RE: butyly tape for solar panel install question

I used 3m VHB tape between my panel legs and the roof. No screws. 5 years and still holding. Same for me, with Dicor over the top, at least 10 years and rock solid still

RE: Inverter installation question

mattyj, your question shows you know little about RV electrical. Get the basics by reading online. It will be time well spent. Not many seasoned RVers would even consider using single a group 27 battery.I've been Rving for 50+ years, I currently have 1 grp27 battery and have for 20 years in my Lance truck camper and do just fine. I don't use a bunch of stuff but it powers my lights, pump, lap top and charges all my electronics. I stickily boondock and as long as my food holds out i'm good. I do have solar and a generator that I carry but never use as the solar takes care of everything.

RE: how to mount solar panel

As everyone else , use 3N VHB tape then cover with Dicor. Make sure to clean with Alcohol first. My panels are rock solid still after 10 years or so. No holes in roof was your alumium fully bonded to your plywood? my roof is one piece alumium and only 5/16" plywood on the back half. the alumium skin seams to float for the most part so i have the feeling if I mounted it like that it would just lift the alumium skin off the roof.Doesn't feel like it when I walk on it. Like I said it's solid still.

RE: Campsite Squatters

Seen it for years, mostly in the higher elevations of Utah.Asked rangers and they ho hum about it.When you see grass growing around the wheels it's obivious the rig hasen't been moved in months. Pisses me of but there's nothing I can do about it. A lot are for hunting camps. Some nice rigs just sitting. They usually are pulled out before the snows.

RE: shifting camper

Thanks guys, Kayteg, Yes I have a rubber mat. I live on a dirt road and went a different way and I think I know where it shifted also everything is empty, never had that happen before in 10+ years.

RE: Atwood Jack clunking....

Just went thru that, very little on the net in reguards to Atwoods. Ended up buying new Rieco Titan jacks, of course I use manual jacks so it was under a grand. Sold my 3 good Atwoods easy to re coop some $$ Could have bought 1 jack but then 2 different cranks and such. I will say the Atwoods seemed a lot better quality than the Rieco Titans plus the features of Atwoods with the auto down when you just step on them to extend, Glad I got a drill set up.

shifting camper

Went to town yesterday to get truck smoged with the camper on, some where it shifted a little and when I got home 1 turnbuckle was real loose and 1 real tight. Isn't there some way you can move you camper just a little using the jacks? How?

RE: Front hitch to carry motorcycle

Been carrying on the front for years with no problems at all except bugs in the spring time. Wouldn't do it any other way.

TC manual jacks

Just had a jack fail on a trip, there Atwood jacks. Does anybody know how to find what model they are or serial number location. I know Atwood is out of business and Reico Titan makes replacements. Has anybody done this replacement?

RE: Diesel heater

I've looked at YT but all are install in van, want to see in use in TC. Don't want to install tank on the outside and prefer to install in exsiting heater space where current Duro Flame is. If that can't be done I'll stick with the Duro as I don't use heater that much. My main reason for wanting is battery use, from what I understand it uses very little power. Look up Explorer 867 on You Tube. He does a very clean install in a commercial truck canopy/cap. He has part 1 & 2 videos and the controller setup video. Total of three videos. His videos are very easy to follow. He uses a two gallon boat fuel tank for the diesel inside the cap. Hope that helps.JD, Thanks for the YT video tip, very good explanation of the heater install. Answered a lot of questions in reguards to size and space needed, which with a TC is important.

RE: Plamosa Rd.\ Bouse

I think that's due to the fact that communities can't handle the amount of people. I come over with everything I need for 2 weeks, only 3hrs to home in Joshua Tree. Just want to get out of the house and do a little trail riding.
