss that with folks like you in real life so why bother on the internet? :R

RE: Ram 1500 owners.... tires

What he said!
And then get some LT E load tires if you’re towing anything significant or just want to experience much longer tire life for not much more money.Agree. IME they noticeably increased stability at the rear of the truck with no downside.

Actually I've been thinking it's time for me to go. I wouldn't have these conversations with folks like y'all in real life so why bother on the internet? I do wish I could send you some of our deranged politicos.:B

RE: Pet Peeves in RV Parks

Old myths. Modern diesels only need to warm up 3 or 4 minutes and aren't problematic to start. Things were different waaay back. On the other hand, that big throbbing engine may make them feel so frisky they need another few minutes to get on the road.

RE: EV alternative for light/medium duty trucks

Nope, you won't find even one legitimate source that disagrees with what the EPA has published in that link. You can't believe in facts and science and deny climate change (or the net benefits of EVs) when virtually all scientists acknowledge it. As for kool aid, it seems to me that climate change deniers often embrace a plethora of other conspiracy theories. Are you talking about conspiracy theories like J6?LOL thank you for reinforcing my point!;)
You should move to some nice liberal sanctuary city like Seattle or Philly or at least have to deal with the c rap of living in a blue state if you’re going to continually bash conservatives.
It’s super hypocritical to be able to reap the benefits of living in a nice conservative state/environment and yet bash everything that it stands for.
Put your money where your mouth is and come enjoy all the things you “love” on the far left coast….
Might change your mind if you had to live it…
LolLOL,thanks but I can't afford to live in the PNW! Interesting and sad that you think you are able guess my politics by my posts about climate change. Maybe ask yourself why one of our political parties became anti-science.:h

RE: RV insurance claim - flood

If the water came up above the frame, lobby for totalling it. Just like an auto, it will never be "right."

RE: Extinction of Fossil Fuels

From what I read, fewer than 10% of US adults (and more importantly zero% climate scientists) are still climate change deniers/fossil fuel proponents. It seems clear that RVers will need to eventually adapt to evolving energy use. My WAG is we'll be RVing much as we are for at least 10 or 15 years which should cover it for most of us. Relax.

RE: RV insurance claim - flood

Details of this urgent situation would be interesting. You may be better off if they total the thing. You aren't going to be happy with an RV that has been flooded and "repaired" unless it's a down to the bones restoration. Service backlogs being what they are, even a relatively minor repair could have you abandoning the trip and returning home for the wait.

RE: RVIA Certificate?

I agree that it's probably just a way to weed out undesirables and a quick phone call would ease your mind. Sketchy folks from the entire eastern US seem to be sucked down to FL, then get stuck because they can't go any farther. For sure they have some unique problems.

I want it too!! In fact, I hope to live long enough to get all mine and a bunch more as well. Currently 18.8 years to get bothEE and ER contributions, plus interest. So less than 10 years to get back our part. Those of us over 75 are cruising from now on!:B

To paraphrase Fiddler on the Roof "May God Bless the Government, and keep it far away from us".Just repeat after me:
"We're from the government, and we're here to help you." :)Yep, get the guvmint off our backs! Well, unless they want to send a Social Security check or pay my bills with Medicare or keep the Ruuskies out of my backyard....:B

RE: EV alternative for light/medium duty trucks

Of course government tyranny and conspiracy theories are much better click bait than the truth.I won't be around but it would be interesting to see how historians write about the past 30 years. The era leading up to and including the Civil War has been described as a "derangement of the public mind." Citizens of 11 states collectively went off the rails. The conspiracy mindset of today is less excusable since folks have easy access to accurate info if they care to look.

RE: EV alternative for light/medium duty trucks

^^^ The CNN article is legit but I'm not sure it makes the point you think it makes. Musk sold some energy credits in a timely fashion. These credits would have been available to any mfg had they been producing low emissions vehicles. His rocket company made a bunch of money because NASA wanted transportation other than the Russians. Defense contractors get rich off taxpayer dollars, what's new or unique? Uncle Sam has bailed out Chrysler twice. Bailed out GM, $12 Billion. Bailed out S&Ls $130 Billion.... Yeah he's a reprehensible human but all this hand wringing is no more warranted than the sudden frenzy over "cobalt slaves" by folks with a house full of products from China.

RE: EV alternative for light/medium duty trucks

Speaking of subsidies, looks as if $2 Trillion of our money has been spent on post 9/11 wars. Pretty obvious subsidy to "Big Oil." Where do the, as Grit calls them, "goat fookers" get the $ to attack us and other advanced countries? Oil, maybe?

RE: EV alternative for light/medium duty trucks

Elon is not the richest (or was) man in the world from selling Teslas. It's because the US gave him Billions in funding from taxpayer dollars. I'm not fan of Musk, just another entitled rich guy IMO. Slams gov't subsidies for others while lobbying hard for his own. However his net worth has been as high as $320 Billion while his companies have received about $7 Billion from the Feds. To be fair, it wasn't all subsidies. Much of it was payment for work done on space stuff, misguided though it may have been. You are probably right that he didn't make his fortune from selling Teslas but he didn't get it from US taxpayers either. Facts can be inconvenient when they are so easily checked.:R

Yes, South Florida will eventually be completely under water. Can we somehow blame this on Elon Musk and his vast conspiracy involving EPA and its counterparts worldwide, supported by virtually all scientists? And pedophiles, they're involved somehow....:h

RE: Roadtrip by car vs RV, a couple of thoughts...

Definitely good to re-evaluate this periodically. I prefer to eat my own food in a clean environment and sleep in my own clean bed. On the other hand, 60+ mpg in the Prius puts a dent in the $ difference between a campsite and a hotel room. Plus it's much more difficult to get sites where we'd like to go than it was 20 years ago.
