RE: Waste/Sewage System

I have done it several times with no problems . If it only last several years just dig another . I took a 55 gallon drum and shot a bunch of holes in it , buried it at a house in Port Orange Fl . It is still working 14 years later . RV toilets do not use as much water as household toilets which makes having a large leach field less necessary . Two drums connected aught to work good . I guess a lot depends on the type of soil , all mine have been in sandy Florida soil . Myself I would not ask permission .

RE: Newbie trailer owner, quite confused

Many garages in older homes will have an outlet that looks like an RV plug , it probably is not an RV plug but is a 220 volt dryer plug . If ya plug in there it will blow a lot of stuff in your trailer and all your babies will be born naked !

RE: Selecting portable compressor

I also advocate for 110 volt compressor as said by "bpounds " but , I never would run a compressor on an extension cord . You can move air thru a hose with out increasing the amps needed , unless the extension cord was at least # 12 ga .

RE: Water refill when dry camping

RE: Selecting portable compressor

You are probably gonna want an inverter any way for many other things , get a sixty to one hundred dollar ,110 volt pancake compressor and it will work for many things . Blowing up tires , brad nailing, blowing debris away and many other things .

RE: Picking Up New (to me) Ram 2500 CTD, a few questions

I have a 2014 since new . I never add anything except fuel . Synthetic oil always at 10k or so . Exhaust brake , most of time . My truck it is sometimes difficult to use tow/haul and exhaust brake at the same time when going down long mountain grades , I will turn off tow/haul on long decent.

RE: Is it possible to finance a $23K trailer for 180 months?

As stated above , making extra payments is wrong , you make a payment and also enclose a check and a note stating you are making a " payment on the principal " also .

RE: Is it possible to finance a $23K trailer for 180 months?

We all have done foolish things , when you do a 15 year loan on a travel trailer you will move this to the top of your list .

RE: Totaled vehicles...sometimes surprising.

I was in auto insurance salvage for thirty years .Today insurance companies are very afraid of the liability of turning a damaged auto back with a clean title . Fear of lawsuits are the reason . I was an auctioneer and worked for all the major salvage auctions. Also many companies may not have an adjuster in that vicinity so they hire a local contract adjuster, so the way that it is done here will have nothing to do with the way it is done there .Myself I have bought many salvage autos with good luck ,never had a problem . As said above insurance companies usually have a formula based on a percent of return .

RE: Checking on Wheel Bearing Heat

On another forum a man said not to let them use the IR thermometers on your forehead when entering a business as they are removing your memory . His wife sent him to the store for bread and eggs , he came out with ice cream and a snickers .

RE: Advance on Travel Trailer

RE: The difference between males and females

Maybe you should think about keeping her ! We have been married 49 years and the closest my wife came to a a cuss word was when we were living on sailboat and a large fan fell through the hatch a caused her to go to emergency room for 5 stitches. When the fan hit her she said , " sugar ".

RE: After one day, I am finished.....

Which is fake NEWS ? Fox said they knelled during the anthem , CNN and several others said they knelled during the opening ceremonies and stood for the anthem ! Who is correct ?

RE: Converting a enclosed trailer to a RV TT

On web site " cheap RV living " there are many , many people that have done that , most for boondocking on BLM land in the west . Large flat roofs for solar , strong frames . If you buy new you can order with an RV side door , barn doors or drop ramp . I see that you are in Florida , there are several companies in Fitzgerald ,Georgia that make some nice ones , Google Fitzgerald Ga trailer sales and step back , there will many !
