RE: finding value for the RV

Years ago when I was involved with the credit union we always kept up to date NADA books for values so we knew what we wanted to loan on vehicles. That would be free to you to ask, I would not even think you needed to be a member.

RE: SS TracBar Install (F53)

When I had that chassis under my motorhome at that time, I had the jacks down to crawl under and loosely install the track bar. Then once it was basicly on, raised the jacks and then tightened it all down. Made a HUGE difference in how secure the MH drove when pulling my car. Was a good investment for me, hope youy like it too.

RE: Tucson AZ area recommendations?

I tried to get into the KOA in Tucson with a 40 ft motorhome for Thanksgiving, told no space but maybe if you have something shorter might be worth a try. It is a nice park and we enjoy being there when we can get in.

RE: Fleetwood/Flexsteel Seat Covers

When did this happen? I tried to get replacement covers last year from Tiffin and was told they were not made anymore and find some other way to get the covers made. Ended up getting them recovered by a trim shop, pretty expensive. Have a 2011 Tiffin Allegro Open Road with the same problem as you, peeling of our front captain chairs. Tiffin customer service was outstanding - they have sent complete replacement covers, once installed (minimal cost) look like new. All replacements came to me free of charge. Yahoo

RE: Campground availability for next summer

Used to full time and was out there for 8 years, never really had any issues finding spots to camp. Always used private rv parks. Got off the road for 10 years and are now going out for 3 or 4 months at a time. I have found with a 40 ft rig like we own now, we have to plan way ahead in calling for spaces for us. Parks seem to have spots for shorter units, but once you have a larger rig it can get harder. Leaving in 2 weeks for a 1000 mile drive, need 4 parks to get to the place we will sit for a while. Ended up calling 7 parks before I got the 4 spots needed.

RE: Pro-Pride Hitch

We are now into a motorhome, but we did own a travel trailer that swayed all over the road with the large SUV I had as atow vehicle. It was our decision to try the Hensley hitch and that made all the difference to allow us to continue a sway free drive. I do know if I was ever to go back to a travel trailer it would have either a pro pride or a Hensley hitch hooked to it. They used to have a money back warranty if you didn't like how it performed. What have you got to loose? It will make your towing experiance comfortable.

RE: Tiffin outstde storage doors

Exactly what are you asking, the striker lock bar for ease of opening the handle or the actual side door hinges? or how the door fits in the opening?

RE: What is too hot

My TST sytem will alarm at 157 degrees, have had it go off once on my truck when a brake pad stuck and got the brakes too hot radiating into the wheel & tire. Let me know I had a problem that I was able to fix. Highest I normally will see in Arizona during the summer while driving is mid 120 degrees.

RE: Windshield sunscreen

We looked at a few rigs in various campgrounds that had the MagnaShade on them, talked with the owners and decided to spend the big bucks for our own set. Very pleased and would suggest them to others. We bought the front windshield and the drivers and passenger front windows too. Does make a huge difference in the heat getting into the rig.

RE: Hellwig Sway Bars on 2021 24-footer

I did the same on my 27 ft class C and was towing a car. To help even more I added the rear trac bar from Helwig. The two sway bars helped a LOT but that trac bar made the rig drive straight and true.

RE: Electric Windshield Shade problem

On our rig the windshield sunshade and night shade have two seperate motors. Watching various videos on You Tube can give you some ideas on how that unit comes out and how to replace the motors. Might want to do both at the same time once you have them down and out.I had a warranty repair on my motorhome and watched the tech pull the unit out and replace the motor, not a terrible job. The electric shade in the windshield of my motorhome won't respond when I press the switch for it. I don't hear anything from the motor that moves it. The sunshade behind it was working fine but now will only go up and down about a foot. Are they both operated by the same motor? Does this sound like something I can repair myself? Please help. It's hot out there!

RE: front seats

Our 2013 Tiffin had the same issue on the frint seats and also on the couch. Had the front seats recovered by a trim shop as the original covers were no longer able to be purchased.Had covers made for the couch, it is a industry wide problem and having the covers remade is probably going to be your only option.

RE: Campground Rates

Was camping 75 away from Glaicer National park, stopped at a rv park very close to the entrance, asked about a site to fit my 40 ft MH? Nope none this year, and only 8 nights for next year, not all in a row, 3 days then 5 days in different months. I asked the rates? $197.50 per night at this years rate, but expect it to go up about 10% for next year. Decided I didn't need to return next year at rates like that. Will find another part of the country to visit.

RE: Windshield covers

Out for 3 months roaming around the North West and got tired of being cooked with the heat coming through the windshield and side glass. Yep, Magna Shade are very expensive and they are about 6 weeks out from placing an order, but having them up and working for the past few days was well worth the investment. These things just plain work. Have not met anyone who owns them that has felt they spent money foolishly.

RE: Anyone have an all elec. car

I own a 2019 Model X 100D and LOVE it, we use it as our everyday vehicle. I charge from home either on Saturday or Sunday ( electric rates are lower on weekend) for a few hours to bring the battery up to 80% charge. I use the car all week and get it down to about 35 to 40% charge, so about 160 to 200 miles used. As close as I can figure it costs me about $8.50 to $9.00 to charge it back up at home. Lots of room, fast, very comfortable and so far zero maintenance costs. Just wish it was 4 down towable. I bought it in North Carolina and drove it cross country to Az. Really enjoyed that drive and how easy it was to charge along the way.

RE: Does closing most A/C vents create back-pressure?

Someone may know more than I do, but we used to do that exact same thing in our travel trailer, never had any problems. I would think maybe with less air flow it might ice up in some conditions, but never had that issue.

RE: The importance of a TPMS Tire Pressure Monitoring System

I learned a long time ago some folks are just set in their ways and no matter how you explain the benifits of some devise, they will come up with a way to say it isn't needed. Those of us that see how something "could" keep us safer, might jump at the chance to purchase said item. I know from first hand experiance that tire pressure monitor systems can and do help in many situations, and I am a beliver in owning a system. As I always say, you get to spend, or not spend your money anyway you want. The original poster has seen the reason so many of us have decided to buy what makes us feel safer.

RE: Buying a new class A

Have had gas and now diesel, all purchased used and well cared for. The V-10 Ford powered 34 ft 2018 gas was fine for the traveling we did and it pulled our towed car fine. But was noisey and not a great ride, so moved to a Tiffin RED 34 ft, night and day difference in quiet, ride and quality. Then moved up to a 40 ft Tiffin Bus, even nicer. For the money your wanting to spend you should be able to find a quality well kept used Tiffin. Good luck in your hunting

RE: full size corner bed vs queen corner bed

Conner beds are not my cup of tea! They are really hard to make up, and if your on the inside, hope you can sleep the entire night without waking up! We made that mistake ONCE, our first travel trailer we kept for exactly 2 outings, and put it up for sale. Never again own a corner bed RV.
