RE: Which shocks IF...

I installed Bilsteins HD shocks and Hellwig sway bars. Tremendous difference in handling.

RE: Towing Minivan with car dolly

After reading through some of threads again. I did not consider the weight of the dolly. Also, I keep looking at GVWR and not curb weight of the vehicle being towed. So a minivan like Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna seems do-able.

RE: Towing Minivan with car dolly

Wow, that’s a lot to take in. My tow dolly does have hydraulic brakes. I’ve loaded up my rig with gas, fresh water, five passengers, and clothes for 2 weeks. Weight was 13,200lbs. RAV4 was a pretty easy to pull, maybe I’ll look for something just a little bigger than.

Towing Minivan with car dolly

I have 2004 30’ Fourwinds 5000 on Ford E450. Been towing a RAV4 with a car dolly, but the kids are getting bigger. Thinking about upgrading to a minivan, but it’s slightly over the RVs towing capacity of 5000lbs. Looks like most mini vans are 5600-6000 lbs. Anyone towing a minivan? Any issues? Any other vehicle I could consider? Thanks everyone.

RE: Koni’s or Bilsteins

2003 E450. Installed Bilsteins shocks front, rear, and steering stabilizer, in addition to larger sway bars. Huge improvement.

RE: Road Trip from TX-CO-UT-CA

I'm heading to visit family for Christmas, so figured I can fit in a few stops along the way. Four Corners Monument, Horseshoe Bend, and Vegas are what we're considering so far. Thank you for input.

Road Trip from TX-CO-UT-CA

Planning a road trip from starting from Houston, TX with stops in southern Colorado, Utah, and then Los Angeles, California. I have a 30ft MH and will be towing with car dolly. Looking for some input regarding driving conditions like mountain driving, snow, and/or roads to avoid,..etc…. Any recommendations on sites to see or places we have to eat would be cool too. Thank you in advance.

RE: 24. Or. 30

I purchased a 30ft Class C as my first RV. Maybe a little big, but I love it. Shortly after, my brother liked the ideal of RV'ing and purchased a 26ft. After 6 months, he upgraded to a 30ft. We both have 3 kids each and the extra room out weighs the park-ability.

RE: Car Dolly

For short trips I just rent a car. For longer trips I have an ACME tow dolly. Its a little inconvenient to install/remove ramps and strapping it down, but well worth with it. Pretty easy to tow. Just make sure you get one with brakes, hydraulic or electric. Some states don't require them, but most do. Better safe than sorry.

RE: Electric Motor Home Locks

"AP Products 013-531 Electric Motor Home Lock" is the one I got from Amazon. Just finished installing it. I had to enlarge the striker opening in the door frame some. It was aluminum, so I just used a grinder and a file. The initial programming was easily done. After that, it doesn't seem like you can RE-program it at all. I tried a few times. New codes didn't take until I removed the battery pack and updated the pass code like a new install.

Electric Motor Home Locks

Has anyone installed any of these onto their RV? Do you recommend it? Thinking about installing one, until I saw the programming guide. Code programming is done from the outside, so looks like anyone can just walk up and re-program it at anytime.
