I have always bought the service manuals for my cars so I could do as much maintenance on my own as I could. Went to the Ford dealer today and asked about getting a service manual for the 2003 E-450 chassis that my MH is built on. They advised that www.helminc.com would be the source for all the Ford manuals. Came home and tried the site and found that they don't even list the E series vehicles.
Has anyone found a source for the service manual for the E-450?

Do a search under "Ford", "Econoline/Club Wagon" in the Helm Inc. web site. You will be given a choice of at least 30 types of manuals for these vehicles. I located the factory service manual for my 2002 on the second of three pages of listings and tried to post the link but it was misdirected by their web site.

I took a look at the fordcds site, but didn't care for the Torrent protocol (peer-to-peer--like Napster?) on the recent files and didn't see current information for the others.
I've not been able to find a 2005 E-450 service manual at Helm, but the closest thing (Econoline wagon) was about $170 for paper and the CD was about the same as I recall. You can drill down on the site to see what they have. www.helminc.com
I used to love to get service manuals for my car, but when I paid lots of $$$ for one for my toad, and saw what size it was, it's clear that times have really changed in DIY car servicing. Regardless, it allowed me to remove panels for brake light wiring and showed me which wires to tap.

Hey CloudDriver, send me a PM with the vin number on your vehicle, I can help you with an electronic version of ALL of the manuals for your vehicle (Ford on DVD)This would include service, wiring and the powertrain emissions diag manual, if you want to get that far into it!

I just got the two volume 2001 workshop manual for E-Series from Helminc.com delivered for $146.95 Part# FCS1225101. My Xmas present to myself.

There's a big difference between an *owner's manual* and a *service manual*; the referred to site:

offers a PDF of an owner's manual, not a complete service manual.
AFAIK, Helm is the (only) source that supplies a "consumer" with service manuals for several model years of the E-450.

Since we always have at least one laptop and printer with us, the CD is not a problem and takes LOTS less space than paper manuals. I can always print a manual section if needed for a mechanic somewhere.
Looks like as of 2003 and later they went to DVDs which contains info on LOTS of models (good for an auto repair shop, overkill for most of us). The DVDs appear to be quite a bit more.
