RE: RV Campgrounds in Southern Ohio

There is also East Fork State Park. It’s a little west of Peebles but it is a larger campground than Rocky Fork. There is also Long’s Retreat, a private campground in the general area.

RE: nothing seems to be open in pa and Ohio

They are probably recuperating from the past holiday weekend.

RE: Vegas food

Hash House A Go Go is a must, one of the newest restaurants. BEST BREAKFAST EVER! We went there 4 out of the 5 days we were there. If you enjoy a great cup of hot tea, order the Early Grey and enjoy.

RE: Snap pads

These are the best things ever. Have them on our 5vr. They work great. Would buy again if I ever get a new camper. I would highly recommend.

RE: Do you ever ship belongings to destination or back home?

I ship stuff home all the time. As we travel sometimes I find artwork or home furnishings, sometimes clothes and I ship them home. I find a UPS store and they will pack and ship it for me.

RE: EZUP Canopy - Truss Repair

Have you called EZ-UP? Ours was damaged during a wind storm a couple of months after we purchased it. They sent us a replacement, free of charge. We had a similar issue and called EZ Up. They mailed us the parts for just a couple bucks. Repaired it ourselves. Call them, worst they can say is no. Worth a try.

RE: What's up with RV names??

Dominator and Intruder are two of my favsI always thought Intruder was a stupid name for a camper. Not sure I would like people who tell you up front they are intruders. The other one I see occasionally that I think is questionable is tsunami. Not sure I want that kind of destruction in a campground.

RE: Ohio Lake View Campgrounds

The Grand Lake at St Marys state park has some lake view spots. Also Lake Harrison State Park. We were at both last year and remember seeing lake view spots. It might be too far south from where you want to be but Deer Creek State Park also has lakeview and lake side sites.

RE: stand mixer

The stand mixers are still made in America: Yes, the famous KitchenAid stand mixer is still made in the USA. They’ve been manufactured in the KitchenAid factory in Greenville, Ohio since 1941, coming in 8 models and over 30 different colors. KitchenAid also has U.S. manufacturing facilities in South Carolina, Ohio, Arkansas, Indiana, Tennessee, and Mississippi. However, even though the stand mixers are still made in America, not all KitchenAid products are produced domestically. T You can take a factory tour of the Greenville, Ohio plant. Interesting to see how these are put together. ALso learned that you can send in your mixer and have it repaired there. I had a stand mixer that had been rode hard. I took it up there ( I live about a hour away) and a couple weeks later I got it back better than new. It looked and performed great. Well worth the money and way cheaper than buying it new.

RE: Rest Area / Truck Stop Etiquette

Why not try a small campground or state park along the way. You might help a small business owner campground continue to be open for business. State parks can be less expensive if money is the issue. Relax and enjoy the trip.

RE: truck stops

It’s really simple. Send the wife in to pre pay. She can do some shopping. You fuel, give her two rings n hang up. You pull forward, she pays. Now get back on the road. See how EAZY that is??? This is exactly what we do. Usually there is a Wendy’s, Subway , or such. I’ll pick up lunch and we are on our way in no time. No big deal.

RE: Need overnight stay in northern Alabama

Not free, but we just did this trip and stayed at Birmingham South RV park on the way down. It was easy to get to, right off the Interstate. Had pull thru spots. On the way back home we stopped just south of Nashville at a place called Texas T Campground. A very nice family owned place again, right off the highway. Easy pull thru spots.

RE: Birmingham Alabama South RV Park

Birmingham South RV Park is a very easy off and back on for you. Be advised that there is a lot of construction going on in Birmingham. Also construction from where you get back on for about 5 miles or so. If coming through in the late afternoon time traffic going south on 65 from Birmingham to there will be very bad. If you can make it before 3 or 4 would be good. The good thing is in the morning all the traffic is going North on 65 to Birmingham. About 30 miles down 65 south from Birmingham South is Yellow Hammer RV Campground. Hoover Met will be a good 15-20 minuets out of your way but is a good place. We will be coming thru on a Sunday, hope that will make the traffic a little better. Thanks for the heads up.

RE: Birmingham Alabama South RV Park

This is sounding encouraging. Some of the reviews I saw online mentioned a manager who apparently is very rude, but I thought for an overnight stop, I can get over that.

Birmingham Alabama South RV Park

Has anyone stayed at Birmingham South RV Park? It looks like it could be a good stop for us on the way to Florida. The website says they have pull thru sites. Just wondering if anyone has any experience there.

RE: Kentucky Campgrounds

The "trail" was mentioned and had sparked my curiosity about the Taylorsville park and the trail. Which distilleries did you find to be the best for product, distance and admission price? Not a bourbon aficionado by no stretch, but have an interest and since we sort of plan to be in the area why not. If I had to pick one, it would be Makers Mark in Loretta, KY. Without a doubt the most beautiful distillery. The grounds are beautiful. The distillery tour is very informative. Don’t pass up going to see the storage cave they use for their “46” bourbon. On the way you can stop by the Bourbon Heritage Center which is very close to Jim Beam. Seeing those two distilleries are good comparisons. I don’t think there is a charge to tour Makers Mark, don’t remember about Jim Beam

RE: Going RV TV Show

I was watching one where the man wanted outdoor speakers. They showed him a really nice unit but no outside speakers was the deal breaker. I thought really dude? That is the deal breaker?
