RE: Albuquerque Rv campground?

We just left Santa Fe Skies RV. I had initially intended to stay at American in Albuquerque (which we last stayed at 8 years ago) or the newer one by the casino a few miles to the west. I haven’t yet posted the Santa Fe review, but it’s unlikely I’ll return. Santa Fe itself has become another homeless pit. Every time I got out the the truck, except once, I was approached for a handout. Once aggressively. (At 68, 6’3”, 232lbs., used to be third degree black belt that stills lifts when I’m not on the road, I guess I look like an easy target.). We visited the Cabella’s in Albuquerque. Got to talking to a salesman by the fitting rooms about in store thefts. The homeless just walk in, fill up a cart & walk-out. In the future, I’d likely stay in the Bernalillo area. Drove thru it Wednesday. Newer & more my socioeconomic bias. That is just sad. It's too bad it has come to this. We were thinking about visiting this city but not so sure now. Our experience is totally the opposite. We were just in Santa Fe again this past June. During each of our visits, have never once been approached by any homeless, and always enjoy our time there. One of our favorite destinations. We also stayed at Santa Fe Skies RV park. And we will definitely go back.

And then there is the Rail Runner between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Any campsite along I25 has access to a train commute to Downtown Santa Fe or Albuquerque. And many points in between.

RE: Albuquerque Rv campground?

We drive west every summer and stay at the Bernalillo KOA for the past few years. Its location in the smaller community makes getting around easier and interesting sights around ABQ are nearby. If you stay, go by The Range for great New Mexican food--it is only a few blocks away. And Santa Fe is close by!

Shady park in Yuma AZ?

We need to be in Yuma for a few days starting 5/9/21 for some follow up dental work from feb 2020. I see a lot of rv parks on Campendium and Park Advisor apps but figured some of you must know Yuma well and can make a recommendation for a tolerable park in the May heat. We're 30 amp so good shade would sure help. Dreading the heat after we've spent the past 6 weeks in Southern Utah, Taos NM and Santa Fe, NM. Yuma is our last stop before heading home to sf bay area. We don't particularly care for 55+ "resorts" but if there's one with decent shade, we'll deal with it. Can anybody who knows Yuma well suggest a decent park there with good shade? Thanks all, stay safe and well.
