Maybe this should be in the newbie section, but here goes. I have been a member of this forum for about a year. I continually see acronyms (DW, DD, PITA...) which are not defined, in the body of text. Is acronym the correct word? Is there a definition list of which I am unaware? I did a search but have so far failed to find said list. In the military we always had to define an acronym the first time we used it, except for very common ones. These must be very common, but I keep getting confused. Any help would be appreciated.

Also,

TV = Tow Vehicle

and

tv = television

So, if you have problems with your tv, do not capitalize it as TV. People will think it's strange towing your camper while changing channels. [emoticon]

DW = Darling Wife or Dingbat Wife or Dimwit Wife. It depends on the sentence tense. The same goes for DH for the husband too.

I think that it would depend on the poster... Examples

You fill in the definition

For the GUYs:
my DW decided to drive the TV into the lake...
my DW went in the fridge and got me my favorite beverage...
Here is the shaky post:
my DW asked me to come to bed...

For the Gals:
my DH forgot our anniversary..
my DH bough me some flowers....
Here is the shaky post:
my DH asked me to come to bed...

It all depends on the poster...

every one of these could be good or bad. you decide
