RE: Evaporative Coolers for Lance

Evap coolers would, IMHO, create a nightmare inside your rig due to the high level of humidity they create. And if it is humid outside they are totally useless.

RE: Pagosa Springs CO and Angel Fire NM... Too much fun!

Much water flowing by the Springs? Likely not. We body surfed on the river a few years back. What a riot!

RE: Amarillo to Red River Suggestions

Done this route many a time. Never heard of "Bobcat Pass" and never noticed it when driving thru.

RE: Recommendations for a noob...

Not sure of your experience level with purchasing a new camper but the walk thru is very important. Before you accept the truck camper make sure they take you thru every system to make sure all is well

RE: Metal carport RV shelter

Did the exact thing last year for a 38' fifthwheel. Went with a 40" carport but if I had to do it over I would have went with a 48' foot carport. We are in NM and would desire a bit more shade. Specs look good.

RE: Where to begin

I would advise you to create a budget for your "project". A rig that old has, essentially, zero value. How much are you willing to invest in the rig to get it completely road worthy? Know this before you start. IMHO.

RE: Broken rear window

Easy to replace the entire window if you can get one. Ours cost $800 but only took an hour to swap out.

RE: SE Michigan to Texas in July

Unless it is a wedding or a funeral I would not go to Houston in July! :)

RE: Elephant Butte is best but what's closer?

The Butte is nice but it is not the best lake in NM, IMHO

RE: Would you switch from Class A to Travel Trailer

at the end of the day it is really what you and the wife feel is best for you and your lifestyle/desires. Both units have their pro's and con's. If you are not going to use the unit much more than you stated I would go with the most inexpensive alternative of the two

RE: hot water rv heater

not mentioned thus far is that when you lite your hot water heater after not being used for awhile one should always check the relief valve on the hot water heater to make sure all air is purged. If no water comes out your tank is empty. DO NOT TURN THE HEATER ON. If this is the case.
