I have been trying to understand all the acronyms being used here but some have me baffled. Is there a link to the definitions, of TT, TV, etc.

Welcome.

TT is travel trailer, TV is tow vehicle, DW is dear wife, DH dear husband - and the list goes on!

hope this helps you. you will probably want to go to the forum which applies most to you. Things are a little slow in the 'off season' (winter - no camping except for the snowbirds).

Welcome

This should help with some acronyms - but some are a little more specific here such as;

  • tt = travel trailer
  • fw = fifth wheel
  • pw = pop-up
  • psd = power stroke diesel
  • tv = tow vehicle

I'm not aware of one but here's some off the top of my head.

TV = Tow Vehicle
TT = Travel Trailer
MH = Motor Home
PU = Popup Camper or Pickup Truck (depends on context)
5ver = Fifth Wheel Camper
CC = most commonly refers to Crew Cab pickup
PSD = Ford's PowerStroke Diesel engine
D/A = General Motors Duramax/Allision diesel engine/trans combo

there's more, I'm sure someone else will chime in

Great, now I know what you all are talking about. Who is FRED, is he a new 'guy' on the block?

By the way, one of the car forums I peruse use SWMBO in place of DW, it stands for 'she who must be obeyed', I now see the difference in car addicts vs family affairs.

Not sure what the exact letters stand for, but FRED is a front end diesel.
