RE: Campgrounds around Seattle

I booked us into Pleasant RV Park for 5 nights and got tickets to Yankees and Mariners. Will take in the city sites and experience some of the attractions we missed last time.

RE: stuck dump valve

I replaceded the braided cables on mine with these last year after one broke. These are a thin single piece similar to an electritian's fish tape. cable I had to operate on the underbelly on my trailer also a few years ago ( not medically certified in my province but oh well....) due to similar issue with the handle. Was a pain to cut section of chloroplast out and get to the issue. I replaced with the one shown above also.

Campgrounds around Seattle

Hi all. Now with baseball back on, I want to take the family to Seattle area as we have done before to catch a game . Looking around Aug 7-14 . We have stayed at the KOA outside of Seattle and research looks like it is closed. We are a family of 4 traveling with a 40 foot toyhauler. Any recomendations on a nice campground with proximity to the city? Thanks

RE: Towing performance - F150 vs F250

I had a 2010 Max tow f150 with the 5.4. LT rubber etc. 7700 gvwr My fifth wheel at the time was a Cougar 27sab. It was 6900 dry ( weighed) and pin around 1200. I was always around 8000 pounds and that still put me right at payload, axle, but under tow rating by more than 3000 pounds. I did add a superspring right away and used this combo for 3 years but as the boys grew what we dragged along with us also did. Even then, power was not the issue but being so close on the ratings ate at me and jumped to a F350 with 6.7. The trailer you are looking at will be happier with 250. Best of luck!!! You are wise to ask.

RE: Tires---Ouch

$ 1575 for a set of toyo AT3 just last week and that is just the rubber sitting in my garage as my winters are on. LT 275/65 20 for a 2017 350. that is 300 better than any price I could even find up here in the North country. Shopping wheels now and with sensors looking at around another 2200. here is the kicker for me..... In the past year... new Sailun on my toyhauler, new Carlisel on my drift boat trailer, new winter blizacks for the truck and now the toyos....ouch!!!! if you want to play you have to pay.

RE: Rims for 350

20 I have Sailun on my toyhauler. I see some HD trucks with those tires. They seem to come in at a good price.

RE: Rims for 350

Thanks. I found fuel assault with 3750 lb rating and 80 psi. I have a black platinum so it should look good with black on black with a bit of chrome on the spokes. Expensive!!!!!!!!! No lift just tire and wheel upgrade. So tough finding rubber up here in Canada so I got on it early.

RE: Rims for 350

Yes the homework is big for me. I have my tires ordered and now have 6 weeks give or take to find my WHEELS!!!! I inquired knowing I like the 3750 rating in my stock tires. That is taken care of with the toyp at3. Now I need the wheels to have 80 psi capacity. Thanks for replies

Rims for 350

Have a 2017 Platinum 350 6.7 in black. Sold stock wheels and rims. Looking to buy toyo at3 and some black rims. Need the 3750 capacity for the toyhauler. What have you guys bought and are you happy with in? No lift, just stock everything. Thanks

RE: Sailun tires

I am also on my second set of saliuns on my voltage TH. Got 6 years and about 35000 k on the last set. I did notice the Vietnam print on the sidewall. I hope they work out like the last set. I don't tow as much anymore as my boys are now 15 and 18 and do their own things more and more. Of note, I found Bridgestone Blizzacks in the LT for winter tires for my truck and was amazed that they were made here in good ole CANADA!!!!

RE: Bed cover for F350 with fifth wheel hitch

I have a retrax and as someone mentioned it is the canister style. Works for me as I don't have an Aux. fuel tank. Mine is the alluminum one and love it despite the price tag. I previously had the regular retrax and it was also good and before that a PAce edwards. I like the roll style . Low and out of the view and still lockable.

RE: landing gear issue

Thanks Wa8 for reply. Yeah, the 3-5 sec and shut off is strange. The motor is barely audible during this. The legs are not bent but could use lube for sure. I will have to haul it home to work at it but Thanksgiving weekend up here and tearing out kitchen tiles so maybe next week. Appreciate your positive feedback!

RE: landing gear issue

Grit Dog. Where did I mention dirt on landing feet as an issue???? Better read that one again! Batteries are showing charge level rested at 12.96 in series. Some issues within camper are not assumptions. They are facts. I do not get power to a lot of receptacles, water heater, or charging component for battery bank while on 30 amp. I actually get these on 15 and 20 amp. With 50 amp service, which I never seem to find , all works as it should. I never stated ALL circuits. I still thank you for input!

RE: landing gear issue

Update Well when I went to storage yesterday I went to poke around and check batteries and all with my eyes and not go by the indicator lights. I had some green crud on one of the posts. Trailer would not go up at all when I turned the battery disconnect on. Pulled both batteries out ( trojan t 105 about 3 years old and brought them home. Checked water levels and noted the water was below the plates so added distilled to all 3 caps in each battery. Cleaned everything up and put them on a trickle charge. This morning they read 12.69 V ( but this is while they were hooked up) so they were not charged and lacking some water. I hope this is my issue!!! I will check after work today and that will have given them 24 hours and check strength. I think it should be around 13.4?????? Thought about running the jumpers to the motor like suggested to check for fun but delt with this first. That is how I run my genny during the winter months when going over to check things and exercise the genset. I did see dirt piled on the tops of the legs so these will need me tending to them when I tow it home again. Of note. My rig is a 50 amp service and I rarely ever find 50 amp. It is usually only 30 and works for a few days but I know some of my electrical draws are not on the legs of the 30 amp. Example is, when I am plugged to shore power 30 amp my batteries are not charging as per the indicator lights. Weird but I did not wire the unit. My electric option for hot water tank does not work on the 30 amp either as well as many of my receptacles . I may have to look into this . I would have thought that running the genset would have lifted the trailer but in this case no with the batteries in the condition they were showing. The battery light indicators in the trailer were not the tell all. Thanks all for replies. Again I hope this is the issue!!!!

RE: landing gear issue

I doubt fuse also for that reason. Mine has always been slow for raising the trailer. Could need a new motor.

RE: landing gear issue

It is electric motor. I will go to storage today to troubleshoot. I will look for an inline fuse and swap out. The motor works but very weak then stops as I described so the fuse is working but will check it out. Thanks for reply
