Always assuming this isn't a thread that's already made the rounds...

I've noticed all these cool pet names, Orson, Dixie Dew, Gretchen etc. Just wondering what made ya'll (not just those) pick your pet's names? Old Fella's the only one I can really pin down, most of the rest I see around here have me scratching my head. Anybody want to 'fess up?

I let my husband name ours. "Summer" because that is when we got her. She's a pek-a-poo/cock-a-poo, a peka-cocka-poo-poo. She doesn't know she's a d-o-g. She'll soon be 10. She loves to travel.

Hank got that moniker 'cause his sire was Henri. We just Americanized it a bit.

Hank's litter mate, Chester, is short for Armoire, which was the only French word we could come up with at 2 in the waking morning.

Annie got a family name.

We named our English Mastiff "Skoshee": It's Japanese for "Little Bit". He was 16 pounds and 22 inches long at 7 weeks old. It sort of fit, NOT![emoticon]

We named our older dog "Delta" because she was the forth member to our family, so it just made sense. We adopted a 2 and a half year old Border Collie X in December, her name was already "Blaze". We thought about changing it, but after we saw her run around the backyard, the name stays!

We named our Rhodesian ridgeback mixed with pit bull Lucky since we got him from the pound when he was a puppy he's 7. Brown mini doxy-Angel since she is one she is 4, female black and tan Zoey-3 I had always like that name, and the male black and tax doxy who is DH named him Max he's 2. And the cat is named Milo who is 3.
