RE: Anyone install base plate on 2020 Escape hybrid

Maybe comparing apples to oranges, but installed Roadmaster baseplate on my 2013 Ford Edge last weekend. Instructions were very good, so just follow closely. Took less than 3 hours with my 2 talented (take after their father;) ) sons. Hardest part was installing brake and breakaway cables for my ReadyBrake surge brake. Good luck!

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

Over the years, and there have been many, I have made dozens of 'jigs' for projects and have them hanging all over the shop. Problem is, I have forgotten what some of them are/were for and how they were used. Your measuring jig, however, is obvious and can be used on many projects.

RE: Tragedy at NJ campground... :(

I can't believe a tragic accident happened to a young child and some are arguing about the source of the story! Despite the source, a life was lost and that is tragic. Take your opinions and biases someplace else and just show some respect and sympathy for the family of the child. STOP POLITICIZING EVERYTHING!....disgraceful!

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

Seriously!!! Professionals prefer Stanley. They are known for their precision and durability. When two or more people are involved in manufacturing which requires each to cut a part of a finished product and using different tapes the finished product is not very quality. A 1/32" off here and a 1/16" off there has an accumulative effect on the whole assembled product. The 'rule (pun intended) of thumb' is to use the same measuring device throughout the project. Regardless of the accuracy of the device, everything should fit when finished.

What type of drawer slides are you planning on using? Full extension slides are fairly heavy. The standard drawer slide would add less weight, but would add strength and rigidity to the 1/4" plywood.

RE: Cali planning carb tests for Class A

That's OK, I have no plans to ever go to CA again. By 2024 I will probably not be able to drive that far anyway! X2!!!

RE: 170VAC coming from my Onan generator

This might be comparing apples to oranges, but on my Generac 5500 I had a similar problem. I had driven through a very humid and rainy day. When we pulled in for the night (boondocking) I fired up the generator to make dinner. I always take a glance at the Kill-o-watt to see the output of the gen. It was showing 155 volts. Long story short, I removed the control panel cover and found a buildup of years of dirt on the regulator module. It almost covered the connection. That plus the excessive humidity was causing a short in the connector. After thoroughly cleaning, fired up the generator and everything was fine.

RE: Have to wonder how this will effect the EV aficionados

I do not think that article is in the ballpark, let alone correct. That article was authored and published by people with an agenda. You petroleum fetishists need not worry. There will be use for your poison in one form or another for centuries to come. I understand some one having questions about energy sources going forward, but there is NO reason for me to even attempt to understand why anyone would try to not only resist but to actively discourage development and actually put down another energy source. Seems absolutely short sighted and idiotic to me! Maybe even seditious! Seems like the 're-education' project is well underway.

RE: I-65 Alabama

I know they were working on it a year or two ago, but haven't been on it since then. However, I-70 through Indy ranks as bad or worse than I-65 was.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

While I appreciate your woodworking skill and creativity in building the shelf, why not just use a full extension drawer guide? They are sturdy and have a built in stop and easy to install.
