RE: Class A gas - fiberglass roof? Who uses them?

We have a 2014 Tiffin Allegro with a one piece fiberglass roof. Easy to clean and maintain. Good Luck.... Skip

Best route from Angleton, TX to Abilene, TX

Reposting as a member has suggested. I see many ways to get to Abilene, but any input regarding road conditions and construction would help. We are headed to Abilene to watch our grandson in a rodeo. Thanks again. Skip

RE: Full Time Motorhome

As mentioned before, the Tiffin 36 LA is a great bath and a half coach. We have had ours now for a year and a half. Although we aren't full-timers, the DW loves the combo w/d. We often mention that we could live full time in it. There's so much storage in the basement. Ours is a 2014 model, and after looking for almost two years we found this one with low mileage (21,000), and well taken care of for $83K. We did consider a Winny with pretty much the same floor plan, but went Tiffin which has the fiberglass roof instead of the rubber compound. Before we bought, I hired a professional r/v inspector, ($800) to perform the inspection. Not sure why, but he stated that the Tiffin coaches from 2010 thru 2016 were their "wonder" years, and had a very good track record for quality. I'm sure that could really be debated, but just thought I'd throw that in. Be patient, you'll figure it out. Also, add f/t coach insurance to your budget. It can be pretty pricey. Best of luck. Skip

RE: Tiffin Sealant Question

Tiffin uses a silicone base sealant. Dicor will not stick to silicone. Watch AZ Expert on You-Tube. he covers this many times, by showing how the Dicor fails to seal over silicone. Good Luck. Skip

RE: Firearms in RVs in California

On a lighter note. My DW and I traveled to the Hoover dam for the tour. I moved my 9mm to the trunk of the car as we had to go through a check point, and I didn't want it to be within arms distance. Sure enough, they asked me if I had a weapon. I responded that I did, and it was in the trunk. They turned us away, and we had to store it at a gun range about 20 miles away before we could enter the Hoover dam area parking. My DW asked me why I just didn't tell the agents that I didn't have a weapon, to avoid the long drive back and forth for storage. I replied, " Honey, we have Texas plates on both ends of this auto. Do you really think they would have let us through without an inspection"? But, to the OP. I wouldn't go anywhere in our RV without a weapon. Especially CA. Happy Travels!! Skip
