RE: Mounting P4500i Onan Generator

Not that generator , not that TT but I have twice mounted gens on the tongue ,. Got 2x2 angle at Tractor Supply , had a welder fasten the angle in correct position to set the generator feet into . Never used isolating mounts , vibration was not a problem .I bolted it down and also added a motorcycle security lock .

RE: Maintenance Schedule !

An eight oz bottle is ten dollars but I was just in Sams Wholesale and they have a 55 gallon barrel for ninety dollars , that would last me several years !

RE: Maintenance Schedule !

My wife also had a auto store episode , Her auto was running funny and I told her to buy a bottle of DRI_GAS to pour in her tank . She called up and said that the auto store laughed at her , she handed the store clerk the phone . What she had asked for was ," powdered gas !

Maintenance Schedule !

As you know the literature that comes with the purchase of an RV is pretty slim and leaves a lot out ! Every year , about April the first, I perform a much needed maintenance chore , changing the " blinker Fluid " . It is easy and examples of how to do it can be found on U-Tube ! You can purchase an 8 oz bottle at most auto stores for less than $10 . I do this every other year although once I went seven years but the fluid that I pumped out was " nasty ". Be sure and put this on your schedule !

I also do not like tow/haul on steep downhill , I just tend to shift it manually so I can control revs !

RE: Pilot credit card needed ?

Fly J is the highest priced fuel on the planet , often 60 to 70 cents higher than other stations . I drive past the Fly J at Ocala on a regular basis and just down the road a mile or so is where I fuel . Last Friday it was $1.05 higher !

RE: How to install stuff on walls

I tried everything , what I have been doing successfully lately is pop rivets . You must know the thickness of your paneling and add the thickness of your piece that ya wanta hang , add em together , walk over to Ace Hardware and purchase correct length .

RE: Back in the dark ages !

The original poster here ! I want to thank you all for your help . What I am in the process of doing is installing a 200 amp lithium battery and the proper converter . We consider our selves as " travelers " , not campers , not boondockers . We tend to spend the night where ever we are when we get ready to stop , maybe Walmart but could be just as easy a church lot , police station , hospital , cemetery . What we were hoping to achieve by going with lithium is the ability to run the furnace or a couple of fans all night with out running the batteries down . We travel in a Ram 2500 with a topper , under the topper is mounted a 3400 watt generator , a 35 gallon water carrier , 2 electric bikes and a pancake compressor . We like back roads and stop at all small museums , yard sales , towns with funny names , historic sites , battlefields . We just wander and will go to a campground every 5 or six days . Planning a 5 month trip next summer/fall . Thank you all again . I have owned RVs for 40 years but this " new Tech " is confusing to an eighty year old .

Guy next door sez that I should not let the alternator on my truck charge my lithium while driving . Is he a dummy ?

RE: Back in the dark ages !

Also , I am sitting here ordering a 200 amp lithium battery and the proper charger , what do a shunt do and why do I need one ?. The battery is on the way , $ 600 bucks , wow , Boy I hope they do not quit social security until I get this paid for !

Back in the dark ages !

I believe that I was taught that all things being equal, that stranded wire would carry more current than solid wire ? Is that true or am I being misled ?

RE: conversion kit

A'int really a conversion .You need a extra tank , a mounting platform , and a switchover regulator . Easy job , might need a drill motor and some screws . Can get at E-Trailer , Amazon , E-bay or any RV place .

RE: Anyone know what this cold water tube is for?

On my trailer those would be the low point drains . In the bottom of the sink cabinet on mine are two push/pull valves that will turn them open and closed !

RE: WFCO WF8955PEC

Thanks for the reply , I gotta think for awhile before I spend the money ! My 2 current six volts are over 5 years old and we are gonna take a 4 month trip this summer . Replacing the 2 6 volts will cost near three hundred bucks , for 600 bucks I can get 4 times the usable power . Lithiums can go inside the crawl thru , I think ? I must talk to da boss , she has been telling me what to do for 51 years .

WFCO WF8955PEC

Will this charge lithium with out me doing nuttin ? The manual sez it will but does not say if any mods required . While I got ya here , if I wanted 200 amps lithium would ya buy a 200 or 2 separate 100s ?
