RE: Want CD player for new truck

How many CD’s do you play? May be time to switch to another media. There are several ways you can copy CD’s to usb thumb drives, copy cd’s to iPhone or other smart phone and then play them through the dash entertainment system either via blue tooth or perhaps direct cable. Not to long ago I had the same issue and decided to opt to ditching the CD’s I still listen to and just buy the songs on the CD’s I actually like and download them from Apple. You might be surprised how many songs on anyone CD you really like. Especially if you have some older “Greatest Hits” and there will be some you say that song was never that good. If you’re not a Apple user I suspect Android phones have similar features. Once on the phone I bought a blue tooth enabled speaker which a can take anywhere an play from my phone. Good options out there.

RE: Bought a new coach & what about address

I don’t believe a P.O Box can be used for a title and license plate? I believe this to be true, which is why many use UPS as you get a physical address. To OP, does the park you’re planning to stay in allow you to receive mail and packages there?

RE: Tire life

If you’ve kept them clean, proper pressure, used the unit fairly frequently they may good for a while longer. If it’s used once or twice every now and then and sitting for long periods of time, get them professionally inspected. The the worst thing you can do to any RV/Tire is to let it just sit.

RE: Cell Phone Restart

Modern “phones” are small computers that also make phone calls. All computers will need a reboot from time to time. Rebooting only takes a few minutes so doing it everyday is a good plan.

RE: Can a generator get rained on?

Covers don’t cost a lot so why not use a cover when not in use - rain or shine. Essential? Probably not.

RE: Is a toad necessary with a small motor home?

You don’t NEED a toad perhaps, and for the first few years we did not tow. A lot depends on how much stuff you have to put away when you want to go the five miles for a quart of milk. (Just an example). Many areas have local rental cars, ride share options, etc but not always where you want to be. The event we incurred causing us to start towing was a breakdown at a local state park close to us. Fortunately the wife had followed me to the CG with her car so as the tow truck went left we went home to the right. Had we been hundreds of miles from home we would have had a big problem.

RE: What to do about old gas in tank

Take it for one of your 20 mile trips and feel how it runs. While you’re on the road run the generator. The idea of putting some Seafoam or similar product is a good one.

RE: F53 Shock Suggestions

I suspect your factory shocks are Bilsteins. When I looked into swapping mine on my 2016 I emailed Bilstein and they told me the stock shocks were made to Ford specs, where their replacements were not and should provide a better ride. I had them installed and do believe they are better, by how much? ?

RE: What do you do with cat at Campgrounds

We would only take the car with us on trips longer than a week. Otherwise we would leave her home with plenty of dry food, water, and a duo sized litter box. When we did take her with us, she stayed mostly in the RV looking out the big windshield. The few times we did take her out on a leash she immediately wanted back in.

RE: Jack Lube

WD40 is the “go to” product for cleaning the levelers.

RE: What the heck? I thought motorhomes lost value fast!!

They don’t lose value for the Taxman either. Here we pay an annual PP tax and so far my 2015 has lost only about 5% per year. Yeah!

RE: parking on hill

How long are you contemplating letting it sit there? I’d be concerned with the malformed tires I see.

RE: Would you back a camper for someone?

I’d don’t offer to back someone else’s rig. I’ll offer to help guide them in but that’s as far as I go. I’ve never been able to back up boats, trailers, etc. that’s why I have a MH and a flat tow vehicle.

RE: Cost to repair or replace half a windshield?

well I see we have a $2000 deductible so it'll likely be coming out of my lunch money You sure that deductible applies to Comp/glass? Many states have zero deductible for glass claims under Comp. We had to have our one piece windshield replaced and the company (Binswanger) came to our house, measured, ordered, installed at our house. The glass came from the same company the factory’s did.

RE: Better ride when not towing?

Are you 12? What does this question relate to? MTBOB joined yesterday. I’ve read two of his posts and each one seems to be demeaning to the OP.

RE: Norcold Fridge on Propane Question

What happens with the burner turned down to a lower setting during the day? Does the temp inside the fridge get too high? Is there anyway to better insulate the fridge?

RE: Too old to drive ?

As far as being a sole personal opinion, if you are concerned about your abilities then perhaps you can still do so. Just keep in mind there a many people who do not know they are past the point of making that decision due to dementia.

RE: Resuming Rving... ideas dealing with Covid.

Been camping for close to nine months here, playing golf the entire time of the Covid thing albeit with restrictions. Like many many small businesses have pointed out they are shuttered but “essential” businesses like liquor stores and pot shops can be open. Many of the CGs we’ve been to have gone to touch less checkin, and keep things cleaner (which they should have been doing), closed group areas and activities. Use a mask, wash your hands, keep hands off your face, don’t get in anyone else’s face and go enjoy the great out of doors.

RE: Ford Roadside Assistance

Who responds to a service call depends greatly on where you are when you need help. In many cases there may only be one or two tow companies in the area and they will have contracts with multiple RSS policy companies.
