RE: Slideouts on a ClassC: How many?

Don’t know optimum, a lot depends on floor plan, storage given up for mechanicals, and weight loss. Slides provide for more livable space, and greater options for floor plans. In ours (a class A) we have a FWS, opposing kitchen and bedroom slides. Really opens up the place. Can’t imagine not having them.

RE: Best RV for towing Jeep

Kinda figured that, but didn’t know for sure. My take is be flexible about the MPG on a unit that can pull a JKU/JLU Wrangler especially if you’re not planning on putting a lot of miles on it annually. My DW complains about need mid/high premium gas in her Mini Cooper. Which gets great mileage. Yet she only drives 2-3k miles a year at most. Not an issue.
I havent found ine that can Tom.
They all have the hitch rating but now the capacity to tow that much.
MC
Based on your criteria (size and mpg) you’d be looking for something on the Sprinter diesel chassis which you may know is built by Mercedes. I don’t know if it can tow 4500 lbs, but it may very well do so.

RE: RAM EV

Dodge and Ford have over a century of building trucks, customer feedback. They know what people want. They figured out that replacing engine and gas tank with electric motors and huge battery does not require a design change.

RE: Insane first RV trip plan?

Yes retirement is great, going on 23 years now. Retired at 47. Regardless, if it’s is supposed to be a fun trip for all concerned, less travel more stops, see more things.
Nope, not a reverse snow flake, been to every state, even those that have different political views than mine. I don’t go to large cities as a general rule, never have liked big cities. Seattle or most of it may be safer than I think. However, maybe I should have left that line out.
First thing to consider is travel per day, butt in seat time. And with current issues in Seattle why go there unless there is family to see. 5-6 hours a day is enough for us, and one one day. We plan on no more than 200-250 miles a day and then a couple of rest/explore days. RV trips should be relaxing not how many miles a day you can handle.
Have fun.
So, umm what are you even talking about, about Seattle?
Or are you just another one of those reverse snowflakes like the couple other ****** on here who now are making a stand by “not camping” in states they don’t agree with from a political perspective?
Or are you referencing the George Floyd riots that happened almost 3 years ago? If so, I’m not sure how to put this, but that was over….almost 3 years ago! Lol
250miles a day and a few days to relax in between each travel day? Ahhhh retirement must be lovely. Thank you for sharing that with us….

RE: How long should a battery last?

Does the fridge have a propane option? If so you should use gas when boon docking. Will use very little battery to operate.

RE: Are bicycles covered for roadside assistance?

Do an internet search for “Bicycle Roadside Service”. You will find several companies will provide it as a rider on a policy. What actual services they provide varies.

RE: Awning arm does not release.

Sounds like awning arms may not be square causing the one side to jam when closed. Might try LIGHTLY tapping each side at the top with a hammer.

RE: Seven States to Ban the Sale of Gas Powered Cars in 2035

There are viable alternatives to all electric now and coming. One of course is hybrids as mentioned. One gaining traction is eFuels made from captured co2 and water, then there’s Hydrogen.
I’ve been thinking about the Wrangler 4Xe. For my at home needs it would be fine for my normal daily activities in regards to electric only miles. I can charge it at home. As a toad, not so much due to weight. At over 5k lbs not viable with my gasser mh.

RE: RV Parks near Charleston, SC

There are two KOA’s in the Charleston area. Mount Pleasant is a great one. One near Summerville is a dump (IMO) but does have long term campers. James Island county park is great if you can get in. We’re going to Oak Plantation CG in a few weeks, never been there, nice pictures, decent reviews. .

RE: Black tank clean out

Check in your bathroom cabinet(s) under the sink. You may find the piping to the black tank. It will most likely have a small plastic back flow preventer which have been known to fail.
