RE: Don't let your guard down, Covid is still out there...

So three weeks ago I go into the hospital to have a heart cath and the next day I come down with chills, severe congestion, feel like warmed over death. Lasts about two weeks. Took two Covid tests and was negative both times. 68 yo, heart issues, COPD, and a few other old guy related complications. I can see how people with severe lung issues could be in trouble with flu, COVID, severe cold, pneumonia. Plenty of viruses, etc that can cause us harm. Do what you think you need to do.

RE: Happy With Android OS

I’ll support the notion that Android is a better option than Windows for a variety of reasons unless you have a need for software that only runs on Windows. Glad you are happy with your choice of OS. I’ve heard but good things about Android. I standardized on IOS and thus far we have two iPhones XR’s, two iPads - one a 5+ yo Pro, two Apple watches, one Apple TV, and two cars with Apple CarPlay. All running current version of IOS. I have an old Windows Surface I use for doing my taxes but that ends next year and it’ll be recycled.

RE: What size generator to run AC??

Don’t know brands to buy, but do know that while you CAN get by with a 2200, a 3500 range will provide sufficient power and allow more things to be run without issues.

RE: CG Prices

RV “Resorts” will be more expensive than CG’s. RV anything near major areas, tourist areas, beaches, amusement parks, will be more expensive than those that are just along the way to them. We just took our great nephew to Carolina Pines RV Resort near Conway, SC and had a great time even though the main water park attraction was close for construction. They are adding more water stuff to do. It was a bit pricey but enough to do there, not too far from all the stuff in MB area without the traffic. I prefer state parks especially those that still have lots of trees, but every now and then a full service resort is a nice change.

RE: How do you in the S/E handle high humidity inside your rig?

We don’t have too much issues. We run the roof ac with all windows and vents closed, making sure the dash ac had been set to recirc to make sure the damper is closed.

RE: TV mount

I think an issue with the above mount assumes a stationary place. Need something to permanently hang the TV to keep it mounted while traveling.

RE: Dometic RM 2662 fridge issue

Gret a new one assuming you can find one and can get it installed (or install it yourself).

RE: Wipes!!!

Every major city sewage system spends thousands or hundreds of thousands of $’s clearing wipes and other items from their filter systems. We have a separate can for wipes.

RE: Poly Glow.

My take is it’s worth a bit of/more of UV protection. Your experience may differ.

RE: Poly Glow.

It’s all acrylic, thick enough (after a few thin costs) to fill the imperfections in the surface which is essential to creating a smooth shine. After applying any of these products you should follow up with any of the spray on wipe off UV protectors periodically to further help the shine last.

RE: CC safety

A couple of things. Check if your card issuer allows to to turn your card on or off. Then you can turn the card on before you use it and back off after. Look into getting an Apple Watch. (I assume android has similar). With my watch I can pay for things without the need to actually produce the credit or debit card I want to use. I also applied for and have an Apple Credit Card (Mastercard through Goldman Sachs). The card has no (zero) numbers displayed on it, just my name. I use it everywhere I have to actually produce a card. No way for them to get the numbers. Also, it can be setup so the 3 digit CVV code with change after N number of uses, and if I need/want to change the card number from time to time. Very secure. The watch also receives the same notifications as my phone.

RE: Black Tank Odors

Is your backwash a process where you attach a hose to the end cap? Or is it a black tank flush connection? If the latter there is a back flow preventer typically under a bathroom sink than can go bad and allow fumes to enter the bath. Where is your black tank vent in relation to any open roof vent? In my case the vent pipe is directly behind the bathroom vent depending on wind fumes may enter the RV.

RE: Thermometer

Does it have to be your phone? I’ve got a system that has a small “base” unit with three satellite units. The base shows the temp and humidity at that location and from the three satellites. Fairly sure I got it on Amazon (of course).

RE: 2013 Winnebago vista 35b flat towing jeep rubicon

What year Rubicon, 2 or 4 door. I tow a 2015 2dr Sahara automatic, and no issues towing it with my 2016 Ford gasser. My brake system does not require power to the Jeep, getting ready to tow is easy. Park on level ground, hookup Jeep Set park brake Key on (DO NOT START ENGINE) Transmission to neutral Transfer to neutral Transmission to Park Release park brake Remove Key (modern jeeps don’t have steering wheel lock) Get out of car give it a good push backward(the reason level spot) If it rolls you are good to go I have been towing for several years and have had to unhook maybe twice to exit gas station.

RE: Transferring Propane?

I concur that not worth the time and effort. Before you donate it attach the mh tank to a gas grill, cook up a bunch of food that can then be frozen and eaten later. Conversely, call a local propane supplier and ask them. They must have a way to do it for the times a large propane tank needs to be taken out of service. Should be no difference then saving the Freon/coolant from a failing A/C unit.

RE: Nearly impossible to get Class C Chassis serviced?

Try getting a Ford dealer to work on a Class A or C. Many if not most will not accept them, many will do simple tasks that don’t require a lift. Mine was a current year model. I called Ford and every dealer they suggested would not work on it. I take mine to a truck service center. Had a VW based Winnebago Rialta and could not get local VW dealerships to service it. Had to find a independent service company. I once asked my local Camping World what they told their customers to do about service. They recommended a small independent shop 20 miles away. Went there and quickly turned around.

RE: Gas fridge on the move?

Why not just turn the fridge off during travel? Things should stay cold for hours if you keep the door closed.

RE: Covid in RV Parks

I don’t trust any numbers regarding Covid deaths as it has been shown several times the numbers are inflated. Someone dies from a heart attack and they find Covid “germs” up his nose and it gets counted as a Covid death. Take care of yourself in ways you choose.

RE: Via 25T Mercedes Diesel

Is this a floor shift? If so try tapping the shifter left or right.

RE: Slidouts

What’s a bit more important is who makes the slide mechanism, and did the RV manufacturer do a good job installing them.
