RE: Which motorhome to buy

really only a question you can answer. your budget will afford you many options. will really come down to which unit best fits your needs.

RE: coronavirus...put it into perspective

As with most blogs everywhere else many of these posts miss the main danger from this virus: the fact that it is so easily transmitted from person to person and has the ability to completely destruct the medical community. Everyone likes to compare it to the flu. The flu does not have the ability to crash the medical system. Nor do heart attacks. Drug overdoses. Car crashes etc etc

RE: Roof inspection.

Might I ask how long it has been since anyone has inspected your roof? Are you experiencing any signs of leaking inside your rig? The answers to both of these questions may determine who you select to go up...

RE: Roswell NM

This area has been impacted by the crazy oil rush in southern NM. You will find most RV parks to be full. Best to look for state/county parks where your stay is limited to 2 weeks.

RE: tow vehicle advice

We decided on a dually when making this decision. But we do not use the dually as a daily driver either.

RE: Thanks..and a Slide Question

The slide question is really about two things: extra space (only you can decide if you need it) and the additional weight/cost of the rig due to the slide.

RE: Valve stem extensions for DRW

They make extensions you simply screw on to your inner tire. About an inch long. It is all I ever use. Never leaks and very inexpensive.

RE: Black tank release cable

Our cables are several feet long. Never understood how lubricant would travel all the way down the cable

RE: Toilet clog

Not sure how long everyone else's arms are and/or what type of toilet this post applies to but in order to stick one's arm down the crapper and reach a potential **** pile your arm would have to be 5 feet long!

RE: Electric heated water hose

We leave ours attached and just unplug it Hose is not exposed to the sun

RE: Thoughts on the 'need' factor of a main line surge protector

Simply put: you must have one

RE: Buying an RV with patched water leak

The bubble on the ceiling needs to be opened up so you can see the entire ceiling area to properly assess the water damage. Walk on the roof to see if it is "spongy". You live in Phoenix so the condition of the HVAC is paramount. This unit needs to be looked at very closely. A rig that old might need all new HVAC. I, personally, would be very leery of planning on full timing in a rig of this age.

RE: Slide out awnings yay or nay?

Live in NM in our RV full time. Don't have them. Would tend to think the wind would terrorize them over a very short timeframe.

RE: Toilet clog

Is it changeable without being emptied first? Do you recall how much the replacement was? I have been advised to use some good lubricant and try to get it working better but yes it's very very tight to push in and more specifically to pull out, she has no vehicle to actually move this thing so we're trying our best to figure it out in her current location:/ so no to the flush king with a full clog, thanks ?? I would say no. Ours was empty when I changed it out. The part was only $15 Try to chase the cable til you find the gate valve, if possible, you may be able to get the gate valve open if you can get close to it.

RE: 1st TT arriving tomm, what is your check list for setup?

Do you have a friend who is well versed in RV's that could assist you in running thru the systems to make sure they work correctly?

RE: 1st TT arriving tomm, what is your check list for setup?

I would not accept the trailer without making sure everything works on both shore power, generator power (if it has it) and that those things that work off battery power function correctly. Does it have slide outs? Check these. If it comes with a generator make sure the transfer switch on the generator works correctly. Ours did not and we almost burned our RV to the ground, and would have if I had not found this installation error.

RE: Toilet clog

If the wire connected to your gate valve is extremely hard to pull/push in your gate valve may not be opening properly. I just replaced ours for this reason.

RE: We were shocked to learn our newly purchased TT

It's just lovely parked next door to one of those when it fires up at 3am. How much noise does s water heater make? Likely a lot less than when he fires up his three generators...
