We are planning a long trip this early Summer, and wondered if anyone has ever traveled with their dog in the TT while going down the road? The dog is a lab/golden retriever mix, weighs about 65 lbs, and is very smart. We will be heading north so the weather will still be fairly cool, so the TT won't be hot. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I would not make my Mother-in-law ride in a trailer that is being towed. If you want to see how it is, have the boss tow you for a short time aroound the storage lot or campground. It will probably scare the snot out of her or the dog.

Please, Please, don't even consider doing this.

That TT rides nothing like your tow vehicle going down the road. The dog will be thrown all over the place.

Ditto on what everyone else said. My dog is as prescious to me as any other member of my family.

I want to leave this earth calmly and quietly in my sleep like my grandfather and not like the other three screaming passengers traveling with him in his RV.">

Yep, That's the only place the dog rides. I have rode in our 5er,(and our old TT) and it was a pretty comfy ride.

Ps- For those of you who say you wouldn't let your mother-in-law ride back there. I know we all love our pets, but for christ sakes, IT'S A DAMN DOG!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever seen the movie - "the long, long trailer" with Lucy and Desi - Lucy tries to cook dinner in the trailer while going down the road and everything is flying everywhere!!! That would be your dog! Put him in the truck!

Joe,
When I was young like you, I use to feel the same way about my dogs. As you get older, your compassion for your pets will change. And, you can believe that your dog doesn't feel the same way about you being just a Damn Human. You are everything to him or her.

If your dog is in a moving TT, it will be bouncing about like shaking a can filled with rocks. He could also be seriously injured. For an idea of what it would feel to him, get in the TT and have someone pull for for several miles. I think you will understand why most of us say "no"!

I would never do it. The dog is part of the family and get's buckled into the back seat.
